It's really not. You wan't overboard try arma 3 they were a bit overzealous with it. Fight the sway and even when extremely tired you will be able to hit anything. It's really not bad.
  2. Whats the point of this ? Nobody was there, there is no video of the incident thus nobody can tell you if it was a hack or lag.

no amount of shooting experience can overcome mechanical accuracy and the 5 + moa that your typical mosin tends to be when using surplus ammo. Its simply not a very accurate weapon platform Inaccurate gun + bad ammo = huge ass groups The gun is inconsistent at best.

    Spawn near your Friends (realistic)

Ahahaah no once again this horrible suggestion resurfaces.

Weapons - Where Should They Go Next?

A non variable fixed zoom scope would be perfect for alot of these guns.

    AK mods - where ?

Maybe they just made them rare as they should be. Seeing every AKM all mall ninjaed up with rails , tactical lights, and all kinds of bro mods would be jarring.

A look at one of the new zombie models

    I know I don't fault him. 20 dollars are 20 dollars man.

That zombies been busy look at his knees. The other zombies must love him.

Temperature effects are broken since hotfix

The running and movement speeds will get fixed eventually. Stamina and weight were confirmed in the last dev stream so eventually everything will be realistic hopefully.
  10. Trust me I know I am not saying its easy I am merely listing what the effective range of the gun is. I am sure the gun was used at distances much closer than that however. The 400m effective range for the de lisle is most likely for point targets as the rifle was designed for sentry removal doubt it was ever used at those ranges however. The comparison to the 9x39 still stands however as they both have very similar rainbow trajectories.
  11. hmmm you do realize thats what the specified maximum effective range on the rifle is right ? It also happens to be what the sights top off at also. Bullets don't magically disappear after a set distance when you fire them.

The reason he is comparing the Iron sights and the LRS sway is because it is identical. The mosin does not sway any more with a LRS compared to a naked mosin the sway is the same the only difference is the magnification makes the sway appear more than it is.

    Ghillie suit, rangefinder ?

I am hoping he ment a built in ranging reticle and not a range finder.
  14. How about this weapon Colt New Service .45 acp Revolver Fits the low hierarchy civilian firearm that could spawn in any of the houses and desk in the civilian homes.

    More ammo ASAP

Yup. Ammo needs to be so rare that when you have a revolver and 3 rounds for it you are feeling good.

Yes exactly. Part of the problem is people are viewing sway with such a narrow focus. Sway is ultimately only one tiny part of what hopefully will be a suite of gameplay features that increase the complexity of shooting and thus make the gameplay better. - Wind - Weapon resting - Mil/moa turrets - More realistic ballistic model - Stamina / Weight system Any number of these features would enhance and compliment the very early sway mechanic. Wind and stamina are both confirmed and I anticipate some of the others will eventually down the line all together forming a good shooting experience that mimics realistic real life shooting scenarios even if it does it by exaggerating certain aspects in order to get past the input method of mouse and keyboard. Now if some people are only being negative towards sway because it means they can't shoot people easily anymore in stable then tough shit , stable is not the finished game give it time.
  17. De Lisle Carbine Is extremely rare but my god is it a very unique gun that would actually bring alot of the desireable qualities of the VSS to dayz. It shares magazines with the m1911, it is .45 acp, it has a limited range of under 400m shame its so rare though. Those are amazing especially the semi auto shotgun the ammo capacity leads me to believe it is a fowl gun and it probably has a choke on it giving you night tight patterns at range.

Looks to me the sway is doing its job then. Not taking a 200m shot because you are unsure of it landing and missing your chance is a normal real life occurrence it happens to hunters all the time, they then close the distance , regain their breath and take down their prey.

How are they any different. The sway would be exactly the same the mosins sway would only appear to be higher due to magnification. Think the devs confirmed a stamina and weight system in the last dev stream. I really hope its indepth and more importantly that it is directly connected to a calorie and energy expenditure system where every action consumes calories and you need to resupply those calories to continue.

    Crossbows being ignored?

.... @ people suggesting explosive bolts. You do realize this isn't call of duty right in real life what good would an explosive bolt or arrow be if the range was limited to 10-20 feet ? Not to mention how dangerous they would be not only to make but how useless they would be if they were to retain any flight stability. As for the sporter and the crossbow being ignored they really arent the problem with both these weapons is that they are highly dependent on certain in game mechanics being fleshed out. The arrows are dependent on an injury system and better health and damage mechanics. The sporter is dependent on the loot system ensuring it is the most common weapon, its magazines and ammo being easily found not to mention the weapons damage being realistic unlike it is now. Given enough time they should both be useable although the crossbow will always suck because lets face it what good would 12 century weapons be against 21st century firearms.

    The 22 rifle

The blazer, cz527 and the sporter should all take modern optics they are all drilled and tapped for them. The mosin nagant should be split into 2 weapons. The current version made far more rare and then made to spawn with the pu scope , then simply add a straight bolt version that is more common but cant take the pu scope. SKS should have the pu scope removed. Perhaps they should add rings so that you can mount optics on guns that would make the process a whole lot more realistic.

    The 22 rifle

Sporter mags spawn in civilian houses now.

    The 22 rifle

I agree on the sporter being perfectly fine for a start weapon with enough utility that a veteran player might prefer it over a more traditional rifle due to its readily available ammo. I have always been against the over modularity in the game when it makes zero sense. I wan't the attachment system to play a minor role in the game and to be realistic. If a gun easily takes a scope in real life it should in game, the ruger would easily take most scopes. What I don't like is extreme modularity like what we see with the akm. There was like zero need for a drum magazine, a railed handguard, or even the pso scope on the akm. What could have been a low tier military rifle is now extremely high end due to the modularity in the game.

Weapons - Where Should They Go Next?

Helos I would hate from a realism standpoint. The likelihood of having even 1 person out of 60 even know how to start up a helicopter let alone how to pilot one is insane. Then come the gameplay reasons why choppers are a horrible idea. The way Arma renders terrain means one simple pass from a helicopter and the people piloting it know exactly where stashes, vehicles and everything else is hidden. Sticking to land vehicles would be far better for gameplay.
