    Handgun damage

It should have the same velocity and ballistics as it does in real life. The mosin is firing a full powered rifle round built for long ranges. The other is firing a magnum pistol round and the velocity and ballistics should reflect that.

    .38 special

Yup that truly was an amazing round not entirely sure why the soviets replaced it with the 9x18. I can only imagine how good the 7.62x25 would perform against modern armor due to modern bullet technology.
  4. Bingo. It will also hopefully mean every piece of loot is controlled and things like military clothing, military rifles and explosives and most importantly optics are all heavily restricted using the central hive. This in turn creates a better atmosphere but more importantly it puts a super high value on the restricted items by actually making them rare something impossible without the devs controlling how many of each item spawn. Imo this is probably the single best thing about stand alone vs the mod as the devs being able to tweak , control and monitor items would have great gameplay implications.

    New Shotgun MP133

Naw rather have a nice commonly found 3 round semi auto duck gun with an aggressive choke and long barrel for tight patterns at long range.

    New Shotgun MP133

Awesome civilian shotgun . A duck semi auto shotgun would be sweet now too.

    Why not both.
  8. That sounds exactly like wasteland actually.

    Mid Range Scopes

Yup that would be amazing. Red orchestra really does have dozens upon dozens of great gameplay ideas that would translate directly to dayz. I start to breath heavily when I think of the prospect of manual bolting and manual pumping on rifles and shotguns.
  10. Wakes me the heck up so much focus and energy.
  11. I prefer my coffee with 2 table spoons of butter and some mct oil :) try it.
  12. Not to mention it would require introducing a new ammo type that is only compatible with the mk19. Meanwhile say the 12.7x108 is added it would be potentially compatible with other weapons systems. I don't think anyone would be opposed to these things so long as they are realistic and heavy and require a team to operate due to their weight.

    Private Shards

I don't disagree. The devs should and will do whatever they want. All I am saying is at the end of the day player behavior dictates what is perceived to be the optimal way to play the game and just like the mod I am guessing Private hives and in this case private shards will reign over the public system.
  14. I totally wouldn't mind crew served weapons so long as stamina, and a weight system is added It would be yet another way to encourage teamplay. The weapon is heavy 76 pounds total I believe with the tripod. So say this spawns in a military base it would be a 2 man operation to bring this guy back to your home or base. One carrying the gun on his back one carrying the tripod. Bonuses of this are how abundant it is in Eastern Europe. It has seen combat in just about every war since 1938. It of course should require the weapon to be deployed before it can ever fire so it would be only used base defense, setting up road side ambushes, and careful base assaults. It also would be perfect for vehicle mounting.
  15. The problem is not how easy it is to fly a helicopter. The problem is the simple fact that the helicopter flies and the way the engine renders long distance terrain clearly revealing everything for miles even if is hidden behind thick brush. The map is also relatively small so helicopters are not even needed from a transportation standpoint.

    AK 101 Mags

They might not be in the game much longer at least thats what it appears in regards to the latest dev blog. AK 101 might be renamed into the ak74m.

    Private Shards

the community does. There is a reason why people flooded to private hives in the mod. Private hives simply do not suffer from the horrible issues that public hives bring forth due to character sharing. - Less combat logging - Zero ghosting

    Mid Range Scopes

I think part of the problem too is the FOV slider playing a factor into the magnification levels in the game. Combine that with the fact that the zoom levels on the variable LRS appears to be 1x- y makes it far too versatile at close range. Fixing the FOV issue along with having the LRS be 5x - 17x power for instance would go a long way to forcing the LRS into a longer range role.
  19. Even so it still ruins the asthetic . It could take months the mere inclusion of the military vehicle negates some of the games survival aspects. That is not to say all military vehicles should be excluded however. I just think they should make sense when operated by a regular civilian survivor. One only has to look at real life to get a sense of what that means, look at the military vehicles that are used by untrained guerrilla forces such as isis and boko harram around the world to get a better sense of what I mean. Vehicles such as Technicals , Humvees and military transports would absolutely make sense but helicopters would make absolutely no sense from a realism standpoint and this is ignoring the huge negatives to gameplay they introduce.

    Private Shards

Earlier the better. One server one character will always remain the gold standard for dayz.
  21. I rather they don't. The game has a great civilian survivor aesthetic at the moment. The over abundance and inclusion of military heavy aspects ruins that and leaves the game feeling like any other bro military shooter.

    The First Dayz DLC....

both are good things imo. The other bonus is that Atlis is an island so coastal spawns all around would ensure random encounters and far more randomized gameplay

    The First Dayz DLC....

I would love altis support. Altis is imo the best map in any arma game to date. It has beautiful scenery and a pretty diverse set of biomes but most importantly it has a landscape that is very very friendly towards taking and holding territory something I see as a big thing in the dayz end game.

    Mid Range Scopes

The only variable scope I would like to see would be in the form of some sort of Short dot. Low magnification , little turret elevation adjustment range. Great for a DMR or Ar15 not that great for a long range rifle. As for the LRS in game it is a place holder no as that would explain the duplex reticle on what obviously looks like a high end optic. It would be nice if they removed the LRS in favor of something dedicated for long range work like the SWFA 20x42. Cheap -300 dollars fixed 20x magnification Mil dot reticle High internal elevation adjustment range believe it adjusts upwards of 120 mils combine that with a 20 moa base and you got a 140 minutes of elevation adjustment. This along with a lengthy animation and time when removing and adding optics would do wonders for scoped weapons.

    Mid Range Scopes

As far as scopes go I really wish they would put restrictions on scopes by assigning roles to them. Say for instance the hunting scope is added it should have a fixed power that is better acclimated for hunting distances and the variable zoom on the LRS should be a fixed high magnification. The variable scope offers far too much versatility.
