Initially yes. focusing on civilian weapons first will end up with a civilian heavy weapon set that results in the military weapons being carefully chosen instead just putting in dumb choices like the scar a weapon that is not only extremely rare in the US but exponentially so in a easter bloc country.

Few Few Few military rifles I mean like maybe 2 or 3. Civilian weapons should be plenty. Following weapons and accessories should be readily available considering their popularity in real life. Ruger 1022 22.lr rifle One of the most popular and versatile guns in the world it has a wide variety of accessories everything from silencers to bipods to optics. Remington 700 The civilian hunting rifle that does it all. The Remington 700 has served civilian hunters as well as military snipers throughout the world. It comes in a wide variety of ammo types and both a .223 remington and a 7.62 version should be represented. Hunting range finder/golfing These badboys are readily available and above all things cheap. They can give you a good range estimation to your target for a hundred bucks.

I wonder if they are actually different ammo types or simply variations of the same ammo in different amounts. I have encountered half a dozen different amounts of 7.62 ammo. piles of 3,6,12,20 and carboard box of ammo. -

I noticed that 7.62 x 54r is simply named 7.62 ammo. I hope there is some sort of standardization done with the ammo so the same 7.62 ammo that works in the mosins works in the sks and remington 700s in the future. Having too many different types of ammo ruined some of the dayz mods where it seemed each weapon had its own ammo type that was nowhere to be found. -
This was the case in private hives. I actually do not know what the render distance was on players in vanilla dayz but I certainly know it was much higher than it is in stand alone.

People leaving the coast (Mainly big cities, POLL)

Easy way to solve this problem is to randomise the spawns and having them be dynamically generated up north. -
Lets hope this is true. I have encountered several situations now where I was able to see enemy players when zoomed in but not when i go to the iron sights to actually aim. Its a shame too since now you can finally see buildings and objects such as trees out to 3000m. With the poor render distance goes my dreams of being able to spot a group of survivors from 3000m and then carefully stalking them and killing them once I have found the right moment.

It is better than the base game the only thing that is missing is content but that will be fixed with time. My only complaints revolve around problems with the new engine downgrades I should say. Things that are downgraded such as player render distance that is several times better in the mod. -
Idea of a new rescource that forces to team up.

Screw that what if you do not want to team up ? Forcing people to team up to blood bag and insert ivs is bad enough especially when its something a single person could easily do to himself. -
Hive System - People are already server hopping

Server hopping is the #1 reason why private hives are better than the public hive. Each server having the players location saved, no ghosting, no server hopping, white listed players so no hacking. -
Yea this could be tastefully and it would add value an will get you attached to your character. Some ideas Hunter/Sniper character Able to range estimate distances longer your player is alive the closer you are to the actual range. Able to get more meat out of animals after learning to master the art of field dressing an animal. Survivalist Can go longer without food or water Can jog for further distances at faster speeds due to traveling long distances in the past.

They should get rid of most of the coastal spawns. We need alot more in land spawns forcing people to get aquainted with other parts of the map.

Accuracy seems to be the same. What I think might be happening is wind. I have attempted long range shots using the mosin and have noticed bullet impacts are often far to the left or far to the right leading me to believe there is now wind.

Zeds are an annoyance that gets in between me and my player killing. So I am loving these stand alone zombies and their realistic slow speeds.

Anyone else love the terrific view distance. So nice to actually be able to see miles into the distance unlike the mod where 1000m was super rare and everything further was ruined by fog.

Funny you mention that because performance is better in stand alone for me than it is in the mod. One thing I do not like is the rendering distance for players. Players are only rendered at what appears to be 900m, past 900m they fade into the distance. Wish players would render further out making 800+m shots with the mosing using irons is insanely hard when the players disappear.

When the gamma and brightness sliders are locked and people do not have predator vision then I will gladly join a night server. Reason why people prefer 24/7 daytime is because everyone sees the exact same thing and arent abusing slider settings.

VBS team is pretty daam impressive. I would really hope alot of the innovations from VBS make themselves into Dayz and Arma 3.

While Chernarus is a wonderful map its setting in Easter Europe diminishes the potential of stand alone. Having it set to Eastern Europe greatly hinders the types and number of weapons that could be included in the game. I propose they work on a new map for the final release set somewhere in Middle America. This would greatly increase the variety of weapons and vehicles possible in the final product. Use chernarus during the alpha and beta as a placeholder and when retail comes out use the new American set map.

This would be amazing. A procedurally generated map on each server. Every time you play the game it would be different. Each server would feel unique especially alongside its server specific scripts. Sadly I do not see this happening.

I have no idea what this thread is about but if you are suggesting Rocket implement ACE features such as realistic ballistics, wind, deployable bipods, acre radio system then Hell yes.

The fact that this thread is still going brings up a valid point. There seems to be some Chernarus Fatigue even if some are not willing to admit it.

Nationality has nothing to do with the idea of changing the map. Only reason I suggested Rural America was because of the sheer number and variety of guns and loot possibilities. In rural America just about anything you can imagine can be found. High Powered weapons, moonshine, explosives, home made weapons, predatory wildlife etc. Chenarus well not so much.

I was thinking something more like rural Georgia or Kentucky. You get the point. Lots of wilderness but at the same time its relatively close to farms, small towns gunstores etc.
