Yea there needs to be far more of a reason to go north. Either remove the coastal spawns or get rid of the balota military loot.

Wouldn't forcing all servers to be first person only generate enough players ? Before standalone there was a legitimate reason to use tpv there was a severe lack of awareness due to the limited fov in arma2. Now in stand alone there is a fov slider so increasing your field of view is a simple click away.

Most survivors in a post apocalyptic scenario would most certainly not be ex military or police. Most would be ordinary civilians, from all walks of life, everything from doctors to nurses to construction workers and warehouse guys. Some people really overestimate how prepared military and especially police would be for such a situation. Military and police would usually be the first to be taken out since they would be thrown into the meat grinder to try to stop the world ending event.

This is why coastal spawns are terrible. Fact that you could spawn and re engage them so quickly is a flaw in the game.

Are you crazy of course it does. It does the exact same thing that switching to third person does. It spreads out view. In fact you can match the exact same peripheral vision that you have in third person view with a quick switch of the slider. There really is 0 I mean 0 excuse to use third person view now.

Private hives are awesome they get rid of so many of the problems in dayz . Combat logging Ghosting Loot server hopping. All solved with each server retaining its own player database. -
You have a very easy to use FOV slider now no daam excuses . There is no place in stand alone for third person. The negatives far outweight the positives.

Not only should it be bannable there needs to be timed amounts for each offense. First time caught combat logging = 20 minute ban. 2nd time = 1 hour 3rd time = 4 hours 4th time = 2 days 5th time = 3 days every consecutive time is 3 additional days.

No server hopping is a direct result of the stupid central hive system that is in place. Every server needs its own separate location for players. If you server hop to another server you keep your current character but you start a new spawn location. Best solution is private servers with their own private hives.

Best solution is to change third person view completely. Have third person view face the front of your character like so. This would allow people to still see their character in the enviroment and would demonstrate their characters progression through the game. At the same time players can not hide behind rock formations or peek around corners.

Opposite it means more to get a kill in Dayz. You work alot harder for kills in dayz so its more rewarding.

zombies are not a cure for anything they are just janky things that get in the way of the sweet pvp in dayz. Zombies add absolutely nothing to the game thats why people loved wasteland.

Anyone else looking forward to setting up booby traps with home made or military explosives ? I can already see the possibilities. Imagine setting up shop in one of the apartment buildings once the player render distance problem is fixed and booby trapping the entrance. Said sniper then proceeds to shoot anyone he sees in sight terrorizing bandit and survivor alike. When the people finally band together to take him out they are met with a series of booby traps hampering them. Another great scenario would be to set up an ied outside a heavily traveled road and eventually when vehicles are added the road side bomb will disable the vehicle allowing you to stick up the remaining hurt survivors or finish them off with impressive ambush fire.

Your guns are cleaned and stored. Guns in dayz have been exposed to the elements and in the case of the mosin full of cosmoline. Two different cases your weapons should function fine you have taken good care of them. The random m4 found years later in a bunker that has been exposed to the elements and surely has some rust issues will not function anywhere near as well as the weapons you own.

benelli m4, p99 and mp 443 are common enough and would make sense. LMG, and the ksg would never find its way to chenarus. so they should be left out.

Yea add the stance system and remove third person view. -
Encountering the traps would be extremely rare the map is gigantic. Although the materials needed for setting up the traps are common such as a grenade and string or rope. They will not become a problem. traps should be saved to the server so they do not get deleted after some time or when the player who set them up died. Booby traps will play a huge role in securing loot especially when base building is set in place.

Current hunger system is insanely exaggerated. The person eats like a 800 pound person. -

With the new crafting menu I would imagine being able to add feces, or infected zombie tissue to booby traps shouldnt be a problem. Then even if they survive the sharpnel and blast of the explosion they have an infection that they must treat quickly or die.

Yea this is something that to me is a problem with dayz. Shooting stuff even out to 100m is really hard in real life but the game lines up the sights, controls your breathing, and squeezes the trigger perfectly for you each and every time regardless of distance sprinted, weight carried, hydration or hunger levels or health status. The average survivor will not be able to consistently hit a person at 100 yards much less the 400m or more that are often the common engagement range in dayz.
