    Save Stary Sobor!

Thats the problem right there. Balota gear and the coastal spawns encourage pvp in the coasts. removing the balota military loot and randomising the spawns so you only spawn in land would encourage exploration and would result in entirely new experiences.
  2. Terrific summary. Essentially there is 0 reason now in stand alone to have third person view servers. All of the problems have been fixed the exploit of looking around corners and over cover can be permanently removed.
  3. Solves a problem that does not exist.

    "Stop the server hopping"

server hopping and combat logging is what is killing this game. Rocket needs a ban system in place. If you server hop and the central server detects you picked up look in 2 different servers within 10 minutes you get an immediate 20 minute ban. If it detects you combat logged you are banned for 4 hours.
  5. Third person would be completely fine for vehicles only. It's unlikely someone will get in a vehicle then move said vehicle behind cover just to peek over corners. For infantry however REMOVE it.

    Save Stary Sobor!

I agree if anything the military loot down south should be removed. Balota has way too much military loot for no reason. There is almost no incentive to venture north now.
  7. Fine then use the other 100 valid arguments why third person is bad and needs to be removed from all servers by default. Note how I said needs not should. Perhaps we can reach common ground I would be fine if third person view was included in the easy server setting and the default had it removed.
  8. It's an exploit it allows you to see things you would ordinarily never be able to see. Like I said best solution is to keep third person view but lock the camera so it faces the player from the front like so.
  9. You can turn that off in the options its called head bob. ..... NEXT ?
  10. They didnt third person view was just part of arma 2. Had they known how much of a problem it causes and how it essentially allows cheating they would have never allowed it in.
  11. Sure they dont have to remove it they can change it and make it a purely cosmetic thing lock it as a camera from the front facing your character. Doing this everyones happy right ? You keep your third person and can see your character. And we dont have you guys looking around corners, over objects with absolute safety. I promise you they would buy it anyway. And those who love tpv will keep on playing after a week or so or constant whining.
  12. Removing third person would automatically fill the servers up. People wont have a choice but to join. It's just one of those design decisions that they need to make for our own good even if some dont like it. Sorta like removing the 50 cals.
  13. Yea by default the head bob should be turned off and the fov slider cranked up a notch so new players just starting have good situational awareness and do not get sick . Then they can easily remove third person view.

    Current Mosin "Inaccuracy" unrealistic.

Of course they would but the vast vast vast vast majority of people are non military and police and would greatly outnumber them. 9/10 times a survivor you would encounter would be an average joe not some ex soldier or cop. In the US for example in 2006, 800,000 people were employed as police at the local, state and federal level. As of right now there are 1,429,995 Active military personnel. This leads us to a grand total of 2229995 military and police personnel of which the grand majority are in non combat support roles. This is out of a population of 317,314,000. So if my math is right Military and police make up 0.45065613241142843 percent of the total population of the US. You telling me 0.450 percent of a population would make up the majority of survivors in a disaster event ? I used the US btw since it is often considered a police state, we have more police and military per citizen than other nations. Gews what does the average mosin get in moa in real life ?

    Military bases

Yea there needs to be far more of a reason to go north. Either remove the coastal spawns or get rid of the balota military loot.
  16. Wouldn't forcing all servers to be first person only generate enough players ? Before standalone there was a legitimate reason to use tpv there was a severe lack of awareness due to the limited fov in arma2. Now in stand alone there is a fov slider so increasing your field of view is a simple click away.

    Current Mosin "Inaccuracy" unrealistic.

Most survivors in a post apocalyptic scenario would most certainly not be ex military or police. Most would be ordinary civilians, from all walks of life, everything from doctors to nurses to construction workers and warehouse guys. Some people really overestimate how prepared military and especially police would be for such a situation. Military and police would usually be the first to be taken out since they would be thrown into the meat grinder to try to stop the world ending event.

    These noobs.

This is why coastal spawns are terrible. Fact that you could spawn and re engage them so quickly is a flaw in the game.
  19. Are you crazy of course it does. It does the exact same thing that switching to third person does. It spreads out view. In fact you can match the exact same peripheral vision that you have in third person view with a quick switch of the slider. There really is 0 I mean 0 excuse to use third person view now.
  20. The third person option as it is now should not exist on any server.
  21. Private hives are awesome they get rid of so many of the problems in dayz . Combat logging Ghosting Loot server hopping. All solved with each server retaining its own player database.
  22. You have a very easy to use FOV slider now no daam excuses . There is no place in stand alone for third person. The negatives far outweight the positives.

    Should combat logging be ban-able?

Not only should it be bannable there needs to be timed amounts for each offense. First time caught combat logging = 20 minute ban. 2nd time = 1 hour 3rd time = 4 hours 4th time = 2 days 5th time = 3 days every consecutive time is 3 additional days.

Server hopping is killing this game FAST

No server hopping is a direct result of the stupid central hive system that is in place. Every server needs its own separate location for players. If you server hop to another server you keep your current character but you start a new spawn location. Best solution is private servers with their own private hives.
  25. Best solution is to change third person view completely. Have third person view face the front of your character like so. This would allow people to still see their character in the enviroment and would demonstrate their characters progression through the game. At the same time players can not hide behind rock formations or peek around corners.
