See thats the thing its not about liking something or not. This is what you people do not understand. It is about improving the game by evening the playing field and not giving anyone anyone any gamebreaking advantages. The fact that there has been so much division on this subject lets us know 1 thing immediately being able to see around cover without exposing yourself is a problem. There is no debating this, being able to peek around and over cover while fully invisible to players is a huge problem. There are 2 solutions to this A. Remove third person view. B. Fix third person view. A would be the easy option that would immediately fix the game and not have any negative effects. B. Would be a daam near impossibility. So the solution to this great dilema is simple remove third person view.

Fantastic idea so long as there are more options when it comes to ammo. Would be nice to extract zombie blood and then load a tranq dart with such blood and give players infections.

This is essentially why it needs to be removed. People proposing the removal of tpv have no qualms with seeing your character or others enjoyment of doing such things. Their problems arise from being able to gain an unfair advantage over players with no risk to yourself while in third person view. Third person view exploits are right up there with combat logging, glitchy zombies, server hopping, when it comes to important problems that need fixing.

I have one and frankly its terrible. It has no ranging reticle, its variable zoom and worst of all it seems to not be aligned with the point of impact it fires slightly to the left of where the optics are aligned. Rocket and company really need to look into the importance of ranging reticles and second focal plane optics.

Lack of zombies is awesome. They are just janky things that add absolutely nothing to the game.

You are if you are using it to peek around corner and see what you should not be able to see. This is especially important in dayz due to its sim background and permadeath system.

Not everyone would be happy since the exploit would still be in the game.

Sense is that it removes seeing around objects and improves the gunplay tenfold.

Funny thing about the mosins however is the older mosins are better than the newer ones. Before the war the mosins were built better during the war they were rushed and poorly made in order to get them out into service. Even those war time mosins are good rifles however.

This would be a non issue since there would be no softcore servers if they remove tpv. There would be no disagreement over playing on a tpv server or not there would only be fpv servers.

Separates them where ? they all are forced to play on the same type of servers so you merge everyone together. You cant split the player base if everyone is forced into first person servers since tpv do not exist.

Of course the gun will fire I bet the accuracy of the gun is alot worse than if the barrel was clean. This most apparent with precision rifles even minor fouling can make the rifle loose a huge amount of accuracy.

Removing third person view would not split the fan base. Everyone would be on fpv servers since tpv servers would not exist.

Woa did I just stumble into another dimension ? people actually suggesting good weapons that make sense ? These would be the perfect weapons for the top of the line military loot Still want to see far more civilian weapons though. Also ww2 guns would not make sense.

There is a nice nifty fov slider now so this is no longer a problem. Also the reason people are so passionate about removing it is because it can and is being used as an exploit to gain the upper hand in combat situations. In the picture for example you can clearly see things you shouldnt be able to see. Until this is address tpv should be removed completely.

FOV sliders are a standard in pc gaming they would not go away if third person was removed. FOV is the very reason why third person is no longer needed you can now adjust your fov to your liking and get the same situational awareness that you would have gotten from tpv. Exept now you cant see around corners and over cover.

Yea but most people wouldnt know this. Best solution is Acre being adopted for all chat clients a plugin that works within dayz like acre for arma.

Warz got backlash for it anti consumer practices and quality of the game. Dayz with the removal of tpv for testing purposes would get over half the people praising it and a vocal minority complaining for a short time. That is until they adjust. War z got backlash for a completely different reason. Dayz getting backlash isnt a problem however it will sell regardless and if removing tpv ensure better balanced more intuitive game play then its the right choice.

If rocket and team decide to make the default setting in day not include tpv and lump tpv with the easy mode server setting with tags and all the noob stuff then yes tpv servers will disappear.

One way to force in game talk is to remove the push to talk options in the game and have the microphone auto detect voice chat. So if you choose to talk in skype or mumble or teamspeak you also do it in game.

Why are all the bad players always complaining about kos ? KOS is not an exploit or a bug or a game breaking feature its a simple playstyle that some players choose to play with. PVE servers should never exist.

Lol with what everyone is suggesting there would be no third person servers so your friends would not have a choice but to play in fps servers. So really you would have no problem.

Rocket can do whatever he wants especially in the alpha. Removal and addition of features can happen any time. like I said at the very least he should remove it from all the servers during the alpha to test it out.

At the very least rocket should use the alpha to test it out. Remove it for a few weeks test the reactions and how it improves or degrades the gameplay and then make a final informed decision for the final release. It's the alpha its time to try new things.
