The terminal ballistics are even nastier on other maps such as chenarus where the buildings consist of wooden houses. 5.56 and .308 eat those houses for breakfast the terminal ballistics are fantastic imo. The only thing it needs is some kind of visual indicator to show the player the bullet entering the house and the direction. Counter strike does it nicely. -

Tin walls perhaps but they certainly do not have the terminal ballistics fidelity that is shown in Arma 3. Perhaps in the future they will but for now its basically arma 2 bullet terminal ballistics. -

Modularity for the sake of it. Really hope they eventually just have a realistic approach to the accessories it is annoying seeing everyone with tricked out aks and tacticool sks rifles with camo patterns. -

I always took those small inconsistencies as preliminary mistakes that would get ironed at at a later point in time. Of course worrying about these small unrealistic and more importantly factual inconsistencies would be counter productive but they should be fixed at a later point in time. It is just like the pu scope with elevation adjustments only up to 300m when should be 1300m, or duplex reticles on what appears to be high end optics. All just minor mistakes that will eventually get removed. This is how I view this issue also. -

Already confirmed they are just waiting to release it supposedly once their central loot economy is put in. All signs point to it being a hyper rare weapon with limited numbers across all servers. -

Ak74 and the ak74su have no side rails. Certain variants of the ak74 have side rails those are designated by having the N at the end of their model number. Those were issued in very limited numbers and were not common at all. In the 90s however when the ak74m was introduced a side rail was standardized to every model. So realistically the side rail should not exist on the akm,sks,ak74. The ak74m aka ak101 in game should have a rail. -
I think when people advocate for realism in the game they arent talking about pointless things like brushing your teeth or taxes. People are talking about gameplay additions based on real life that improve the game things like. Shooting your gun heats your barrel and follow up shots while the gun is still hot are less accurate than a cold bore shot.Running in bad shoes causes blisters and slower movement speedStamina systemweight systemfatigue systeminjury systemWindMil turretsRealistic Accessory systemDisease These are just some examples of what people mean by realism things that would actually change the gameplay and not pointless things like manscaping and brushing your teeth.

Not fond of Morrowind/skyrim elements aka repeat something enough and you magically improve in game elements in unrealistic amount of times. It is just not a realistic game mechanic in a game that at least from a topical level looks to strive for realism. -
Yea more RPG elements not a good idea. I am in favor of having the shooting mechanics be extremely realistic and mimic real life so any shooting progressing is done entirely because the player has learned not because the player artificially gets better.

No they look like Russian Aks. In fact it almost looks like they just took the ak101 aka ak74m model and added wood hand guards to it in order to make it look like original production ak74s. If that is the case then removing the side rail in the model should eventually be done. Sure lots of Soviet satellite nations made ak74s and akms but they all have their own unique look its super easy to differentiate a yugo akm from a russian akm for example. -
Honestly it really is not your fault. If a broken game mechanic like server hopping is in the game then of course people will abuse it. You can't be blamed its up to the devs to find a creative way to stop this from happening or to outright stop it from happening by taking drastic measures until then you can't be blamed.

Especially in this case where such restrictions based on reality would create a weapon hierarchy within the ak family something that would be fantastic. Instead of having the akm,ak74 and ak101 almost being identical in value with subtle differences. You would instead have a cohesive hierarchy of AKM = limited modularity, ak74 = some modularity and ak74m or ak101 = full ak modularity. Would really flesh out the ak family imo. -
I suppose thats true. Due to how the game works and how everything must be found I don't envision mines or explosives ever being a big problem. The map is gigantic, there are limited resources and lastly players overly cautious anyway so they would avoid them.

Variants exactly but the original ak74 and akm did not have a side rail and the side rail especially on the akm was very rarely used and was mostly used for specialized units. Same applies to the ak74 where it was not until the ak74n when the side rail was adopted the a74n saw very limited numbers also. What separates the ak74m is that all of them have a side rail standard. -

Yea would be nice if they removed the side mounting plate and the PSO would not mount on the ak74 or the akm neither of which should have a side rail. The ak 101 could then be turned into the ak74m and that should mount side optics. -
Yet these things are relatively common far more common than an aug.

Has nothing to do with military weapons but the sheer amount of locations that they current spawn in. Due to there being so many military loot locations there is nothing special or rare about mil gear. -

Best approach to mitigate this is to mirror team speak or any voip program in game so while you can still cheat and speak across the map, people in your vicinity will hear you. Best case solution however would be like in ACE mod with ACRE enabled. You joiin the server and if you arent on their teamspeak with acre on it kicks you out. Perhaps the same thing can be done with server owners or maybe some nifty in game solution. -

We do there is far too many at the moment. Even with Balota gone there is what ? 5 or 6 major military loot locations ? not including the dynamic military loot such as crashes and wrecks. 1 static military base and 1 minor military camp is all that is needed. Combine that with the dynamics and you have a good amount of military loot without being overzealous like the game is now with the huge amount of military loot locations. -

Agreed. However there should only be 1 military base. There are far too many military loot locations in the map and that alone lowers its value. Only the North West airfield should be the only static military loot location all other military loot should be dynamic. -

Dayz Is not do good in that regard either. You can full Sprint and have access to your entire inventory that's dumb. No animation no nothing.
