The rifle is confirmed apparently so you are in luck. Let's just hope its not the only .22lr weapon in the game.

Removal of elevation adjustments by 100s of meters.

Thats the beauty of adapting the real life method of elevation adjustment. #1. It makes the devs jobs easier since all the optics they add in the game adjust the same way using minutes they dont have to fine tune each weapon since range is dependent on the player and how fast the velocity of each particular gun. #2. It makes sniping more accurate good players would be able to quickly set up data charts that are far more detailed than what is currently in game. Say you have a target at 931 m with a little simple math you can find the exact moa adjustment that you need for said distance. #3 It does not punish players it only encourages them to get better. With experience and some real life knowledge players will be far more effective using this real life system. -

Let's bumpity bump this with some amazing footage of a long range competition match. Love the bullet drop and skill by those shooters. The average person would require years if not decades to achieve the same type of skill most would never reach their level. -
Let's just hope they take a realistic approach to all of the weapons especially the 22 lr realistic drop and muzzle velocity for it. Above all damage must be correctly put in so shot placement is key.

Thats the thing aside from locking in the camera from the front I really do not see how they can fix third person view. I would have absolutely no problem if they fix it I just find it highly unlikely. How would you feel about the camera being locked behind the player near the feet ? This way you cant see over cover but can still see your player but cant see around corners either.

Pretty much anything and everything is prone to being removed or adjusted at this point of the games development. Hopefully all of the faults encountered with third person view are seen and made apparent and it is removed swiftly.

not sure what version of day this was but I always felt it was the best. In this version weapons such as the m24 would not kill with one chest shot but would knock out players out to a max of 800 m. The makarov took approximately 7 shots to kill with chest shots but always 1 head shot. Enfield took 2 shots and the m4 took approximately 4 to 5 shots from medium range.

Make 1st person less clunky - remove mouse acceleration, deceleration, smoothing.

Yes then when thats all done remove third person view. -
I would imagine it has a maximum of around 90 or so max adjustment. Let's hope the sniping system along with the optics in Stand alone are all place holders thats why they are given duplex reticles and are incredibly simplified. Bring forth the Full ACE style Moa adjustment sniping system.

Here is a little info. Civilians and military have access to the same stuff when it comes to optics. Civilians often have better stuff since they are willing to pay more for it. Let's just use one currently active military firearm just as an example. Let's take the m110. It is outfitted with the Leupold Mk4 3.5-10x40mm M2 . A civilian can purchase the exact same glass for a mere 1400 dollars cheaper when its on sale. If a civilian wants they can also purchase a mark 8 a 4 thousand dollar scope that craps on anything the military has.

Rocket said : Cannibalism will be eventually part of the game

Cities and animals dont shoot back so no its not easier. -
Its not that you can buy the rifle the thing is the long range scope has the aesthetics of a long range tactical optic. At the very least the optic would cost 1000 bucks and for 1000 bucks you dont get plain crosshairs like in the game. 1000 bucks gets you first focal plane , clean clear glass, a terrific mildot or other ranging reticle, zero stop turrets, and above all almost bullet proof durability. I am not saying those simple crosshair reticles dont exist they just dont on high end long range optics that the long range optics in dayz.

Why would this replace the ak let alone be in the game :/ Finish rifle a really nice one sure but it has no place in Chenarus.

Humans now are not the same hearty tough as nails humans that survived the ice age. Humans now are weak due to civilization we stopped evolving and no longer are the fittest and toughest the only ones who survive and spread their gene. The fat, the weak, the maim and the lame all have equal shot at reproducing so long as they have money.

Couldn't of have said it any better. We'll said brother.

Wait till you read the book. Movie was ok but the book was truly life changing stuff. Do yourself a favor read this.
-
You should add third person view to the list in exploits.
-
Thats why you change the ones you can control. You stop the exploits you can and balance the game by removing tpv.
-
yup 3rd person eliminates the chance for that person to be spotted. Its cheating.

Here is some food for thought. Yellow stone is set to detonate soon. Here is an old outdated estimate of what would happen when yellowstone erupts. This btw is really old new estimates show that yellowstone is much much much bigger than previous surveys. When Yellowstone erupts life was we know it will be over, a new ice age will hit the world and the human race will probably be wiped off .
-
Yea its terrible that #1 not only is there no ranging reticle #2 the optics are not first focal plane. Optics and sniping in general seems extremely half assed in Stand Alone. They really should take the ACE route and give it depth.

There was no nukes or radiation in The road :/ Did anyone read the books or watch the movie ? While it is not specifically stated what caused the world to end it is hinted through out. #1 It rains ash. #2 Temperature dropped dramatically #3 There are constant earthquakes and fires There are 2 possibilities of what caused the apocalypse. #1 Massive volcanic erupting that filled the sky with ash and caused a new ice age by blocking out the sun. Most likely Yellow stone national park blew. #2 Meteor or asteroid strike . No nukes though.
-
Yes of course it would. Rocket can do whatever he wants he has consistently done what is going to make the game better. He has fixed exploits and improved the game. Removing third person view does these things.
-
There was no radiation in the road.

Ruining your fun and fixing the game arent the same thing. Third person view is broken and needs to be removed that simple :)
