New ballistic parameters in upcoming patch!
gibonez replied to DoxHoliday's topic in General Discussion
Awesome guess after a long hiatus I will play dayz again. Hope they continue to push for realism and having all the guns be authentic. -
Constant PVP ruins the fun of this game
gibonez replied to wuffi (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
really wish there was a stickied kos thread and mods would just merge this thread along with the other 100 or so kos threads that pop up each day. -
To those who dislike the new combat logging timer
gibonez replied to africanhungergames's topic in General Discussion
30 seconds is far too short. Needs to be 300 seconds. When you log out you should be in a completely safe area so a 300 second timer should not be a problem. -
Congrats to people who hated server hoppers, but was it worth it?
gibonez replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
Yes we are happy. Server hoppers are scum. -
Just practice. General rule of thumb though is aim center mass with a 50m zero this way you hit center mass from 50m - 300m.

What are your biggest concerns and fears regarding the near/far future of the game?
gibonez replied to joe_mcentire's topic in General Discussion
Well you are right, the influx of new players have and will slowly transform the game into a casual snorefest with unrealistic characteristics. -

gibonez replied to joe_mcentire's topic in General Discussion
Biggest fear is the game will move away from its mil sim arma roots and the influx of casual noobs will help shape the game to be a more forgiving and casual game. We are already seeing some of that with unrealistic weapon behavior and characteristics. Then again I have more faith in the modding community than the actual developers so I am sure they would fix everything wrong in the vanilla game.- 156 replies

So if the M4 spawns are to be decreased dramatically as civilian weapons are added then...
gibonez replied to Jezza93's topic in General Discussion
The fact that you even need a particular type of plastic on the weapon and it affects accuracy is insanely stupid. That is like saying here let me attach these new grips on my 1911 it makes it a tack driver. -
The current implementation of the logout timer is trollish.
gibonez replied to airtonix (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
At the end of t he day the entire global hive system sucks. We need private hives. -
Only thing that is critical to immersion is the removal of 3rd person view.
-
Of course the point is you catch some people. Not everyone will get caught but is it not worth it to catch the majority ?
-
Yea using outside programs to talk to friends is perfectly fine. What I believe some people have a problem with is having those players be quiet almost feels like they have an advantage. That minor problem has a simple fix.
-
So your logic is since we cant stop them all we shouldn't try to stop or atleast catch most of the voice coms ? Forced in game voip is a simple addition that would catch most, the ones who still circumvent it would have always found a way to talk on comms and remain quiet, but at the same time they now have to go an extra mile to avoid being heard in game.
-
Not everyone will circumvent it, in fact most would be too lazy to do anything about it. Point is to get as many as you can this way.
-
Point is not to stop everyone from using this exploit but to get the majority of people to comply most people will not fire up another laptop in order to secretly talk to their friends. Most would just be more careful about talking.
-
only way to fix this is to force open mics in dayz. So anytime you talk for teamspeak or mumble you are also heard in game trying to talk to yourself. Would work in game too no longer would you fumble to remember what button it is to talk.

If I Spawn In Solnichniy One More Time I'll Puke.
gibonez replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
Waaaaaaah Now I have to explore and run to find supplies. Waahhhhh I can no longer just roam the coast and use up 3 percent of the surface area of the map. Wahhhhhhh -
They are rare now, as they should be. 3k dollar tactical scopes don't grow on trees.

More new items with pictures! Mosin Compensator!
gibonez replied to Zjasuu's topic in General Discussion
I probably should have used the word only. But what I said still stands. The only 2 extremely noticeable things that would affect a guns accuracy would be the ammo and barrel. Bipods , and muzzle breaks will not make the gun any gun more accurate. Might make the person firing the gun more accurate with the gun but the gun itself should shoot the same groups. -

gibonez replied to Zjasuu's topic in General Discussion
They improve the shooters accuracy with the weapon but what the game does is magically make the gun shoot much tigher groups when the bipod is deployed. In real life if a weapon has a bipod or not if it shoots at exactly the same location. Currently in dayz they have some bootlegged bro science with the weapons. Bipods should only stabilize the gun when deployed and when prone, not magically increase how accurate the gun is. -
As a result of this glorious man here. We should have this riot police/military gear be in dayz.

Rocket answers to everyone who complains about 3D view
gibonez replied to gamer222's topic in General Discussion
Realism aspect should not even be looked at. Like with all features in a game we have to see how game breaking something is. TPV is in every sense of the word game breaking it reduces any pvp encounter into an idiotic stalemate where one waits for the other to leave cover and using tpv can see and get the drop on them or it leads to people camping roofs or buildings to kill unsuspecting players. -
Honestly the shooting mechanics in Stand alone are complete shit. It is unsatisfying, unpredictable and full of inconsistencies. Everything from the unrealistic accuracy in the weapons to the elevation adjustment on the in game rifles and optics. Everything currently in Stand Alone is more in the real of Arcade and not the Military Sim that we grew to love in the mod. I propose they dump their current model and instead copy the ACE mod shooting mechanics and ballistics system. That should be how sniping and the shooting should be in Stand Alone.

Head bob should stay but it should be reduced somewhat. Sucks you get motion sickness try raising the fov playing in fpv only is a sublime experience really makes dayz better. -
It's hard to imagine Dayz not represent this tiny VASTLY popular round. With that said what 22lr rifles and handguns would you people like to see. Chances are these would be the most prevalent and common firearms alongside shotguns. I would personally like to see the following two 22lr weapons introduced first. Savage mark 2 The mark 2 is a 230 dollar 22lr rifle that is an absolute tac driver it can actually reach out to 500-600 meters when shooting with a 20 moa rail. Although at 600m it would do very very little damage this rifle would excel at taking out zombies from a little bit of a distance while remaining quiet and the rifle would be even better at taking out small game in the wilderness without drawing attention due to its low muzzle report. It has a internal 5 round box magazine. Ruger 1022 By far one of the worlds most popular 22lr rifles since it was introduced in 1964. It's popularity and performance have flooded this firearm with countless accesories everything from optics to complete stock kits are available for this nifty weapon. They come with 10 round magazines. So what 22.lr weapons do you wish to see included in stand alone.
