Help with measuring distance in game with naked eye

Currently any type of range estimation is mediocre at best. Especially with the duplex reticle on the long range scope. Hopefully eventually once Front Focal Plane mil dot scopes are added we can apply mil dot formula to not only players but objects such as windows around the map to determine range. This only works if rocket can lock in the FOV settings when aiming and if the mildot is a true mildot that does not change in size regardless of what your magnification is. -
That is the stupid part. The mosin nagant cannot take a rail mounted scope like the long range scope without heavy gunsmithing. Meanwhile the b95 can easily take that scope with simply a pair of rings. Yet in game the mosin takes the lrs and the b95 the accurate hunting rifle does not. Another thing that needs fixing is the excessive accuracy of the mosin. The mosin nagant while good for the price of 100 dollars is a hunk of crap in the accuracy department 4 moa at best with russian made hex receivers like the one in game using surplus ammo. Even worse if the gun has any kind of barrel damage or a damaged crown. You wont consistently be getting any 600m shots with a mosin in real life atleast not now, when the rifle was brand new and out of the shop then perhaps but not now after years of abuse and damage.

How would you like to see loot respawning done?

I would make none of the loot respawn if there is no loot at your location then venture north go in land and stop camping the coast. -
Screw bear traps give me IEDS and wire triggered means of detonation.

Say you are standing on that cliff the furthest person away would be perhaps no further than 700m yet on any computer screen in any resolution it would be hard to distinguish them. In person however you would easily be able to see the person 700m away if you knew hew as there this is sorta what the zoom in game is for. It is merely a bandaid to fix one of the limitations of monitors.

It is simulating resolution. Currently even at 4k resolution it is impossible to render the amount of objects on screen and the sheer distance that a human eye can see. This is why zoom is added. The human eye I read is somewhere near the 356 mega pixel region meanwhile even the highest resolution monitors or triple screen setups are not even a fraction of this. Because of this it is hard to render long distance objects in game and seeing how arma is a simulation game with long distance gunplay this could be a problem. Zoom is there for a reason.

When binoculars are implemented, will the zoom feature be disabled?

You know it buddy. They need to fix the FOV and zoom levels asap . BTW the lowest Magnification I have seen on Military Binoculars is 10x. Some are 20x on newer binoculars. Under 10x you might find if you look for ww2 or ancient binoculars. -

Only thing I got out of that was how messed up the movement is in dayz. -
yes and lets not forget the proper elevation adjustment. Pu scope can do elevation adjustments for up to 1200m.

Hopefully when more weapons are introduced they remove the lrs from the mosin. Pu scope is the only practical scope for the mosin given its real life accuracy.

that makes me wonder. Has any Arma game or mod ever gotten front focal plane optics and correctly sized mildots right ? Making mildots actually useful for ranging people and objects.

Thats the thing thought, we don't need respawning loot or zombies. we need buildings that don't spawn loot underneath the building and have every building properly spawn loot or not. Then people need to venture north and stay off he coast. Devs need to stop making the game easy to lazy players and force people to explore to find loot. -
Not impossible at all, infact I find it easier since they cant cheat and look around objects.

Persistent storage containers; do you like the idea or not?

Once private hives come to exist I am all for persistent storage containers. With a public Hive I would not be bothered with such things what is stopping some one from merely server hopping onto your containers location. -
Player rendering needs to be optimized. In arma 2 players can render at upwards of 5k meters. ACE mod I had players render at like 9k meters.

We need anti hack tools that somehow detect the hackers pc and stop them from ever purchasing a new copy or ever using the same steam id again. Thus they lose their entire steam library.

No campaign just discussing the possibilities if such weapons would fit in dayz SA far into the future once people have fortified bases. Currently it would make no sense of course. I am also all for civilian weapons my #1 wanted weapon in the game is a civilian hunting/ target rifle the Remington 700 in both .223 and .308. Heck of all my threads the most popular one was on discussing .22lr weapons and ammo types.

Not good enough. All hacking should be punished and he should be no exception although I am sure he has been caught multiple times and has had to buy new copies. Either way Dayz players should stop giving that cheater revenue and stop watching his videos.

When I am talking about mods I do not mean simple scripts like Self bloodbag, auto refuel, and tons of vehicles. I am talking about extensive total conversions that bring in new maps, totally new settings, new mechanics, base building etc. Essentially total conversions.
