    The fn fal can be found in nearly any conflict and part of the world its that prolific. The fn fal also has full auto btw but its really hard to control.

    The public reception for removal of third person view in Rust has been overwhelmingly positive. Those who did not like it at first are coming around same thing would theoretically happen in Dayz.

    The devs stated there are a few bolt action rifles incoming not including the Model 70 that is set to appear soon. I really want those.

    The 3rd person implementation from Operation Flashpoint to dayz has not changed. I find it alarming that the poorly incorporated third person view from 2001 is still around in 2015. Hopefully Bohemia as a company looks at it and finally brings it to 2015 standards to the benefit of gameplay.

    Looks really nice. I really love the forum suite you guys use for Dayz wish Bohemias forums also got that upgrade while the arma 3 forums are nice the forums here are much better.

    Ideas about sprinting

    It's kinda hard to grasp from the video but when you push forward, there is a tiny gradual amount of time before you move forward at top speed. There is no lag between when you press a movement key and when you move but there is some time before you go at full speed. In dayz and in arma 3 you press forward and its almost instant 100 percent of that directions speed instantly.

    AFAIK it is not in any of the loot tables especially since it really does nothing and no longer attaches to the mosin. So having it spawn at this point in time would be pointless.

    Yea the rage would be vocal at first but like all things it would diminish. However I still believe that the best approach would be a minor camera reposition to mitigate the problem itself without having to completely remove the viewpoint. Even something as simple as removing third person view when crouching or when prone would fix alot of the pvp problems. What I find utterly hilarious though is how the vast vast majority of the Rust population loves that 3rd person was removed, this is funny because Rust is not a game touting itself to be realistic. Quite the opposite. Yet the community has a clear understanding of how third person view is detrimental to gameplay.

    They don't necessarily have to have it have more long range punch. In fact they could do the opposite and have the .30-06 be the civilian variety a hunting round. A 220 grain round would do the trick , shooting out at a lower 2400 fps.

    Ideas about sprinting

    check out the movement on this. It has momentum where you start off slow then get speed, just like real life. I suspect something like that would fix all of t he problems in movement in dayz and arma hopefully especially the strange lame jerking motion that players always do moving left right left right instantly just so they wont get shot by snipers that looks so unrealistic.

    Here is something from another dev when dealing with third person view. It is now gone, they realized how insanely detrimental to gameplay third person is. This just shows you how important it is that the Dayz and Arma 3 devs at the very least look into mechanics to mitigate the wall peeking.

    Even if militaries would be involved without the logistical engine behind it there would never ever be anywhere near as many military weapons as seen in any warzone. Judging by how well kept everything is and how clean chenarus is it would be safe to assume that whatever events happened before the player arrives in the coast happened swiftly and before any military could form supply the area. That being considered the amount of even low end loot should be in low numbers. I do expect the end game loot to be extremely rare. Having so many spawn locations and then removing the overabundance of loot just serves to make loot even more unpredictable and thus improving the game. Would be nice if something as seemingly mundane like an akm with a magazine is something extremely rare and sought after that the mere sight of it excites people due to how uncommon it is. That canned food is so rare that it is usually stocked up due to being able to hold fresh longer than other food items.

    Why would anyone bother with fabricating armored cars in a post apocalyptic world when basic human needs like food and shelter are so dire. It's not a war zone with logistical centers providing supplies to each faction. It's a post apocalyptic zombie survival game where everything is scarce and people are struggling to survive. I say keep it out of vanilla and if people want to mod it then fine they can make a pvp focused arma lite if they wish.

    Why ? There already is far too much military loot, checkpoints would only add to this problem.

    I don't know you tell me. All from Ukraine . People need to take a step back and think about this for a second. Yes 50 cals are cool I guess but why add them ? 50 cal sniper rifles would add nothing to the game that cannot be done already, this is not arma we wont have to shoot at armored vehicles from 2000m , we wont have to destroy radar antennas from long range etc. Dayz is not a war game and something as outlandish and improbable as a semi automatic 50 cal would make zero sense in any kind of survival situation. *Yes im a starving hungry survivor who is poorly nourished let me carry around this 30 pound rifle plus all the other heavy essentials that I need to survive*

    Yea the amphibia was such a weird addition, wish it was a regular unsurpressed .22lr version so it could be civilian loot. You are right on the m67s. Reason why the pm73 makes sense as police loot is because it is an smg and the type of weapon I would expect the police force to have. mp5k would be perfectly fine as police loot too. The pump shotgun would also make sense as police loot especially in cop cars as its often issued for each vehicle.

    Hopefully it is looked at by not only the Dayz team but on behalf of all the studios at Bohemia Interactive. So that whatever solution/compromise/fix they find can be incorporated straight into the engine and we never have to suffer from such game breaking things such as wall peeking and how detrimental to pvp it is.

    That is the entire point. It is a crew served weapon with the ability to destroy a vehicles engine in 1 shot or penetrate even the thickets of bases or fortifications not some 360 no scope gun that you can jump spin prone headshot some guy.

    ArmA 3 Stances in DayZ

    I think we are both advocating for the same thing. Yet somehow we are not agreeing. I am all for Arma 3 style combat stances I want to be able to take cover and not expose myself. That being said the aesthetics of the animation and the way it looks has to not look like arma 3 for me. You can accomplish what you want without looking as ridiculously military like in arma 3. For example instead of this stance. Instead have this civilian stance Instead of this This civilian stance would work As for urban prone and some of the corny never used "tacticool" stances in arma 3 those can be outright removed.

    Yes. Those are pretty common knowledge. This is also with the assumption that the final product will even have these things as game mechanics. Everything and anything can be place holder trying to prove that these are anything but ordinary people this early because of what is obviously very early gameplay elements is futile. Everything in the game is contradictory at this point, the fact that its a survival simulator yet people sprint like motorcycles and have unlimited stamina, the fact that you can cure large caliber gunshot wounds by simply putting on a tiny piece of cloth on it and then eating food. The statement that these are ordinary survivors comes straight from the horses mouth and by all indications is hopefully the direction they intend to take and that is why thus a straight copy of the Arma 3 stance system with its ridiculously dramatic tacticool animations would not be a good fit.

    No the real problem is with 3pp mode even existing it was a legacy feature from Arma 1 that was meantto better facilitate the control of a squad. It has absolutely no role in a zombie survival game especially because of the insanely negative ramifications that it has on gameplay. Fixing if not outright removing third person mode should be their #1 priority when it reaches the time that they can focus on it. Camera reposition, Fog of war system / not rendering what you can't see, or any other fancy means would work but to leave the third person mode the way it exists now would be atrocious for gameplay and it suffers greatly already. Best case scenario is a solution is built directly into the engine for not only Dayz but for Arma 3 where third persons current implementation also devastates pvp and tvt game modes.
