Any 30mm rings would work. Meanwhile mounting it on the mosin requires tons of fun smithing and a specialized mount that perhaps only 100 or so exist.

Why wouldn't he in the last 20 years the deadliest small arm in us forces hands has been an mk12 spr. The mark 12 is a semi automatic m4 with an 18 inch barrel with a 1:8 rifling twist that let's it stabilize heavy.. 5.56 nato rounds such as the 77 grain Sierra match king. These new bullets easily go past 1000yards and deliver horrific wounds.

This makes no sense. Just put a pair of rings and the lrs mounts easily. It is far easier to mount a scope to an M4 than I would be to a mosin. Hopefully they rethink the accessories and have them be mountable in a realistic fashion. Meaning no bipods no western scopes on the mosin.

The mosin discussion has nothing to do with nationalism hell there are more mosins in American hands than in Russian hands. There is no bashing simply stating the truth mosins are not accurate rifles. -

That first precision rifle should have been the remington 700. It a 1 moa gun that easily takes any modern scope out bipod easily without gun smithing. The mosin taking bipeds and lrs is laughable. The mosin should be a iron sighted gun with the rare pu scope. -

They mosins you find in gun shops are the same mosins that people sell amongst themselves. All pieces of shit. The only good mosin is a Finish mosin. All Russian made mosins are 4 moa shooting trash. -

The Ak 74 is also much flatter shooting than the akm. The ak74 would be my go to rifle especially over a akm. The only way an akm would be better is if dayz had Arma 3s super cool bullet penetration and ballistics. I would imagine the 7.62x39mm would punch right through most walls and cover. -

Wtf go you just about any gun store and they will have hunk of junk mosins for sale for 100 dollars. Through film and television the mosin Nagant has been romanticized but the truth is that the rifle is a pos. -

Hmm the 5.45x39mm creates nasty wounds. Meanwhile the 7.62x39mm mostly just passes through people at least most of the common loads i know some of the loads were later made to yaw and spin like their smaller counterparts. Also no military will adopt the 6.8 or 6.5 calibers for a very long time if ever. 556 is here to stay it performs adequately and it is even performing well at long range with modern bullets like the 77 grain smk bullet. -

Yea weapon sway, recoil are all better ways to do weapon handling. Dispersion is not. Ace style weapons are perfect especially weapon resting and bipod deployment. -

Barrel length has little to do with accuracy. Barrel length means higher potential muzzle velocity. Some people say a shorter barrel is more accurate due to less barrel flex and whip. This would explain why shorter bull barrels are so accurate. -

Pretty much. Take a bone stock remington 700 and some match grade ammo and you got a sub moa rifle. With a mosin you would need a ton of work and a lot of money to even get close to the same accuracy. -

Not a lot of them Wtf? There are literally still millions of them and they only cost 100 dollars. For 100 dollars they are OK rifles but nothing close to being sniper rifles they are about 4 moa at 100m with surplus ammo and that's being generous. -

Dude do some research. The mosin Nagant surplus rifles you can find today are pieces of shit. They are not sniper rifles nor are they able to any sort of precision work . In order to make a mosin serviceable past 600m you will need to do a lot of gun smithing. -

Probably the new players do the ones who never played Arma or the mod. The random dispersion and the accessory mechanics are terrible. They make no sense for any game that has any resemblance of realism especially one with a mil sim heritage. -
Loot respawning isn't a big deal. Just go explore outside of the coast and find loot. Permanent day servers restart every 4 hours right that's plenty of time to find loot. Respawning loot is yet another care bear feature that isn't needed.
