Pistols too inaccurate as well as m4?!
gibonez replied to Sgt.BigBeasty's topic in General Discussion
Like stated earlier the pistol is perfectly capable of hitting past that distance problem is the user. Making the player in game sway like a real person while making the weapon as accurate as it is in real life is the way to go. -
Pistols too inaccurate as well as m4?!
gibonez replied to Sgt.BigBeasty's topic in General Discussion
100m head shots are entirely possible with a pistol. That is if you can hold the gun steady and know the right hold over. Yes a pistol is that accurate. Reason why 90 percent of people can't do that is not because of random dispersion like in the game. It's because it's hard to keep the hand gun steady for a shot at the range. -
Pistols too inaccurate as well as m4?!

Thats what bugs me a piece of plastic mounted on a rifle does not magically turn a gun from a scatter gun into a precision rifle. Those parts only affect the handling and weight of a weapon . -
I sure hope it is. Although I fail to understand why something like a guns accuracy would ever even be put in as a place holder. Weapon accuracy is information easily found online . I would have figured it would be best to just get the weapon accuracy right the first time instead of screwing the gunplay badly like it is currently.

What server exactly is that I need to come and fix that.

Thought that reasoning was already disproved and pvp remained the same regardless of zombie number, behavior or danger levels. people will always kill on sight atleast most will.

HOW CAN YOU BREAK A GAME AFTER FIXING IT!
gibonez replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
But that will never happen, zombies will always be janky. -
Would be amazing to have something like that in dayz. That appears to be a remington 700 with a harris bipod , mc millian a3 stock, and a schmidt and bender pm ii. Am I close ? Stocks on a precision rifle or some of the few accesories that actually change the accuracy in a precision rifle. Getting rid of the standard houge stock on a remington 700 and putting it into a stock with aluminum bedding blocks like the accuracy international stocks or the mcmillan stocks will give the rifle a tiny bit more precision nothing too drastic but at long range that tiny improvement could be a hit or a miss.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
gibonez replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Heh you know daam well without the rule of law people would go around killing each other. What would happen is certain people would probably band together and you would get a dynamic situation with warlords controlling different parts of the map. -
The player interaction, and environment make the game . Zombies are just a gimmick they added in the beginning of the mod and now are stuck with.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
gibonez replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Survive the exact same thing a person would have to survive from in a SHTF scenario. When the infrastructure that you depend on collapses, without rule of law, without grocery stores stocking fresh food and water. The environment itself is what you must survive. Imagine having to survive the environment, scavenge for food, build shelter or a more permanent home using your environment, having to fight off wild animals and at the same time hunt to sustain yourself. At the same time imagine having to do this with the constant threat of players who may or may not be friendly. The zombie mechanic was merely a gimmick that was added for the mod . It does not have to stay especially with how Dayz is transforming. I think if Rocket could do it all over again he would have removed zombies all together and instead focused more on the survival aspects of the game making the environment the constant threat. Not the gimmick of zombies. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
gibonez replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Here is some feedback. Remove the zombies completely, stop wasting server resources and dev resources trying to fix a gimmick that will always remain janky. Focus on survival aspects such as better hunting, scavenging. With the lack of zombies in place increase the player count dramatically. No point in wasting time making zombies feel right when at the end of the day they will always remain janky everyone knows this. -
Shame its not the vastly superior arma 3 ballistics. II would have loved realistic bullet penetration and damage. Not to late is it ? Still hope Bohemia once finished with Arma 3 can take over the project and dump the crappy engine for Arma 3 ?

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)

Zombies spawning period is a problem. They shouldn't magically spawn anywhere near a player period. When the server restarts all of the zombies that will be in the session should spawn on the map, this way you can clear towns, and take em over instead of seeing zombies spawn feet from you over and over. -
Yup new system is inconsistent. Old 12k or 16k blood system was very predictable, you knew exactly how many bullets to kill or how close someone was to passing out.

I speak the truth brohem.

Name 5 thinga you want the most for dayz asap.
gibonez replied to Serious Stan's topic in General Discussion
1. Ace sniping 2. Realistic weapon behavior 3. Realistic wounds 4. Realistic accessory use aka no LRS mosins, or pu scoped m4s. 5. Base building -
I only said the Mosin nagant is shit compared to any modern production hunting or precision rifle such as a Savage 10, or a Remington 700. Also the mosins accuracy you described fits exactly with what I said. The mosin is around a 4 moa gun and with that accuracy consistently hitting a man sized target at 300-400m is very doable. My problem is that the mosin in game is far too accurate people are out there making shots at 1200m with the mosin in game something that just wouldn't be possible with a stock mosin, using stock ammo. Real sin however is that the m4 is far less accurate than the mosin when that is not the case in real life.

The only solution for DayZ: Simulation.
gibonez replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Why not its a great thread with people actually discussing the game. Its not one of those shit threads that litter these forums lately you know the whole "Where is the LRS?" "To the bandit at balota ty" -
Zombie spawning being removed was one of the reason I bought stand alone. They promised this would not happen, they said all of the zombies in the server spawned when the server was restarted allowing you to wipe out zombies from a town and take it over now they added this crap again. Stand alone is slowly but surely getting worse. I mean for gods sake the mod was in better shape by this time .
-
Yup just what the game needs another military base.... heck the balota base needs to be turned into a civilian port .
-
Then the ak would group the exact same ten inches off the target. Misaligned sights doesnt make the weapon inaccurate it just makes it group elsewhere than intended.
-
I can only imagine how badly the devs would butcher the lmgs though. LMGS are typically extremely accurate but knowing how dayz has turned they would be even less accurate than the m4.
-
The inclusion of LMGS makes one wonder. Will ammo quantities be made available like they are in real life. Surplus 5.56 ,7.62x39 , 5.45x39 and 7.62x54 r are all available in large quantities. Perhaps they could include 2 types of ammo into the game. Surplus military ammo = slightly less accurate than civilian ammo but when found comes in huge quantities good for supplying a group of survivors or bandits with ammo and stockpiling at a base. Civilian match hunting ammo = Available in your standard box sizes, 20 rounds per box or rifle ammo extremely accurate, does slightly more damage due to hollow point.

That system was still better than what we have now.
