    Bows, bows and bows.

Waste of resources imo nobody will use the bows and in the end they will still be dodgy in their implementation

    make walking more attractive

Hopefully stamina does this and the silly sonic sprinting comes to an end
  3. IRL I dont think it would stop a pellet rifle. It is just thin plastic with foam inside.

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

Completely different communities. Rust seemed to acknoledge how bad 3pp was for the game early on. Dayz is too focused on finding sweet lootz and pvp by the coast to actually put any real thought on how bad 3pp in its current form really is

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

I don't think anyone is advocating for anything other than that. Even less so I think people are just hoping that Bohemia Interactive as a company looks into a fix so that peeking is no longer possible in third person for not only dayz but arma . People can't honestly expect the complete removal of the perspective but at the very least it can be brought up to 2015 standards and its negative impacts on gameplay diminished if not outright eliminated while keeping the perspective in for those who enjoy it and rely on it because of motion sickness.

    Ballistic helmets are too effective

http://www.theboxotruth.com/the-box-o-truth-29-the-helmets-o-truth/ Yes even pistol rounds penetrate ballistic military helmets. Times you hit the helmet is irrelevant especially when military rifle rounds for even the 5.56 were built to the spec of defeating such helmets at over 400m. The only reason you ever see helmets stopping rifle rounds in real life is probably due to them being hit with regular soft lead ball rounds with no steel penetrator. Most real military ammo has some kind of steel penetrator. CZ 52 7.62x25 Full penetration.

    ArmA 3 Stances in DayZ

Hunting stances for instance. They can achieve the same level of functionality as the Arma 3 stances while making the characters look like ordinary people with subtle changes to the animation .

    Death by Overheating.

What do you expect ghillie suits are insanely hot.
  9. Quite a simple thread. List game mechanics/ features from other games and why they fit with dayz style. Red Orchestra 2 : Free aim + manual bolting Free aim creates more depth in the game and ensures that it does not turn into a twitch shooter. Manual bolting is a feature in red orchestra 2 where when you fire a bolt action rifle you have to press the fire button one more time to pull back the bolt and load a new round in. This solves two problems in dayz that people seem to complain about . #1 - Bolt actions are not intuitive enough. #2 - Snipers complain that the gun loads by itself and you cannot see your impacts. Misery Mod - Stalker Masks/helmets affect vision This idea would be far more drastic. This idea would require that 3pp is removed from the game completely otherwise it would not make sense. Simply put none of the helmets, goggles, or masks in dayz have any drawbacks, they simply offer ballistic protection and have zero negatives. Misery by far one of the most immersive and scary games to date fixes such a dilema. The various helmets and masks in the game obstruct your vision in a realistic manner and the more damaged they get the less you are able to see out of them. So what game mechanics or features from other games would you like to see implemented within dayz ?

    ArmA 3 Stances in DayZ

My stance is bring the arma 3 stances with a Civilian aesthetic. None of those fighters in Syria even remotely look like the arma 3 characters. I believe you can mimic the functionality of arma 3s stances while not looking as silly and over the top military like arma 3 does. Arma 3s stances even look silly for a military game they are so over the top and silly at times , copying them exactly over to dayz would be even sillier since the characters are just regular civilians.

    suggestion to weight system

Yea it will probably be coming. Hopefully by the end it works like Arma 3 where your total weight affects stamina and movement speed just like real life. This in addition to slashing the sprint speed and movement speed on unburdened players would make the game so much better.

    ArmA 3 Stances in DayZ

There. Does not matter what you role play as in real life its not going to turn the survivor into a military trained character. I can role play as a Eastern European pornstar all I want but it will not give my character a 9 inch slong .

1911 & Makarov should not have suppressors

Completely agree. Realistic accessory integration please. No modularity for the sake of it.

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

Ic honestly already that demonstrates a prototype of how good a dynamic camera system would be. A camera that proactively prevents the player from using the wall peek crutch would do wonders for gameplay. I would simplify the camera by just making it move automatically to certain positions regardless of a wall in front of the player, so for instance when crouch the camera zooms in and adjusts to just behind the right ass cheek of the player, and when prone the camera focuses just behind the players feet making it impossible to see over walls. When standing your dynamic camera would be perfect as it would allow people to continue to enjoy the camera for looking at their players and for long treks but no longer abuse able for wall peeking during combat.

Brilliant, deserves its own thread. A camera like this would the problem while keeping everyone happy.

    AK sidemounts

I still don't see it as a realistic or plausible addition. It's really hard for me to show you just how poor the Russian Military is, especially when it comes to these things that are considered luxury. Hell up until recently the Russian Infantry would use foot wraps, they JUST NOW started using socks. Yes that is what Russian troops wore up until very recently.

    Nights are too bright.

don't worry the new render will hopefully mean we get something close to Arma 3 nights soon.

Guns you can't wait to see in DayZ?

The ump would be a perfectly fine choice. The greeses gun would be even better it has that post apocalyptic feel. I just hope they don't go with the mall ninja vector the smg that nobody uses yet is popular with the call of duty crowd.

    AK sidemounts

Once again those are not ordinary infantry units that make up the vast vast majority of the Russian Infantry. Those are the very specialized interior units and special forces units. You have to remember that Russia still largely depends on conscripts and the make up of their infantry is not like the west where we largely have a professional all volunteer military. Want a picture of what the average infantry soldier in Russia actually looks like ? Even their non conscript infantry does not have optics issued. I mean the Russians struggle to even provide their soldiers body armor you really telling me that the average soldier will have these specialized mounts. of course not. The guys you are posting are not your average soldier, they are special forces. Also a hugely important thing to note is that the vast majority of the optics and mounts you see in the pictures were not even government issued, the soldiers themselves procured it themselves as you can see with the non standardization of rails and optic choices. The russian military is just in early stages of modernizing its military its going to be quite a while before they start issuing optics in good numbers and they certainly would not do it now when the ak74m is already on the way out for the ak12.

    AK sidemounts

Popular in AMERICA. I am just saying those types of rails are not common in the Russian Military what makes you think they would be found at any capacity in a Chenarus. Keeping the AK stuck with ak style optics is a good gameplay decision too.
  23. gibonez

    AK sidemounts

Yup all in very very I mean Very limited numbers. The russian infantry is a poor one. It was not until 2006 that the Russian infantry even started getting regularly issued body armor. To this day in 2015 Russian Infantry still does not have NVGs issued to each soldier. The pictures you posted are extremely rare cases of either the soldiers buying their own rail adapters or specialized special units who have the luxury of mounting these highly specialized and not very common rail systems. So therefore the likelyhood of finding something like that in game is almost zilch. so yea lets not make it seem like this is very common at all. Pretty sure what they were talking about was railed mounts for bolt action rifles such as this one that is actually quite common.
