All this arguing over first person view and Tpv only solidifies my view that this fourth wall mod is the best solution. This mod would not alienate anyone both side would be satisfied. On top of this the potential benefits to gameplay would be astronomical.

Iron sights are quite doable there is a reason why the military only recently embrace optics for your everyday infantry man. Anyway look up 1000m service rifle matches. These are matches where people aim at 1000m with only iron sights. Regular people from all walks of life hitting paper each time. Yes 1000m is very doable with irons where optics shine is in target identification. Stand alone would benefit greatly if it had accurate true to life weapons and an extreme scarcity of red dot sights, acogs, and high end precision optics. A world full of iron sights would be fantastic.

I am truly trying to under stand your point of view but I honestly cant. So let me get this right you like the "feature" of seeing over cover and around cover while prone and out of sight ? Why ?
-
Aaahhh this thread again. Each and every day without failure the same thread pops up.
-
They would because the problem would have been fixed. You think first person only players only player that mode because they hate third person view of course not. They hate seeing around corners and peeking over cover and how detrimental it is to the gameplay. Yea and the mod would give people everything they want. People that like TPV could enjoy it while people who hate peeking over walls and over cover no longer have to worry about that.
-
Ideally people would play in 1pv only however people have friend , friends who are new and might want to try out "normal" servers first. However the main question you must ask yourself is " Why wouldn't you want a solution added in place for normal servers where the enemy only sees you if you yourself are able to see them ?" Is this not beneficial to the game ? should people not be at equal risk.

How is the render distance a problem or fuck how is the group of players at fault here. This is a sandbox and they can do as they see fit. If they find enjoyment in killing fresh spawns there should be nothing set in place to protect the fresh spawns. Whats with the hand holding or the thought that we should make sacrifices to the render distance merely to protect some groups of people in unlikely situations.
-
Not only are gun spawns dumb at the moment so are weapon magazines. Pistol spawns in particular are poorly handled. Spawns should make sense so when you see a m1911 you should see items that would be stored with it nearby within a foot of the item. a single loaded magazine or a few or a box of ammo with the weapons ammo should all spawn in the vicinity.
-
To fix an inherent problem that is looking over cover, and around cover without any risk to the player. Once they fix this bug or fix this gameplay exploit they move on to the next issue and attempt to fix that next. Such as seeing thru walls like you mentioned earlier.

Rendering players past 3km should be a priority. ACE does a fine job I have cranked up the settings and have been able to see players at 10 km while you cannot see the players without optics it helps in keeping watch when you have a pair of binoculars. As far as gameplay is concerned long view distances where players are rendered result in more careful and thoughtful gameplay. You would be able to spot groups at kilometers away and then decide how to either AVOID them or Engage them.

Add a parameter where fade is determined by distance. Anything closer than 100m does not fade, but things past that distance fade in longer the distance longer it takes to fade in. Seems like an easy solution.
-
Those are all in game but nowhere near the as severe as thy would be in real life. The weapons in game feel like t hey are being held by a robot super stiff.
-
Yup hopefully they port over tons of stuff from Arma 3. especially that.
-
Yea I really am hoping they dump the unrealistic weapon accessory mechanic and incorporate an accurate system that is realistic. With such a system weapons that can easily take a scope take it. No more mosin nagants with brand new modern day optics that would be a pain to mount and cost nearly 20x the price of the gun itself.

The Ruger MKII Is Coming, But Whats It Like?
gibonez replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
Mine fires approximately 2 feet high at 20 m. -
Why because it can in real life. The pseudo realism bullshit accessory system need to go. At this rate they might ass well add a gp25 for the mosin.
-
isnt there a theater section for this ?
-
I think the LRS ( just a telescopic scope) should mount only on weapons that it would mount on in real life with little tools and no specialized parts that only a hand ful of people posses. Currently in game the weapons that easily take any modern optic are, the M4, blase , sporter 22. That is all , the caliber of a weapon should have nothing at all to do with what accessories can be mounted or not.
-
The m4 is also flatter shooting and more accurate two qualities that are very desirable in a long range weapon. While powerful sure the akm is not as accurate, and the round drops much more .
-
Woa thats some accuracy out of that gun.
-
Reason they probably removed the LRS from the SKS is probably because you cant just mount a modern western scope on the sks without proprietary third party mounts. Same could be said about the mosin nagant so hopefully they remove the LRS from that weapon and move it to the blaze 95 , sporter 22 and m4 the only weapons currently in game that could mount a scope with no third party tools.
-
Yup The only semi autos I know that can take multiple calibers are 9mms can sometimes safely shoot .380 auto.
-
Once crafting is a very doable thing and works just as well as other games like minecraft and rust. I would love black powder .50 cal hunting rifles. These weapons are surprisingly accurate and powerful things of beauty in a sense of how the combine old traditions with modern technology.
-
That gun is a given. It will be added eventually it just seems like one of those russian firearms that makes complete sense to add.
-
You would still be able to see around corners. Only reason solutions are either remove it outright. or Implement a mod like suggested.
