But different bullets are given more or less wind drift. Heavier bullets with higher ballistic coefficients buck the wind easier than say lighter bullets. This is the main reason why the .308 is preferred for long distance shooting when the 5.56 is just as able to reach those distances.

All of this would be fixed with private hives.

Yea I see this happening also. as soon as mod tools are released and people move to private hives and away from the central vanilla game the mods themselves will address this issue even if the main game chooses not to. I still hope the devs see the importance of removing this problem, not only for dayz but for arma also.

Skyrim was good but it was so watered down because of consoles. So dumbed down. Morrowind remains the best Elderscrolls game.

Ammo scarcity is fine at the moment. Only thing that bugs me is the amounts that ammo spawn in. I would like to see ammo cans of ammo spawn around the map too with mil surp ammo in their appropriate quantities. 22lr also spawns in too low of quantities. Minimum I have ever seen 22 lr being Sold in the store was in a 250 round box most were 500

I have a large monitor so i prefer 90. Sadly you get penalised for larger fov like reduced view distance and more importantly players render at shorter distances. -
Does Dayz Standalone have the worst zombies in any game ?

I was playing earlier for the first time in quite a while and it struck me while playing. I immediately though holy crap this games implementation of zombies is horrendous . Just as I said that one of those pesky respawning zombies spawned about 20 m in front of me and without me moving or the zombie looking in my direction it just charged at me. After dispatching it with my axe the zombies constantly came one after another all of them I was able to see spawn in as if teleported by god himself. One has to ask has any game done zombies worse than Dayz ? -
I don't the zombie thread level should even be looked at until they can manage to not make zombies clip through the geometry, fix the melee, and nail dog the hit detection.

Entire spawn mechanic of zombies is terrible. Why not have all of the zombies at the start of the server. Then those zombies do not come back or spawn, then after say 2 hours selected areas where no players are in have fresh zombies spawn in.

Hmmm Taliban, Hamas, Chechnian rebels, Russian special forces etc. Lots of people are well trained and use aks. People fail to give the ak variant rifles the respect they deserve, they are absolutely devastating especially when used within a squad volley fire on targets.

I was in the middle of the woods and was by no means overrun. I merely killed the 2 that came at a time, crouched and waited 5-10 seconds and could see brand new zombies spawn with all of their full jankyness. -
Overall shit and is in a worse state than the mod was at this point in time. Worst part is how stand alone by far has the worst zombies I have ever seen in any game.

It is already watered down man. The weapon dispersion, the arcade damage and ballistics are all the console watered down influence bro.

That is because he cannot hack in stand alone , spawn himself some weapons and gear then set himself up in the scenarios that he could in the mod.

Perhaps. Reason I felt it was a given is because of how unique of a weapon it is and how iconic it is within the eastern European post apocalyptic genre. When I think of the Vintorez I think of Stalker. Not only that I think of how unique the weapon is and how unique it is to gameplay. The weapon is a short range precision firearm that fires a subsonic hard hitting round that has alot of bullet drop. The weapons gameplay potential is huge.

The quality of military issue ammo you would find for a m4 is substantially higher than the quality you would find for the mosins. Quality control of military issue 5.56 nato rounds is very good. Meanwhile the surplus ammo that the soviets for 7.62x54r and 7.62x39 varies in quality. Different factories produced different qualities of ammo and none of the available russian/ surplus ammo is match quality.

In reality they are no more noisy than any other rifle. They actually tend to be quieter than most assault rifles since most battle rifles have long barrels, the shorter the barrel the louder it is.
