Yea I like the Romero philosophy on zombies. They are never the big danger but they are a constant pretense. I'm Romero movies people are always the real danger. -
3km view distances are vital man. How else are you supposed to spot distant game when hunting is in. How else will you spot threats. Heck with out long render and view distances many items become useless like binoculars. If people are worried about performance issues then perhaps have a slider so people with older computers can lower their view distance and gain performance.

Spawn timer I can deal with. Assign zombies at the start of the game to sections of the map. When those zombies are killed begins say a 1 or 2 hour timer for them to respawn. If no player is in the section in 2 hours fresh zombies spawn. -

No need for stingers a hmg or squad of players shooting a chopper should bring it down. -

How is that a bad thing. Rewarded for killing zombies you get a peaceful server. It's better than breaking immersion by having any zombie spawn in. -

Why wouldn't it. Spawn a high number of zombies at the start of the server I mean high number. High value loot areas get more zombies such as airfields. To get military loot would then require a ton of risk since you would then fight a hoard of zombies. If you stumble on the airfield and see lots of zombie corpses or an empty airfield you know it's been raided. I don't see any situation where spawned in zombies are good for the game. Zombie spawns should be tied to loot not players approaching buildings. -
Skip to around 24 minutes question about winter. Rocket mentions wind affecting bullets and mentions clicks. Hopefully this means full blow sniping revamp ace style.

Sniping should be a chore. The more sniping in dayz mirrors real life the better. I want people to be forced to write notes when sniping

How the heck would you mount a crossbow on your hip. Crossbows are huge.

Didn't they promise early on that all the zombies that spawned would spawn upon server restart. Allowing the players to clear towns and take over real estate? Having zombies spawn when players enter the vicinity of loot leaves us back where the mod left off. So again what's the point? -

The road the game. Have the environment be a threat focus on farming, building, creating stuff, player count and no gimmicky zombies. -

You guys have no idea how much better the game would be without zombies. The zombies themselves ruin so much of the gameplay. They act like alarms I use them now to tell if a town is occupied. -
Wind ballistics works well in ACE mod, countless other arma 2 and Arma 3 mods. They could bang that out quick an indepth complex shooting mechanic would take time though. zombies well i have no faith in those forever buggy.

Did you read the thread ? Nobody is asking to remove 3pp. The thread is about a mod that could potentially fix all of the grievances some players have with 3pp and then finally get rid of the 2 hive system in place now. so that the community is not fragmented and is on the same hive. The mod lets you keep your third person view nothing would change for you.

Yea I was hoping that was what dayz would have become. Amongst a group of friends people took dedicated roles fitting what they do best. You would have a dedicated medic who is familiar with treating wounds, (if dayz adopts a more complicated medical system aka ACE medical) You have a dedicated sniper a person you guys trust to fire at extended ranges and play overwatch that has learned the chore of sniping and performs it best in your group Dedicated pilot one who has learned how to quickly turn on a helicopter and pilot it safely especially if they adopt flying like this Dedicated hunter in a group who has mastered hunting and tracking animals down. Wish everything in the game was in depth and complex so that people could master different facets of the game.

Zombies are here to stay. Sadly I don't think this is the best decision. Dayz is evolving into one kick butt survival sim. Removing zombies would remove server strain, and could divert the devs attention to further the survival aspects and increasing player counts. For me Zombies are merely a played out gimmick in the video game industry. Dayz could have shined without it and will very much shine with zombies too but they will still remain a gimmicky gameplay mechanic. I would have rather played the version of dayz without spawning zombies, that focuses completely on realism, survival, scavenging, battleing the elements and wilderness and player interaction over just open world zombie game that it is now. -
It isnt in because it snot realistic. Just wait for private hives I am sure there will be a script to show player kills in the bottom corner , weapon used, and distance. Rather simple script and someone always makes one.

Fuck the show is boring as fuck because they are not. Daam show spends 1 hour showing a person do a simple thing like chopping wood. Show moves at a snails pace.

Yup this is the anti game remember. Not all features are there to convenience you, some are there to encourage you to play the game in certain ways. sure to you it can be seen as complete bullshit but to others like myself I see it as a means to encourage more in game talk while at the same time negating the huge advantage a voip program like teamspeak and mumble gives to clans. -
They wouldn't if the player has no idea what he is doing. I feel like the game should give you the tools to make your character as good as possible. Make the game as realistic as possible to real life knowledge and skill takes effect in game and then if the player does his homework and is good it will reflect in game. So no random RNG mechanics like bullet deviation, give the weapons the tools to be able to make a 1000m shot with an hunting rifle if he is skilled enough, has the correct dope and has the patience. If this is all done, if the game is as realistic as possible your fear of every one being expert snipers would never happen. Because just like real life not everyone is able to judge distance, know where to hold off, correctly crunch math and get a good dope etc. ACE is a good example, ace turns sniping into such a chore that you actually see far less snipers but at the same time it does not limit potential so the ones who stick around and practice are insanely good far better within ACe than they could have been in vanilla arma.
