    Boxes look like surplus 7.62x54r. I think its just a typo.
  2. See those are all common ammo types. Ammo calibers that share commonality with lots of weapon systems . What I am worried is about obscure calibers making their way in the game. Calibers such as .50 beowulf, or .300 blackout, or 408 cheytac.

    Yup. 22 lr for example long range would be anything past 150 yards. 300 + yards would be extreme range. meanwhile a .223 would laugh at 300 yards.
  4. No thats not what im worried about at all. Different bullet types is fine. What im talking about is too many calibers of firearms especially exotic, uncommon rounds things like .408 cheytac for example a round that probably only 2 weapons are chambered for in the world and probably less then 100 are in circulation right now.
  5. Yea its great when it makes sense but would you really want to see a weapon in .454 casull and only one weapon that has this ammo or some exotic wild cat cartridge ? These types of guns just arent common so seeing these type of ammo types around would be weird.
  6. Zombies spawning period is stupid. Especially when they spawn anywhere near a player. Could be worse I guess remember the stupid spawning zombies from the mod , even spawning in the middle of the woods 20 feet away from a player.

    This mod should not be implemented at the server level but in the game then given as a server option. Much like name tags were in the mod.

    Really wish they would turn chenarus into a big island then pepper the entire island coast with spawns.

    All this bickering would end if the mod were added. Both sides would have zero reasons to complain if its added and they would move on to the next serious problem in the game.

    There comes a point where you ask yourself is it worth the hassle. Lots of ACE servers kick you out if you don't run the game on their TS server with ACRE on. Private hives forcing acre and Teamspeak would rock in dayz.

    The 3km view distances and player rendering does not specifically cater to sniping. It is extremely useful for all aspects of the game everything from hunting (being able to see a long distance elk or deer and then stalking it and getting close without it noticing you. Useful for spotting dangerous situations from a distance. Great overall just for the look of the game. I can see your concern about being shot from over 1km but rest assured it is unlikely, a 1 km + shot is already difficult combine that with wind and you will very likely not get shot from those distances.

    It does though. I tested it a few times with friends. Players render out further with the FOV set a low. Increase the FOV and they stop rendering. This was tested using a mosin and a pu scope.

    I don't think the currently available hardware is the problem. Problem seems to be optimization.

    Nothing will happen to rift now that Facebook bought it. It will still remain a kick ass VR set. Only difference now is that it has the might and money of Facebook behind it to R&D better hardware, for custom designing pieces instead of oursourcing them.

    Very minor inconvenience for what it adds to the game. Just mute your mic if its such a big concern.

    Ding ding ding ding. Large potion rather keep the unrealistic features and turn this into any other regular arcade shooter.

    Why would that be a factor at all ? people will be eating crow in a few months when the new version of rift is announced the new version that benefits from millions of dollars of R&D from facebook. A lighter, better, rift with custom parts.

    Rocket and the devs should do a Q&A here . Everyone here knows dayz and has played it since its inception. Anyways best news from the Q&A and rezz presentation is the confirmation of wind affecting bullets and the hint that we might be getting a ACE style sniping mechanic.

    All fixed with mic sensitivity controls. My mic for example cannot even pick the tv being on or music being played .
  24. I wouldn't mind being able to attach things to helicopters such as a barrel bomb like the ones used in syria. Primitive stuff they simply fill a barrel with explosives and then toss em out of a plane, or helicopter the momentum makes it explode when it lands. Maybe once crafting is made explosives could be thrown out the rear to assault enemy bases.
