Another problem with iron sight aiming in standalone is the smoke produced by the guns. Almost like the devs have the guns shooting black powder
-
Not a bad idea. I would not be opposed to a filter being applied to anything the player cannot see. Say things you cant see have a blur filter on them to give the player an instant notification of what you cannot see.
-
Yea but you understand why it poped up right ? It poped up because you could have not physically seen it . Your vision was blocked by an object thus regardless if its not rendered or not it ment you couldn't see it or shouldn't see it.
-
Isn't that the point ? To add weapons that fit for the setting and would make sense. Exotic weapons and exotic calibers are not the way to go.
-
So magically seeing over walls and cover does not ruin your immersion and atmosphere ?
-
It's not boring or bland. The MP5 is the premier smg. When you think of a sub machine gun no gun has more prestigue or success than the mp5. It has been adopted in what more than 90 militaries throughout the world and thousands upon thousands of police departments. It is cheap, accurate and effective. It truly is a magnificent weapon.
-
That would work as well. But I like the arrow idea better because it is simple and works. This is like the compass in stand alone, the compass in standalone is overcomplicated and nearly useless meanwhile the compass in the mod was useful. The arrow I would imagine is what I would imagine is the result in licking your finger and pointing up you can instinctively feel where the wind is and what direction its going and the relative speed.
-
Exactly like this . Shift k Arrow shows up temporarily with the direction of the wind , color of arrow indicates a rough wind speed. Perhaps longer you live the more accurate the wind speed reads. Then you adjust the mils or moa on your scope according to what you think the wind is. ACe method works really well.
-
WTF is up with that reload speed. Garbage unrealistic crap. .............. you can also mount rail accessories............. I give up on this game , WE need mod tools NOW!!! Hope this is fake.
-
I hope a stamina system is added and this auto run just leads to people dying from passing out and overworking their heart :)
-
Terrific news. I am all for more weapons that use very common ammo no more annoying hunting for obscure ammo or seeing weapons that are obscure and rare in the real world be in the game.
-
Yea his suggestion completely negates the purpose of the game. Makes the game easy. What I cannot comprehend is how he can try to twist it and say its the opposite.
-
Yea I would be delighted with - Increased sway that is realistic - Ability to deploy bipods or emplace a weapon on a surface to negate sway. - Real life accuracy values added for all the weapons. - Wind to further add to the realism - MOA/MRAD elevation adjustments to make sniping actually require practice and skill. Give that and I am sure most people will be satisfied.
-
It stems from the uselessness of the bow and cross bow. A musket would have been more useful.
-
I hope not. More realism and mil sim aspects please.

Empty bases would be rare. You honestly think they are going to make base building doable for a lone person? Base building will require a group of people and tons of resources. These bases with multiple people will be defended at all times.
-
That sounds terrible. Like an easy mode. Without risk there is no payoff.
-
Well guess what if you weren't there to defend the base tough luck. The game should not hold your hand just because you can only dedicate a tiny bit of time.
-
It's not about danger or not. It's about a simple question. Should a player not be vulnerable at all times? It's a matter of persistence.
-
So what you are saying is if its added you would adapt again ?
-
How is it cheap and unrealistic. Do people not sleep in your world ? Either buddy up or guess what you would be easy pickings. Simply vanishing from the world with all of your best belongings on you is what is cheap. Game lacks any danger and persistence thats a problem.
-
WTF ? Shouldn't it be the opposite. You know the persistence applies to everyone. They would be just as susceptible to it as you would.
-
1, KOS is prevalent because life means little in dayz, having your character posses resources on him that he is trying to get back to base will make him avoid conflict. 2. "safe" areas would be in the woods hidden from people, fortified locations that you barricated , player bases or communities that a group of friends use to look after each other. 3. You cannot cater to any group in dayz, the disadvantages that lone wolves would have if sleeping would be introduced would be no different than real life, safety in numbers has always been a thing. Lone wolves actually stand to benefit from this, smaller profile = less enemies targeting them they can have a remote base that does not have a large profile and live in peace.
-
Still a better solution than whats in place now. Just disappearing out of thin air makes for terrible gameplay its the reason why combat logging and kos is so prevalent. Being vulnerable at all times will force people to exit in a safe area or fortify a location and team up with players to keep each other safe. The rust sleep mechanic builds communities of people who help each other out .
-
They won't use that argument. They would use a somewhat justifiable argument that if implemented incorrectly it could be immersion breaking to see people pop out of thin air, but at the same time seeing people over walls and cover isnt immersion breaking ? Sadly alot of the people making the argument against this feature simply want to keep the periscopes in the game and the gameplay would and does suffer because of it.
