Yea hopefully its just a joke. they have been pretty clear on the lack of military and obscure firearms in stand alone.

I think it's a crappy attempt to stop kos. I don't like it. Just ruins my beans when I shoot people.

probably arma 2 left over files.

Can Nothing be done about MetaGaming in Dayz?
gibonez replied to yorkmorgan's topic in General Discussion
You would. You would just end up sending alot of instant messages until you could meet in game,. -
Is it realistic though ? Shooting someones arm resulting in everything in his backpack and shirt being ruined ?
-
If they don't update stable this month who cares. So long as they continue to make progress and test things in experimental that is all that matters.
-
With a random spawn you could spawn in the wilderness, or a town, or the coast, it would all be random.
-
Suiciding will be almost gone if there is random spawns. I would imagine it would be pretty time consuming to find a town or then somewhere to climb and kill yourself from.
-
Yup random spawns would be soo good. - Map more populated - No concentration of coastal towns - Better player distribution - Better initial challenge.

It wouldn't be out of the ordinary, in ace servers detect if you have acre running or not if you do not the server automatically kicks you out. -

Is it potentially possible for the game to detect if 3rd party chat apps are running ? if so then dayz could tell the player to turn them off so they can continue to play. -
Can Nothing be done about MetaGaming in Dayz?

This has nothing to do with an unfair advantage or not this is about encouraging and thus making in game communication valid. Only way to do this is to disallow 3rd party coms. -
Looking back, Do you think that EA release was a good idea?
gibonez replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
Early access was super important. Simply because it catches problems early. Imagine if the game was complete and finished with all of the unrealistic gamey characteristics of this early alpha. Imagine how pissed people would be if the game released with the crappy weapon dispersion, the unrealistic ballistics and the countless other things that have been a source of massive outrage. -
Can Nothing be done about MetaGaming in Dayz?

Dayz is the counter game. It is the anti game and realism achieves that. People did not support dayz from its first weeks as a mod because they wanted just another video game. They did because they wanted the most unforgiving, brutal things they can get. They want disentary, they want diseases they want a harsh and unforgiving environment and to achieve that they need to encourage in game comms and disable third party comms somehow. It is vital for dayz. -

Gamma exploit could surely eventually be fixed. It is not a problem in Arma 3. Third party comms can be fixed by somehow mirroring what is said on the mic at all times in game and disabling push to talk. Or outright disallowing teamspeak or mumble or any of the 3rd party voip programs to be running at the same time as dayz . Fov exploit can be fixed by a 4th wall mod and locking in the fov settings to one setting when aiming your gun so FOV does not affect perceived magnification. -
Best sniping sports Dayz SA? Most populated town?
gibonez replied to ioanmatei6200's topic in General Discussion
:/ calling what is in dayz sniping is kinda funny. Nothing about "sniping" in stand alone requires skill or talent. I really can't wait for proper wind, and real elevation adjustments to be added. -
Absolutely the fact that some people actually want this frightens me as to where dayz will be heading. I really hope they do not keep on catering to the casual gamers and make dayz more unforgiving more realistic.

I really hate to say it but it finally hit me the unrealistic attachment system in Standalone is a straight rip off COD. The similarities between these two games when it comes to the attachments is alarming and frankly makes me sad as a long time Bohemia fan. Both games have universal attachment systems meaning even weapons that could not mount certain optics, bipods or stocks are able to somehow magically mount them. This can be seen in COD with every optic working on nearly every assault rifle, sniper rifle, smg and pistol in the game, this can be seen in SA with the LRS mounted on the mosin this is despite the lack of a drilled and tapped receiver. COD and Stand alone both also have accessories that magically make the weapons dispersion smaller or larger. This is seen in stand alone with magpul parts somehow magically making the gun much more accurate this is despite the fact that in real life adding rails , magpul plastic parts or any other combination of them would do ziltch to increase the accuracy of an ar15. Sadly Stand alone has borrowed from casual games such as Battlefield and COD when it comes to attachments, the lack of realism in the alpha is saddening especially considering the pedigree of military sims that the game came from. Also one of the biggest factors that made the mod so popular.

I would assume their is already a person at Bohemia that does this already. Rocket was also in the military so he should know.

In this thread we come up ideas to add more depth and complexity to not only gameplay concepts already in game but whole new concepts that benefit the game. In order to make the thread easier to read we should post in the following format. [idea] - Main tittle of your concept [Picture] - A illustration or image that generally covers your idea [Description] A brief description of your idea and how it would improve gameplay and how it should be incorporated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Less useful Rags - Currently in game you are able to treat any life threatening wound from a zombie bite all the way to a high powered rifle shot to the chest with a simple rag that has been torn from a tshirt. This is completely unrealistic. What I am proposing is a new medical system where the rag does not immediately stop the bleeding but instead it only soaks up the blood, different wounds will bleed at different rates, while a small wound such as getting slashed by a zombie would be able to eventually stop the bleeding with as little as a single rag, heavier wounds such as gunshot to a vital area such as the neck or heart would require more than 1 rag. This new gameplay mechanic could be useful because it would add higher value to medical supplies such as bandages that could potentially absorb more blood and thus be of higher value than rags torn from ordinary clothing. ------------------------- So now I would like to hear from you guys on gameplay mechanics and how more depth can be added to improve them.
-
Why would you think they would read this ? What are the chances of the guy who killed you reading this in this thread right now ?
-
Seriously anyone else curious why there is still a crosshair ?

Streamers make Day Z SA look like so much action happens.

Gaming requires you to sit on your ass while you move a mouse or a controller around. It requires no physical exertion or athleticism therefore it will never be a sport and will always be laughed at. When there is a possibility for an athlete to be a 400 pound lard ass with Cheetos dust all over his desk that activity is immediately not a sport. -
What are the most popular VoIP programs for DayZ?
gibonez replied to tatchell (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Absolutely there are any number of fixes to circumvent the mirroring however those lazy would not bother. That alone is worth it.
