Is it also against the law to store your guns with your magazines. I am not asking for ammo to be in the mags just that every weapon spawn include 1 or 2 empty magazines for the weapon because it makes sense for a gun to be stored that way. More importantly because magazines a fundamental part of a weapon they are not a luxury, a magazine is an absolutely vital part of a functioning weapon and like gews said spawning a magazine fed weapon without any magazine is like spawning a revolver without a cylinder or a rifle without a bolt. It makes little sense to not do so from a realism stand point and a gameplay stand point. -

I was just messing with the mosin in stand alone and I realize how horrible it feels. I wish the bolt actions were even half as satisfying as the bolt guns in Red orchestra 2 then the game will be going places. - Manual bolting - weapon resting - free aim mechanics get those in the game and gunplay will be terrific. -
It's the devs fault for making that a viable strategy. The player should not even be able to align the sight

The mosin nagant is a military service rifle . It is by no means a sniper rifle heck the version in game cant even take optics so I am not sure why it does. Anyway the mosin has a spread of about 3-6 feet at 800m. In game its a bit too accurate and the sks is a bit too inaccurate, the m4 is insanely inaccurate. m4, sks, and mosin the most accurate gun of the 3 would be the m4. -

Yea the aiming is very very jerky and for some reason it appears that the up and down movement is faster than the left to right movement. -

Yea but they are both sims so at their core the shooting should both be simulations, simulations of real life yet the shooting is worlds apart. -

They are similar enough that you can. Both are possibly sims, and stand alone could stand to borrow ALOT from arma 3 and its engine. Stance system , bullet penetration system, the player distance rendering system and most importantly the performance of arma 3. -
I wish there was a system where instead of random dispersion happening the players would misaligned the sights if he was in a tired state out of breath or if he had no rear sight. This could atleast be countered with skill and experience unlike RNG dispersion currently in game. This would also put importance on rear sights in weapons due to them being critical for aligning the weapons .

Prisons + police stations yes those are places i would expect pistols. However homes are also places where I would expect a pistol to be found along with magazines. -

To show that I am not a negative nancy I must commend the devs for their latest experimental patch it goes a long way to correcting the crappy shooting mechanics by adding 1:1 mouse movement and the new free aim system is really cool too. However the single biggest improvement that experimental has is the ability to focus in when aiming down iron sights, this makes iron sights useful at their intended ranges even if the weapons themselves are not due to the unrealistic dispersal and weapon attachment system. Theoretically now a player can make 300m-500m shots with open sights given the weapon is realistic. -

I wouldn't be looking at military bases either. Seeing as pistols are not usually a military issued weapon and usually only officers are given pistols. -

I quite like the arma 3 system it is the first game in the arma series to have realistic gun sway. Standing up and aiming a rifle your weapon sways correctly and makes even 300 m shots difficult. Although it does need some things such as weapon resting and workable bipods. -

Even with 1:1 mouse movement the guns and firefights feel vastly inferior to me atleast compared to the mod. I can't pin point it down to dispersion or the way the weapons handle but overall it just feels really poor. -

Why not the fnx isnt exactly a military weapon its a civilian gun through and through. -
what you are asking for is that without a rear sight the game does not align the sights correctly not for random dispersion right ?

Crossbows have a far higher draw weight than compound bows. -

It's a shame because that weapon should probably be the most common weapon its quiet, kills zombies quickly. readily available and ammo is plentiful. Same with the amphiabia although I wish they had a regular non silenced ruger pistol too. -

Even with soft body armor the 5.56 round carries enough energy to break your chest cavity in and probably destroy your heart. A steel plate or ceramic plate yea you would survive that pretty intact. Maybe when a weight system is in place they can accurately model the effects of soft body armor vs rifle rounds. That is a simple 9mm round that does that damage to the clay. Imagine a rifle round with exponentially more energy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cvZC7tQM8k 9mm again and thats with a trauma plate that absobs the force. Finally a tiny .380 round or .32 acp and look at that nasty wound. -
yea there is no 550 in .223/5.56 Closest I can find that would work is the cz 527 lux it comes with irons and a nice finish.

I don't think people are asking why the cross bow is so powerful. think people are asking why the m4 or most of the firearms so weak. If the crossbow kills to 1 shot to the chest you bet your ass the m4 should too. -

So long as zombies spawn in zombies will never be fixed. Spawn all the zombies in the game at server start or don't bother spawning any at all. Magically spawning zombies 40-50 feet away from a player constantly is stupid. -

Funny thing is this was also a problem in the mod and it was addressed by having ammo always spawn with weapons. I am not asking that as ammo is common enough what isn't common or logical is how magazines are distributed. -

that is part of the problem it makes little logical sense for a weapons magazine to be kept km away from the weapon itself. Why would the gun owner store his magazine miles away from the pistol at some military base. Ammo is not a problem with this suggestion. This is about whether or not an essential part of a weapon being with a firearm or not. Magazines are essential to the function of a magazine fed weapon. They are just as critical to a weapon as a cylinder in a revolver is or a bolt is in a rifle. The root problem is how this decision to spawn magazines randomly affects the games balance and or player decision. You see it all the time due to magazines how many times have people dropped a fnx for a revolver how many times have people dropped their fully kitted m4 for a mosn or an sks. The way the game handles magazines creates artificial balancing issues , nobody in their right mind would ever drop a modern m4 for a mosin nagant yet in game its super common.
