    This is also 1:1 mouse movement yet it remains sim like and does not turn into a twitch shooter. That is what they need to emulate.
  2. One just has to ask themselves a simple question for this suggestion to make complete sense. Would the mosin nagant be as sought after if it required magazines to be loaded, would the sks ? Would people actually walk around with the sporter 22 if it had a built in magazine ?

    It's a step in the right direction but at the same time it can not be a twitch shooter if it is the game fails. This is why free aim needs to be a thing.

    If easy mode means having information easily readable for something you would inherently know in real life then yes. Knowing what firemode your weapon is in takes no longer than a second in real life this is why a hud element is acceptable although the ammo counter is not needed. The compass is another example of something that is literally done in 2 seconds but turns into a cumbersome clunky mess in standalone due to having to take the compass out open the lid using the scroll wheel, bringing it up to read it.
  5. The gun is mechanically accurate regardless of the mod or not. The cone of fire did not magically decrease as you are suggesting.
  6. ? So you are saying gun manufacturers should sell guns without magazines ? I have never , ever heard of a gun maker selling a firearm that required magazines without any as stated before it is exactly like selling a revolver without a handle or an m4 without a handguard. Sure you might be able to make the firearm function without that part but the complete weapon is the revolver with the handle and the handguard on the m4. You simply do not have a complete firearm without having a magazine in a magazine fed weapon.
  7. The is 0 increase in accuracy. It merely changes how the weapon handles, it functions like real life. Resting your gun on a surface, allows for less sway and better recoil management.

  9. There are many variations of weapon resting in Arma. Best imo is the ACE method because it has a very tactile implementation. When you deploy a weapon on a surface or use your bipod you have absolutely no doubt that it is latched on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjKG-x0lIEE When deployed weapon movement is reduced allowing for more precise shots at longer distances, its intuitive and fun to use. WTF did they have to redesign all of the interiors for that mod to work in arma 3 ? Even the mod you showed in your video would be insanely beneficial to dayz. Here is the ace method but in more detail.
  10. Not always true. My M&P will not fire if a magazine is not inserted some kind of magazine drop safety that alot of modern pistols have, its supposed to be some kind of measure cops can use if their gun is being wrestled from them you drop the mag so your own gun cannot be used against you. But thats besides the point. Point is a complete weapon system that has a magazine requires a magazine. Without a magazine the weapon is not complete. Thus this is exactly the same as removing a critical part of another weapon weather that be a bolt or a handguard. The magazine is as much of a vital part for a handgun as any other part. It was designed to function with a magazine it is not some bonus accesory that enhances the weapon it is a vital piece of kit to have the gun function to the best of its ability.

    Yup its absolutely needed. It's one of those things that devs thought would not be immersive enough but ends up making the game suffer. Just like the crappy compass system. Over complicates the compass when it worked fine in arma 2 and arma 3 by simply holding k.

    I agree. We need atleast 1 pump shotgun 1 semi auto shotgun, a 5.56/.223 bolt action rifle, a .22 lr bolt action rifle a submachinegun in 9mm, and finally a carbine in a pistol caliber. We have enough pistols and most of them are useless and never used by people due to lack of magazines.

    Not being hostile at all. I am just saying that just because something exists in real life does not mean it would be a good contribution to the game. Cigarettes might be useful if they are incorporated into the crafting somehow. I am sure they can be used as a makeshift detonation device for some explosives detonating when the cigarette burns out.

    That does not mean it should be added or does anything for the game. Aids is real thus it should be in dayz cause you know its real.

    One big benefit to a side chat atleast in the alpha is it lets the server discuss game breaking bugs, and other misshaps. Server wide communication could also let them try to recreate bugs and find more of them.

  20. Absolutely. I would honestly love a weight system added to firearms. Get shot in the chest or head when you have a helmet the weight knocks you off balance and down.
  21. Hmmm bullets have been pointy aka spitzer design since the 1880s + . Pretty much every rifle round in the game is pointy and does damage by piercing.
  22. well weapon resting has been added by the modding community atleast in arma 3 within a month of it releasing so it cant be that hard.
  23. How is that even related. A better example would be. M4 should not spawn with a bolt. revolver should not spawn with a cylinder axes should not spawn with a handle. A weapon system that has a magazine requires one to be a functioning firearm so its lack of one is no different than removing the bolt or any critical component of a non magazine weapon. I would also like to hear how spawning mags with weapons increases pvp ? Do people still not understand that no game mechanic can stop or persuade people from not shooting each other. They can make it where your character has a heart attack if he shoots another player and guess what, people will still pvp and shoot on sight. Not because they lack things to do but because people find enjoyment in ruining other peoples fun. It is that simple.
  24. Even with the current damage model there is no daam reason for a crossbow to do more damage than a 5.56 to the chest. Regardless of a complex or a dumb medical system in the game where you can heal gunshot wounds using dirty rags a 5.56 gunshot should do more damage than any crossbow or bow.
