    That looks really good. Quite fond of the regular most common look of the m1911.

    I had a gtx 580 before I had everything on medium and low view distance. on the 290x its 2x aa, 1440p, 60 fps, view distance at 11000 and object render at 7k all ultra. Big thing is I oc my cpu to 4.6 ghz its a 2500k.

    +1 for the r9 series. I just bought a 290x for 300 dollars at microcenter and this card rocks. Finally running arma 3 with everything maxed and on ultra with a huge view distance still getting 60 fps.

    Why wont people play in the night ?

    People will never play on night for 2 reasons. #1 the night looks terrible and you cannot see most of the time, not being able to see just creates increased frustration especially when you have zombies glitching through walls smacking you. #2. People abuse the night not only do you have to worry about people peeking through houses and over and around cover using 3pv they now have to worry about gamma and brightness abusers.

    yea the dope sheets the piece of paper is provided for you but in ACe you are playing a soldier who would know his weapon and would know the dope for his rifle. In dayz not knowing the correct dope for weapons would be awesome , would require people to mak their own dope sheets with paper outside of the game so when sniping they can quickly glance over to their notepad and dial it in.

    That would actually be pretty cool. Rags soak up blood reducing bleeding. In order to fully stop blood loss you must apply fresh rags. When you reach safety you have to heat a knife in a fire source and then use it to take out the bullet and burn the wound close.

    Yea that is a problem although I have experienced instances in the Arma 2 engine particularly playing ace where the delay to register hits was a mere milisecond or two. so this is a fixable problem .

    How can you ghost if you join the same server ? your position would not change.

    Yea I am sure it will get fixed audio will be a big thing for dayz. It really immerses you when done properly plus being able to hear gunshot direction and immediately know the direction and distance is vital.

    No I got a decent sound card an asus xonar + a pair of audio technica ath m50s Every other game directional sound is good but in dayz its really bad.

    1. I like the idea of listening to see what direction the wind is but frankly dayz has horrible positional audio. Dozens of times guns are being shot within 40m of me and I cannot tell what direction it is I can only tell if its behind me or in front of me. 2. Text message would definetely work although I feel its a bit unintuitive and kinda ugly looking. It would work though 3. This would work too 4. Never heard of this method before.

    Separate teams within the studio. They can address all these issues at the same time nothing will get overlooked because effort is being put into one thing or another.

    I really hope they can get this game really optimized because at the moment the player render distance is absolutely unacceptable. I wan't towns and players to render out past a mile.

    Field medic simulator ? Hmm the medical system is quite slim at the moment and it will probably and should get more complex. It is complete bullcrap that you can heal a gunshot wound to the neck or heart with a simple rag.

    Arma 3 also has a bullet dispersion system but it mimics real life accuracy. a 2 moa weapon makes 2 inch groups at 100 yards, 10 inch groups at 500 yards. These realistic dispersion values can be accounted for and overcome. The completely wacky and random dispersion values in dayz cannot. Arma 3 also has higher zoom levels when aiming with iron sights allowing iron sighted weapons to be effective at their effective ranges of 300-600m
  17. I am having a great time without zombies. It feels like a totally new and better game. Feels like the road the video game.

    The gun mechanics in arma 3 are soooo much better than in dayz. Especially with a little free aim added to the controls. In arma 3 you can actually engage targets at 300m with iron sights and an assault rifle.
  19. I actually am playing in a game with 0 zombies. I will tell you what it is the most surreal immersive experience thus far. Lack of zombies really puts you on edge and makes you extra alert to your surroundings. makes you fear players even more.

    Let's hope not. I am guessing there be a point in time where realism and realistic gunplay will be a focus for the team and they will fix all of the garbage gunplay in the game. Suppression would go a long way to fixing alot of that.
  21. Well are you willing to sacrifice half of your frame rate to achieve that ? I am not against multiple optics in the graphics menu. 2d scopes 3d scopes 3d scopes rendered twice. Even though I have a 290x I will still go for 2d scopes no need to sacrifice frames for something that looks equally nice in 2d.

    My stance still stands that we need to give this a shot first see if it adds to the game and the survival mechanics. If it does keep it in if it doesn't remove it but at the same time I am sure they will think of other survival stuff to add.

    No my argument is #1 the poop is done, the animation is done so what little dev time is wasted in adding this is negligible. This is a potential mechanic that can add depth and when combined with other survival mechanics could really work to make it a challenge to keep your player healthy. Outright downplaying something without seeing how it is incorporated is not the way to go. Reminds me of all the mad people back when wind was confirmed for shooting. All the people were mad cause it made the game harder and because it added a layer of depth to a certain mechanic.

    Why Devs should allow early modding

    It reminds me of the console peasant thought logic. "mods ruin skyrim" "mods ruin games" I don't get it you are always free to not play mods and join vanilla servers. In the extremely unlikely chance that none exist rent your own and make one, thats what rocks about pc gaming.
