There could be lots of things. My firm belief is that the Environment itself should be the most dangerous thing in a survial game. Imagine a game where a deadly pandemic killed 90 percent of the world. The lack of law and order caused people to loot murder and pillage. Food sources went scarce. People resulted to cannibalism , and murdering and stealing just to survive. This to me is far scarier and better than ......... zombies the most tired and gimmicky thing in gaming and media soo daam corny man. Imagine a game where the environment was so deadly that most of your in game activity revolved in and around surviving the elements and trying to build a better environment for yourself. Planting crops, building fortifications for your settlement or home to defend against bandits, cannibals and thieves. At the same time building your settlement with friendly players who each took roles and specialized in different things. At the same time you could just live a harder life by becoming a cannibal become a human eating nomad who preys on the weak and unlucky. Scary thing is in real life we are due for a pandemic too. The last one was the 1918 flue pandemic.

Not the same fucking thing. Why do people always associate wasteland with Dayz not even remotely the same thing. I really cannot compehend that line of thought. Wasteland is just a regular pvp team vs team mode + a 3rd team that can target anyone else. This is mixed with randomly spawning in a big map. There are no survival aspects. No looting . none of that exists.

I like my solution make it so low system spec machines do not have an advantage and force them to render grass a longer distance. Force grass to render when looking at optics problem solved. those that cant get a good frame rate can lower other settings and make the game uglier but the grass rendering stays so nobody has an advantage over anyone else . If that still is unacceptable they quit their bitching and upgrade.

The mildots would only work if they are correct. With FOV affecting the magnification of optics I doubt they will ever be correctly calibrated to many any range estimation. Then the second problem is people use dayzmb to range targets that is so frustrating as it takes out a big challenge out of the game.

I completely agree that some elements would make no sense even though they are realistic. Sleep is one of them atleast sleep in a sense that your character would sleep while you are logged in. Sleep would work if it mirrors rust. when you log off your character sleeps this makes your character always vulnerable and puts more importance to not only base building and barricading yourself but also to remote regions and encourages exploration. If they made 1 character per server + added rust's sleep mechanic I promise you nobody will be in cherno or berenzino. Everyone would be in the north surviving then making their way back home before they log off. The game would not be a boring pvp fest but a unique survival game.

Or they can just keep grass and add more of it and allow players to cut the grass in front of them to set up a firing position. In real life tall grass that gets in the way exist what people are forced to do is cut the grass and foliage so that you can get a clear shooting position of what you want to kill. It does not need to be complicated either. simply have a scroll option that says clear brush and that merely makes the grass come down like if you moved over it but instead of propping up after 3 minutes it lasts 1 hour flattened.

Reason they havent added bicycles is because whats the point ? Your character already runs at 15 mph whats the point of adding a bicycle that is marginally faster. I really hope they slow down the player speed depending on the more gear they have and the more weight they have.

The main problem and the problem in alot of games lately is that players that crank down their settings all the way to the lowest setting gain a considerable advantage over people playing in high settings. This is absolutely unacceptable no matter what .

How can you ghost if you spawn in on the exact same location ? Disconnecting from a server and then reconnecting to the same server = same position as when you left. That is not ghosting.

The timer needs to stay. However the timer needs to be fixed so you do not get it when joining the same server. If you quit and want to join another server due to silly reasons like its night, or you want to join friends then wait 10 minutes.

Post processing needs to be forced on people. It has some gameplay mechanics at the moment doesnt it ? like when you are hurt you get blurry vision this needs to be forced .

No what I want is the in games graphics to reflect that of the machine the player has. Having a 5 mile view distance does not mean you will be shooting anyone from 5 miles. Even a 1 mile view distance would mean making a 1 mile shot that isnt going to happen with wind and the other factors coming in. However having a 5 mile view distance means alot of things for gameplay. It means being able to stalk players from great distances, it means being able avoid groups of players by being more situationally aware. That is not the point though, the point is if you are unhappy about how you can play the game then upgrade your daam computer. That is the problem, PC devs are stuck making games for the lowest common denominator and at the end they get a dated looking game that has no future proofing. Make the game like crysis 1, make a game that demands the most out of pcs and continues to look amazing for years to come. A game built for future hardware.

Cmon dude absolutely people would play it. The whole reason people even bother playing dayz over other zombie games is the realism and the mil sim aspects of it. without realism this game would just be any other boring zombie game. Realism and mil sim aspects is what makes dayz different.

What needs to happen is there is a baseline level that everyone must render the game at. no daam near pixelated graphics. What also needs to happen is a view distance slider. If someone has a 290x or a gtx 780 ti then let them be able to see 5 miles then again of course if someone has a 750 ti let them be able to crank that down to half a mile.

Of course that has always been the case with pc gaming. Pc gaming rewards people who have better hard ware. When playing a flight sim on pc does the guy with a 400 dollar hotas flight stick not have an advantage over someone using a 360 controller ? does the guy playing on a 4k monitor not have an advantage over a guy with a 1600p screen ? Does the guy with a gaming keyboard with a bunch of macros that facilitate everything from bandaging to eating not have an advantage over the guy with a 9 dollar microsoft keyboard ? That is pc gaming. Victor tot he one with skill and or the guy with the best system. good culture imo it forces technology forward and this is good for all.

Cant find ballistic test on the current standard round the US military uses but it is by all accounts far deadlier than the videos round. Although I did find pictures of the gel. Shot is from left to right. No way someone can take one of those or any 5.56 round to the chest and shrug it off. You will be either incapacitated on the ground passed out or dead from a single shot. Is the ammo that was used with US troops as back up until 2008 I believe this is what the grand majority of mil surp ammo would probably be.

What makes it easy in dayz is that the game gives you your dope right on the screen. Simply press page up and your character somehow magically knows how many minutes to dial his scope so his bullet drops at whatever range he needs it at. Adding wind + MOA and or MRad elevation adjustments is enough difficulty to at least mimic real life in game. BTW hitting stuff at 1000 yards even without wind still takes skill and practice. Doesn't matter what weapon system you use it requires skill.
