I wish we were forced to interact with others to survive...

I can understand being banned for committing suicide too many times putting strain on the server. For server hopping, for combat logging and for ghosting. But for killing people WTF ? -
Why does the cross bow do more damage than the m4?

The amount of damage a 5.56 round would do to a human versus a 7.62x51mm is minimal. Where the caliber round matters is bucking the wind getting deeper penetrative properties on animals and on structures. Humans are soft weak lumps of flesh pretty much any rifle round is devastating to our bodies. -
works in breaking point. would allow people to quickly identify bandits or survivors. Each should have benefits and penalties.

.... You do know that the devs have central control of loot so if for instance they want only 2 revolvers accross all servers they can do that . Like they did for a whole week when the revolver was first released. Central control of loot and gathering of information on player behavior are the main benefits of a central hive. Simply having your character transfer over to other servers is not and in fact it is one of the biggest flaws of the hive. Nobody deserves to have anyone combat logged, on them or ghosted on them.

good idea more realism the better.

Incapacitation/ Kinectic knockdown discussion

That is a tiny .25 auto or a .380. Imagine he got shot with a +p+ .45 acp round. He would have a few broken ribs and some internal bleeding. -
Yea change the laws in Australia if you wish to no longer get discriminated upon. Makes no sense to sensor a game and ruin it for 99 percent of people just so 1 percent can play it in Australia. Problem is the law.

Incapacitation/ Kinectic knockdown discussion
gibonez replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't mind a system where each body region has a minimal amount of bleeding associated with it. So say you are low blood and take a heart shot even if you bandage you will not survive the 4k blood you would lose regardless of bandaging or not -
Time probably. Arma 3 was not ready for when Dayz stand Alone started development. Had they had a choice of course they woulda gone with the arma 3 engine because it looks so much better than standalone.

http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/24ev18/discussion_proof_of_concept_gun_shot/ reddit thread finally died down 276 upvotes and nearly every single comment was supportive. Guess people do want this. -
I am not against this route by the way. The thing is if they do go this route there is no going back. They have to start from scratch and emphasize the primitive weapons and make the m4 the rarest gun out .
-
You know that wont happen though. All the PVPers will be pissed. They will be angry cause there are no SCar hs because the dev team is too busy making spears.
-
Adopting primitive weapons will be useless in dayz. Just like the bow and the crossbow the primitive weapons will be a week long distraction then nobody will use them. Primitive booby traps would get used.
-
If only.
-
Bandits ruin this game for you. fixed that for you.

Yup one character per server is the only solution. People can dance circles and try to spin it any which way but the only real and true solution is one character per server.
-
Randomized spawn locations that are and can be anywhere or bust.

I wish we were forced to interact with others to survive...

See that I can get behind. The faction system in breaking point is wonderful it passively encourages a player to pick a playstyle and stick to it. However for stand alone wouldn't that negate the clothing system completely ? -

Open world and sandbox can be used interchangeably -

There wouldn't be any people left in the world ? and ? It doesn't matter if you take out killing or not the simple fact is you are proposing a punishment for a very valid and very popular playstyle. This does not conform to what a sandbox is. -

gibonez replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
WTF kind of logic is this ? Again this is a sandbox punishing a playstyle just so you can have fun role playing is idiotic. Only solution to your problems is to open up a PVE server or joining a PVE community once private hives come out. -
The only reason this is even remotely comparible is because I was playing on Chenarus arma 2 chenarus with all of its low res textures. Had I taken screen shots in an arma 3 map the comparison would not even be remotely close but even with that said Arma 2 chenarus looks so much better than chenarus + due to the amazing lighting and other graphical effects.

No they do but within the context of the game having a skill would be an artificial crutch a player has that would prevent him from doing something. It is a sandbox let people do what they want if they want to kill others faster so be it. -
That looks kinda bad like maxed out arma 2.
