  1. Look, b/c there are no set goals besides survive, and even then ur not rewarded for surviving nor killing, DayZ has created one of the most enjoyable experiences in a game that I have ever had. If players want to kill each other so be it. IF u want to be a survivor and team up to survive then u can do that to. When u start punishing, and limiting how we play, u start down the path of linear mmo's and other games that aren't popular. This is a fresh approach to survival, even beyond the original Resident evil which was truly a survival horror game, imagine if RE was half of this mod, imagine how popular that game would be.

    Day Z amazing, Arma II poor interface

    Must be a CoD'irther. Like the other person said, u dont like it, dont play. Random dislike threads are not constructive to the DayZ mod.
  3. If you actually look into how to make a map in Arma 2, it takes a hell of a lot of work. Rocket would be spending more time on map making than coding new features and server optimization. Now if he enlists some of those map makers out there then that would be great but it would still take some time to come out w a polished non buggy map that looked and felt good. All buildings are sort of hard coded into the map when created, so adding more would have to be done through the editor, and that can produce more bugs than if done through actually making the map from scratch. Chernarus is perfect for DayZ.

    make zombies slower

    Crawlers, Hoppers should stay as they are, but Walkers should immediately start sprinting when they detect you. They should be "Walking" like a walker. And if they get close to attack you they should do more damage to make up for the slower walking speed, b/c if u allow them to get that close u deserve to be hurt.

    More reasons to go in-land...

    I would think more weapons would be found at military bases and more food would be found in cities and small towns. But loot points and items there in will be tweaked in future builds, hopefully.

    Many more working vehicles

    Vehicles would be great, but if the current scavenger system was worked on more, fixing up a wreck and getting it going is part of the fun. Should be able to craft more though to make barricades and stuff like that.

    Losing your backpack in water/filling up water bottle

    I really like how u can fill ur bottles up at a river, ocean, pond, or water pump. That was a really great immersion idea IMO.

    Gear ideas

    To add to your list: 1. Should have the ability to choose weapon loadout at spawn screen. Only pistols should stay the standard. Keep food and water starting packs. 2. Random starting with a backpack or not. 3. Sprinting zombies should be a little slower. Keep hoppers and crawlers, should have actual walking zombies or (power walking zombies) when they attack you. 4. Multiple skins to choose from before spawn. 5. There should be more spawn points and not all by the coast. 6. Should be able to choose to spawn with any friends, but the spawn location should still be random. 7. All firearms should have to be cleaned after so much use, I know there is a "un-jam" option in ACE mod, so a cleaning option could be made. 8. Should be able to bandage self while laying prone so you don't expose yourself. 9. Even more Zombies please. 10. There is a train mod simulator somewhere and im sure it would be to hard to get into the mod for faster transport to major cities. 11. Should be more Zombies out in the open fields as if they were migrating from other towns. 12. Night play is hard and if it was in real life, night is when u bunker down and hide, you can't see incoming enemy and that's what makes it fun. PKing should be limited in some way, don't know how yet but, Zombies aren't the only thing inthe dark you should be afraid of. 13. Create "Easter Egg" type points that are completely random all the time and have great loot but a lot of risk to get them. 14. There should be somekind of reward system for killing tons of zombies. I like your cargo pants idea, and eliminating local chat. MRE's are a good idea but should be rarer, seeing as how in real life most people don't have them only military minded individuals, energy drinks a definite thing, there everywhere. Ammo caches, well thats what all the loot points are for, but something like that should be made, should be very rare though. Some future developments to consider: 1. To be able to "construct" safehouse's, with fortifications. 2. Be able to use empty whiskey bottles as water containers. 3. Have more scavangable items, and be used to build other items, in general be useful. 4. Rummage through trash cans and dumpsters 5. Melee weapons could be made and implemented but anyone who has played Arma series OFP series knows its hard to implement, but welcomed greatly.

    Humanity - and a way to make it useful

    The humanity points should reward or punish u in some way but to have a npc merchant or character would hurt the play of the game. I agree it should stay player interaction only, that is what makes it so fun, you don't know if friend or foe. Having npc characters would create a place for bandits to troll and vice versa, that would become a hunting ground like the spawn points are.
