Yep i own the server with 24 different ip addresses, what they gunna do? not much. You all knew it was private - it's the reason you played, it has custom content and clearly states it every 500 seconds in the motd. Yep i make bases for admin and players to find for there camps - beats barbwire and some tents up north. There are plenty of vehicles for everyone (and new custom ones coming today) - why anyone is bothered by an admin camp is beyond me. We don't hack or cheat - i even have a custom cheat detection and battleeye custom scripts, i bet my cheat detection is better than official right now. You can't just spawn shit in, the server will delete it, it requires alot of database edits and unique id's to even get things to appear. As for the base you might find, it is done in the editor and one simply does not spawn it in. As for the video, that was really old.... just showcasing possiblities when private stuff was released. You got banned because we can, you are all pissed you spent hours and got banned, it was only a temp ban till 7pm tonight to let you cool off, but you won't be unbanned now. Everything we do in game is legit - otherwise we wouldn't run BE, wouldn't code and maintain custom cheat detections, wouldn't spend money renting a dedicated box and wouldn't spend time or effort playing it. Without people who complain and say the complete opposite of what rocket wants to hear - there wouldn't be any point to this alpha test. ALOT of things have changed since i played this mod...just because it's an alpha doesn't give anyone a right to say "oh its an alpha" put up with it. Shit needs to get said and shit gets fixed, otherwise it will all be kiss kiss rocket i love you scenarios. Whether this is his mod or not, he has to cater to everyone, he can't just make shit up as he goes along people just won't play it and the mod will get boring and people will move on - that's a fact.

what do you all keep using the excuse "alpha" for? Arma 2 is a full retail game and has been out for a few years, it's not day z that is the problem but the dumb arma engine, battle-eye has been shit ever since it came out, armas scripting is and has always been an issue in multiplayer, with day z it just got worse as more players and skiddies came on to try it. This game arma 2 and day z will go fucking no-where on the dumb arma engine. "alpha" is not an excuse for a game and anti cheat system that has been out this amount of time.

Going around servers and grassing them all up - wow, do you even have any friends? I sure wouldn't like to rely on you for support if i "did something a bit naughty" in life, you'd run the cops straight away, lmfao. In the end when this game goes standalone, there will be alot more private/locked servers and the current dayz hosting rules will not be working very well for a sustainable project. Appreciate that you are trying to make a difference, but going out of your way and stalking n shit, is not really what i would say "policing" as a community.

removing the @dayz from startup parameter and @dayz in the expansion menu fixed it for me.

so a player is using time old methods to spawn kill (which is lame i know) but you can't ban him for it lmao. Next up: Blacklist server for allowing a spawn kill to commence!

fraps has to be the most common excuse not just for dayz/arma but for bf3, css, tf2 and many more. You hacked and you know it :)

Already many doing it, to the dismay of dayz devs however. But.. these private local databases run so much better than the main ones, it's a much more enjoyable exprience, but it isn't for everyone. (since they can't dc and move to another location/ghost etc) LOL.

Yep, been in webhosting/dedicated servers for nearly 17 years, i have never seen such a bad host and customer service before.. Luckily... i don't need to rely on these sort of people, so i feel sorry for the people who do, nothing more annoying than this. It's very unprofessional to write in a forum and not directly to the customers in email aswell, pretty poor, it's like to me they all met in these forums and decided to buy a couple of servers and split them up into many vps's and make a tidy profit selling garbage.

most servers don't have them because of rockets database desyncs and some lag from arma itself. They work great on private servers though.

try downloading arma 2 free and see.

we have alot of them but the ammo is the problem.

dude there is alot more to arma than just dayz, look around the net, you might find something else to play with arma. Dayz is alright but there are better implemented mods out for arma itself.

The guy has a point though, alot of the players complaining are just flash in the pan players, they move from one game to the next and don't really care about any mess they might leave behind. They have a right to complain though, so what can server hosters do? not alot!
