Well ,, lets hope so :) Server will be up pretty much all the time so join whenever! Admins are on in the afternoons/early evening times so in the mean time.. enjoy. -
you have to remember most streetlamps are empty classes or banned in dayz_anim by rocket. You could use rMod which makes all lights work with scripts.. but this is a seperate mod. Basically all lights don't work because rocket banned the class, a bit like vehicles and to undo it requires a client side change, or like i said rmod. You can light up some things but for the important parts - you need to work around the dayz configs. Also on a full server you really don't want a code checking how close you are to a building and which ones to light up all the time, will not be an overall smooth experience.

It shouldn't spawn new ones every server restart, it will only replace missing ones/crashed/out of bounds ones. Until you reach the limit anyway. Also @saintly is nearly 2 months out of date, you are best trying bliss.

no.. you do not re-sign mods under your own keys which makes other versions not work. The creator releases public keys to ensure EVERYONE plays the correct version. You don't just make your own keys up. IT's ok vilayer admits they are wrong now, and apologies are being said already. keep up with the thread that matters: http://forums.bistud...-Lingor/page242 dayzcommander shows only the modified one, which has been re-signed, which is not how it should of been. If rocket saw this post, he would agree stealing and resigning mods as your own is just a big NO. -

The specs for running a dayz server are far less than what they require in official posts. (exaggerated there). You will use ALOT of bandwidth, but if you are going local minimal specs were posted above - which would be fine. If your gunna go dedicated and have 1 server + sql running, look at something like a 4-core 8gb of ram max. Anything else is wasting your money. My 6 core 8gb ram machine at full player slot used about 60% of it's total resource and that's with web server and other scripts running outside of the game enviroment. and p.s NO you don't need a gpu. -
for official dayz? You can get electric on most private servers these days, if they know how to script it.

A similar thing happened with city life devs, where they took others codes or created other versions and locked them down for use, for them only. Then any other mod that was out with same title was classed as the version not to play, which vilayer are doing, they stop people from playing the real version, they need to rename it really. Then tell dayz commander any other version is no good for end user, fuck off! When i first started a private hive code (in march/april time) i sent vilayer a message in support showcasing what i was doing and how would they like the code and could i try using the servers. Thier reply was simply " WE DO NOT SUPPORT PIRACY" " MODDING SOMEONE ELSES WORK IS THEFT" "ROCKET DOES NOT WANT PRIVATE STYLE HIVES" "WE DO NOT WANT TO GET INVOLVED" Now they take code and spoon feed bad versions to other people.. it's wrong guys.. don't care what you say. It's amazing how they took a complete turn and saw that private was the way, at least the guy who orginally made it know the mod is liked at least, so not all effort is wasted. Anyways you can always sniff out and rip the server files anyway, just gotta know how - there are tools for this on armatech modding sites, for those selfish people who nick others codes.. it's never locked down really. next up : vilayer claim copyright on mission files, ROFL. I think the funny part is you can get a dedicated box, for less than what vilayer charge you for a vps with several instances on it and aquire all these maps for free, so you'd pay less, get better resource and much more value for money, so oh well... your loss. When you borrow code in arma, you add credits and ask other people, not simply rebrand it and then lock out the real mod. Shame.. -
ah i see what you mean now.. Well i suppose it could work, but distributing it would be the problem i think.

It is different sure, but people want to customise there own databases - hence why they have private servers. You'd need someone to host the community whitelist and they wouldn't want multiple people logging into it to add/remove people and of course hackers will always get in, they can easily get whitelisted and ruin your server before you get a chance to sort them out. I just doubt it will work.

That means only 1 or 2 people would have access to the database though, if every server wanted to merge it would simply become like the offical hive, cheating, ghosting, lameness - everything we work for ruined.

New objects and buildings on private servers

yes they download a new mission file when they connect, but that's it. You can add any building via the 3d editor or 2d editor, some buildings like firehouses/hospitals cannot be placed unless you for example put a "tent" down and then go into the mission.sqm and change class "tent" to "barracks" simply replacing the tent with a barrack instead. On my ne airfield i have extra hangers, firehouse, crashed plane with loot and a barracks... i also have set up other miltary camps on cherno like stary with more zombies and so on. -

How to repair engine for CH47F?

with chinooks u need to try and fit underneath it and repair it. A radius exists for fixing vehicles, and it's not adjusted to accommodate the new spawns. A problem is though you could risk death because sometimes as you repair your guy might try and crouch resulting in you being squashed. -

press alt and e to go into the 3d editor and build on a new map. make your base/modifications with the "vehicle" section on the right hand side. Once you are done. click the map then on the right click center, after that click group, after that click unit. SAVE this as a user mission called "new" or whatever. Download arma 3d to 2d converter and open it, browse to the map you just made and convert it. close arma. Now with a shortcut on your desktop for arma, open the target line and after -mod=@dayz;@rmod add "c:/path/to/your/dayz/mission.sqm" which might be a saintly one or similar. Then launch arma, this will open the map for dayz. now click merge - you then merge this with the map you made in the 3d editor. which will now be listed as new_2d. once you have done this - export to usermission as the filename you want on the server to run. Go into the folder and drag any files it needs like fsm, init files etc. walla, job done - repack with a pbo tool and upload to your server.

yeah you can, you just have to make sure you only put in non-banned vehicles, so putting in tanks instead of a bus won't work. -
Found a Helicopter on a private server, cant refuel it

if the HULL is orange/yellow inside the chopper, the person who is running the server has VERY OLD code and hasn't updated his sql file, so you have the fuel leak issue until he runs a query to fix it. Other than that, it could be that there is something wrong with his server altogther and it might not be updating his database properly. OR just get 5 pieces of glass and fix each window 1by1 just to ensure this isn't the issue aswell. -

If you can't access the database then there is no point in even having a private server. The whole point is having a database you manage yourself - otherwise just go official where someone else does the work. LOl vilayer surely don't dis-allow the db access? i mean you want to customise it so surely they must allow it? If not - well... i wouldn't bother with them and buy yaself your own dedicated box, you can get enough specs to run dayz for a similar price to what they charge anyway/
