    Using the axe/hatchet

Mild point of contention - If you have a rifle in your backpack and a hatchet in your hand, you CAN swap between the two (both will necessitate a reload)! Just be careful of how you do it and do not inadvertently fill your backpack while the larger item is out, as you can accidentally delete your primary..

    Whitelist question

.. the only thing I could possibly think of, is trusted groups, like say the Medics (ie, if you're a whitelisted medic, then you can be sure they won't bone you over in a "oh yeah, make your way to this windowless house, I'll heal you up real good in there" kind of way.) I could, of course, be completely wrong. :V

How do I play now that i'm fully geared

I'm going to second the bus thing. But I'm also going to suggest keeping your mic turned on and blaring, I dunno, Party Rock Anthem through it while you're cruising through the wastes... but that's mainly because I want to see a bus roll by with LMFAO streaming out the windows.

    Broken Leg durin morphine famin

I'd offer to shlep on down and fix you up, but I'm scooting off to work in a few. Morphine ought be in the boxes you see laying around - if you inspect the loot pile and just see, say, empty cans and bottles? You're going to need to pick those up and move them away from the boxes, as they are in effect blocking your access to the box. Strange, but there we are! You could try slipping from one server to another, I suppose, but I can't say I've ever seen any hospital completely emptied out before. Small Edit: If you cursor over a box and mouse-wheel it, and it says 'restock at" or something like that, then you can properly access the box. Another small Edit: If everything really is empty, try moving a small distance away (ten to fifty meters), waiting about five or ten minutes, then checking back - This will usually refresh a loot point at least in other places, though I'm not entirely sure it will work with the hospitals. Worth trying though.

    [The Cure]: An Introduction

I wholeheartedly endorse and support the Trusted Medics, and I've never encountered or needed one - It's the attempts and the optimism that gets me. I'd see about signing up with them, myself, but I fear my "run around willy-nilly when going from A to B" would probably get me, and my patient, killed, heh. Maybe if I ever get a bicycle or something... although, then I'd just ride around ringing the bell making a :D face, and that's just as bad. Hope it works for you, Doc - Chernarus can always use more good men and women.
  6. Weirdest thing. Grabbed the new patch, logged in to the server I usually play in, and while it's still loading... 'Rakoth was killed.' I :C-faced for a minute, figuring perhaps someone found my cool-awesome, or coolsome, hiding spot of underneath a bush, when the world finishes loading and I'm in debug plains, very much alive but completely stripped of ALL gear - Not even a backpack or a bandage. Still :C-facing, I ESC'd, aborted, disconnected, hit okay... Appeared in Elektro. Fortunately this was just a five or ten minute to where I was, and my corpse was still there, dead by "unknown causes." Is logging out under bushes dangerous now or something? I mean, it didn't seem to kill me, per se, as I never got a "You died" message or the choice to pick a male or female skin, but I did respawn elsewhere so... yeah.
  7. Hm, actually, this sounds to me like he might have thought you meant him ill. I've come across well-supplied corpses more than once, and I tend to surmise they either slipped up and got swarmed by the dead, or a bandit got the better of them - He might have thought you were the former, helped out, and went on his way, but thought you intended to kill him or something if you were following him (or he really didn't want attention drawn to him or the like.) Whenever I've helped someone out, I tend to backpedal away watching them (to make sure I don't end up with a bullet in the butt) or back off and watch them until they scoot away out of view at which point I book it elsewhere at a sprint. A hearty "thanks!" goes a long way with aid, tho', if you get it instead of a bullet to the brain.

    Cars in DayZ

    Does it have fuel? :3c

    Radio ?

Last I was aware it is a legit item with no purpose (for now.) Though some have said there's a Morse code you can pick up on Green Mountain every eight hours or so.

    supermarkets

If I'm a fresh spawn and none of the usual places seem to have any of the loots (or at least loots I want) at the supermarket, I'll gather all the excess loot (Makarovs, bandages, tools, etc) into a neat orderly pile in the foyer / main entrance of the market, and dump all the empty cans and bottles on the stoop out back, before running across the street and rolling around in the grass behind one of the houses waiting for respawns Keeps everything clear for new loot, makes a nice and neat pile for people to go 'Oh, hey, that's what I was looking for' and gets them in and out faster so I can get the loot that -I- want, and it makes me smell like fresh grass. On account of the rolling. Zombies need greens in their diet too, you know?
  11. Rakoth

    Aren't zombies moving too fast?

They seem to be the same to me, excepting that a few have been running while in-doors, which terrified the crap out of me and also led to 11K -> 0K blood by way of being knocked unconscious somehow. Don't worry though I managed to run all the way around the coast and get my stuff back.

    Loot points

If you're feeling gutsy, hang around at the military loot points and empty them out (move empty cans and bottles, useless weaponry, and whatever else you don't want into a neat and tidy pile away from wherever they spawned,) move a bit away, then wait for 5-10 minutes. Usually new stuff will have spawned in. It's ballsy to do if it's a heavily-trafficked area (balota airfield or the camp south of it, Cherno fire station, etc) but no guts, no weapon of mass destruction.

    noob question about tents

From what I gather, what's saved is what you put in it and save the first time, IE pitching a tent then putting in two wheels, a lee-enfield, six canteens and a can of beans then saving means every time the server restarts, THAT will be what's in it, even if you add or take away stuff after the fact. If you disassemble the tent and move it, next restart the tent and its contents will be there, too (correct me if I am wrong.) This seems like an easy thing to abuse, now that I think about it.
  14. Rakoth

    That will teach me.

Hey, at least you didn't spend some two hours running around Cherno grabbing vehicle parts to repair an ATV you came across up by the NW hospital only to accidentally flip it 10 minutes later like SOME people. ... I miss that ATV, it was like an ATV to me...
  15. It used to be, apparently, that the first reset after a saved tent would clear out anything put in it (if you put anything in it) so it was recommended to drop in a empty can or the like until the server reset... Then start storing actual stuff. Last patch evidently broked how stuff is saved on the hive, so... Get situated, but don't expect tents to work correctly. Vehicles, I think they're just straight weird and kind of a crapshoot. Been hearing different opinions ("Saved vehicles always go back to original spawn points on server reset!" "Vehicle saving worrrrrks!") but I wouldn't get attached to any vehicles. Not that you should anyway, but, yeah.
