every friendly i come across i ask if they need anything (ammo, food, drinks, blood, etc). some hero/friendly survivors exist, its just finding them through all the bandits :/

except, it is still... just a mod... in alpha stage as for spawning on the coast; make sure to keep your arma2 up to date and if you go into wrong patch servers (for arma2) then you will spawn on the coast

would love to it to go to consoles, as i would try it on that, but mainly as someone else has pointed out, would help push the cod kiddies back to the console version :D

if you want to attempt to be a friendly then dont keep a KoS and dont sweat about losing your gear. i ran into a friendly last night, ended up giving him a soda as well... then got killed 10min later (and i confirmed it was not the same guy). spawned and already working on getting new gear :)

i tend to avoid players now, but when i do run into friendlies, i always ask if they need anything, like food/water/etc

found only one m9 sd... could never find the silenced ammo for it >_<

ouch, best way to deal with walkers is to run as close as you can around trees/brush/walls as that can trigger them to loose aggro. and make sure to look around with alt so you can keep running at full speed if i was able to get on i would meet up with you and give you some beans :/

firestations can drop multiple types of non civil guns, but at that exact location i have recently picked up one of those, two diff ak's, and even a uzi... taht is prob one of my favorite places to stop once i first spawn. its also where i killed my first bandit (wootZ!)

its happening to ALLOT of people, basically the people that can get in (myself being one of them), will notice people always getting booted for battle eye. my friend has tried everything besides from reformatting his hd. it is a battle eye problem and from the looks of it, the people that cannot play cant do about it, besides wait :/ hope that cleared it up a bit

this unfortunately is your best bet :/ would love to just find random friendlies, or hell i'd even like the occasional "hey im starving could you spare some beans, pls".. but its rare to stumble upon them in the game

age, generalized location/time you typically play would help a ton :)

LOL, last night i thought i saw a crashed helicopter, started yelling in vent... then realized i was trolled by the map as it was just a boulder and some trees laid out to make it look exactly like a helicopter on its side

thats the best way to play, part of me wishes i never looked at a external map :/

while i cannot comment on crash sites, have you tried running through towns or esp barns in search of your other listed basic gear?... hatchets are fairly common in barns, as for the hunting knife and matches those are a little bit trickier to find >_< best of luck to you

get on low pop servers, i have only had one friendly contact, the rest bad... but yea keep your head down, find a friend or two to team up with from the survivors hq, but never let your guard down. and again find a low pop server :/ wish i could find more friendlies in my time of wandering around

i wish i could create another character in a new area. not look at anything and just survive in the game, like not using anything external of the game. my friends and i are still pretty low end but i would rather survive than stockpile the best of loots and forget im in a survival no holds bared game

sounds like you accidently double tapped alt.. i do that all the time and enables a free look mode without having the button pressed down :/ double tap it to turn it off, then hit up dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/3910-need-medical-assistance-we-can-help/ they should be able to help... best of luck to you

very true lol... as for op, one of the first nights after playing i woke up with a nice yell (somehow i did not wake the roommates though), and have had dreams of setting up plans with friends to loot towns and whatnot -_-

im all over the place but meet up with a bunch of random friends all the time, so i always find myself in the southern part of the map >_<
