  1. Search for "streaming..." in the .RPT and you will see a list of IDs (tents, barbed wire, current vehicles, etc.).
  2. Some brilliant pilot crashed the chopper on our server in the little bay of Skalisty, effectively rendering it useless. This wouldn't be so bad if it didn't spam the .RPT file with about 100+ MB/hour of redundant logging though. -.- Any ideas how to blow it up and get it saved? Any way to actually submerge yourself? I tried placing satchel charges while swimming over it and although it appeared the explosion was on the ocean floor, it only nudged the chopper a few feet further without destroying it. I've already tried a support ticket, but the replies indicated that the team has no time in the foreseeable future to bother with individual instance IDs, e.g. they won't destroy or despawn the chopper. They only suggested to request a new instance ID, but I'm sure as hell not going to wipe my entire server for a bugged out chopper. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Thanks guys, the broken leg method worked like a charm. I crawled out to it, repaired it partially and then got in and started it. The resulting explosion didn't even kill me and even though it knocked me down to 2k blood, I was able to bandage myself, save the chopper and crawl back again. :XD Just to be on the safe side I waited a couple of minutes, restarted the server and presto - no more chopper.
  4. Almost useless, except I wasn't kicking people for driving vehicles. I find it very dangerous to use these rigorous measures when nobody here has 100% knowledge of ARMA2 and DayZ mechanics (vide your post just one page ago where you said nobody should have a horn in their inventory at any given time).
  5. Just save the wrecks after you destroy them and they should be gone.
  6. That's correct, I've also noticed people with two items (horn and something else) in their inventory when they (got) disconnected while driving a vehicle. That's why I'm glad I set everything to 1 instead of 5.

DayZ Input Lag with Good Specs

Weird, since that setting fixed most of my problems. Servers that haven't been rebooted in a while tend to give massive FPS drops though, so you might want to try joining different servers to see if the problems persist. Additionally, ARMA2 doesn't have a built-in FPS cap as far as I know. I use a program like Dxtory to cap my FPS at 50, otherwise my PC will probably catch fire (I can easily run at Very High with 100+ FPS, but my hardware isn't going to survive that). Overheating might cause stability issues.
  8. Check the .RPT file when you shut down your server. Search for "streaming" and it should show you a list of IDs for static objects (tents, barbed wire, etc.) and all the vehicles which are currently on your server (not counting the currently destroyed ones). If there aren't any vehicles there, you might have a problem. Has the server always been on .6? We started out on .5 with quite some vehicles after a week or so (which obviously kept respawning at their spawn point after a restart), but now on .6 everything is working quite fine (except for the respawning of destroyed vehicles).

DayZ Input Lag with Good Specs

Scour through your My Documents for the various ARMA2 config files. One of them should state something about (top of my head) MaxFramesRenderedAhead or something along those lines. Put it to 1 and you should no longer experience mouse input lag.
  10. No, some of us kind of grew up under the impression you need to put in more effort than simply throwing cash around. Shelling out bucks because you want it "right here, right now" is a hopeless trend sweeping through the Western world. That said, everything dupes in this game and your friend could have given you the weapon for free regardless.
  11. Damnation! Yesterday I found two AS50s near a chopper crash and hid them on a zombie because I already have one and now you're telling me they're worth money?

You said you already found and kicked the hacker, yet you proceed to kick another innocent player and shut down the server to protect your assets. It's very much possible to retrieve the hacker's GUID from the logs and add it to the ban list without bringing the server down. Also, with the modern versions of the BE bypasses they hardly show up in the logs anyway. A simple server restart to reset possibly teleported vehicles to their last saved locations would have been sufficient. I'm sorry you feel utterly victimized by having a hacker on your server, that surely never happened to me or any other server admin around. You do however seem to bend the rules to your will so you can protect, repair and retrieve your chopper. I like how you mentioned "accusing me of admin abuse" even though I never brought that up in the first place, but that must just be your nagging conscious. Report the guy to the CBL and be done with it.

Approximately 3 kilometers in 8 minutes isn't unthinkable with a vehicle, I'm pretty sure I can even use a bicycle to get from Cherno to Electro in less than 10 minutes.

You can't do that to keep "your" chopper safe.
  15. How have you seen them come and go without logs? Open up an .RPT file and search for something like "BAF_AS50_TWS".
  16. I know how to do it myself, but it's more useful if the filter in the original post is amended. ;)
  17. OP stated it only checks during Hive saves and disconnects, so simply joining a server with said gear won't get you kicked right away. In other news, I did find a gear spawning teleporter on my server just now. He didn't disconnect in between dying and suddenly obtaining a full set of gear, including a radio and cans of Mountain Dew. 18. Nice list, but I've set the entries to 1 instead of 5 since I thought the server hosting rules stated you can't kick people for this kind of stuff. Furthermore, given the fact that I've seen someone get kicked for spawning in a vehicle and actually finding said vehicle makes me believe the BE kicks only take place after the fact. I don't think you'll see players losing illegal items over this.
  19. I'd say "no" given the sheer amount of sandbags.
  20. Theoretically one could place, pack and replace the same tent over and over again. I don't think you can't do the same with sandbags however and having a few dozen seems like quite the tall order. I'd ban him and report him for the CBL.
  21. Well, that's a depressing train of thought right there. The whole concept revolves around giving the remainder of the active community a bunch of slightly safer and better maintained servers (given that CBL servers are usually running the most up-to-date filters as well). If this actually discourages the amateur scripters from joining that's just a bonus, but yes, it will inevitably provide a challenge for the more technically adept cheaters.
  22. By the way, I don't know if this has been done yet, but we really should get a listing up of servers using the CBL.
  23. 1.7.2.6/96585, BE 1.163 and everything works fine with the latest filters.
  24. I've asked the same thing, but didn't get an answer yet. On one occasion someone showed up in there with multiple lines (and hacky co-ordinates like -10000,-10000,100), but I've also seen a legit player in there with a single entry.
