    Vehicle spawn idea (NO WINE)

Actually it's 24 hours for tents, if you read all of his posts in the thread, it's only about 6 hours for vehicles. The vehicle spawn time is also something like a week now (give or take a day or three for randomization) if I remember correctly, so if lots of cars are carelessly wrecked, or someone blows up a hoarders camp, then those vehicles will be gone for quite some time. So, the majority of the non-exploded vehicles will be on the map, learn how to look for places people would hide them. Doubling the amount of vehicles wont do much to prevent hoarding, giving each vehicle lots of different potential spawn points instead of one per mission ID might help though.

    Some Really Unlucky F**k

You do realize that L85 is hacked right? There is only one L85 in the mod, and it is the AWS variant found here. Good work, you killed a hacker, for that you are commended. Showing off said hacked gear that you aquired on the forums though, might not be your best move ever.

calling out whoever just shot me

This is why you dont trust strangers. I hope you learned from this experience and shoot them after they are done begging you not to next time.

    Gunshot noise

Are you taking into the account the SD weapons ingame are firing subsonic ammunition, which is significantly quieter than if they were firing conventional ammunition through a supressor?
  6. Admins don't have the power to roll servers back. What happened was you and your guys didn't log out or save your car by what your post looks like at the one minute warning, so your characters final location is wherever the servers last save to hive was which happens every several minutes intermittently. If you did not save your vehicle, it would have reverted back to it's last saved location. That's why it seems like they rolled it back. A truly douchebag abusive admin would not have given you even a short 1 minute warning. When you see that, it's best to stop get out save your car and exit to lobby for the restart to ensure the car is saved, and all of your characters force save by logging out so you are all in the same spot with your freshly acquired goods when it comes back up.

    Seattle 420 - Cheater

First off I'm not sure this is even a legitimate server connected to the actual database because of its server number. If it isn't disregard the post as it is all irrelevant. Edit: I joined it and I have all my gear so it IS on the central database. At around 07:00 EST I was watching some DayZ streams, and I noticed one in the preview where the streamer was flying in a helicopter so I clicked on it out of curiosity, aaaand at that point it was clear they were flying in a venom which is a spawned in vehicle, not a normal huey. So from there I started watching the stream to see what was up, and the guy that turned out to be the pilot was telling everyone where people were on the map and they were discussing spawning in items. At this point I hadn't actually SEEN any evidence nor had I seen the server name or the guy that was hacking's name, so I watched further. Not only did I witness them teleporting, map hacking, item spawning, and vehicle spawning, I also got the name of the guy responsible and the server they were doing this on. The streamer when questioned in chat about the above activities by myself and others told us that they were able to spawn things as his friend was an admin and was just exercising his "admin powers". The hacker spawning things in was, R.I.P. neff on the Seattle 420 Hosted by Rest In Peace Gaming server. The server name in the in game server browser seemed to follow standard naming conventions, so I have no clue if it belongs to a rogue hive or not, so I posted just to be on the safe side. Edit: see above edit There is a recording of said stream here, for some really solid evidence without digging through hours of video skip to around 05:55:00 and watch for a few minutes, as you can literally watch them spawn in some gear and then a vehicle with a mounted weapon and go on a killing rampage. (I also suggest skipping ahead because he doesn't start playing DayZ until a ways into the video).

Yeah he removed the video so the link doesn't work anymore, my bad. It was pretty obvious the guy was cheating as admins cant spawn items like Legacy said. Luckily I have a screenshot I took of them getting into a spawned venom.
  9. It's listed on the forums as a known exploit by Rocket himself, so I imagine with sufficient evidence, or doing it to a DayZ dev team member (they do play afterall) it's possible. It's just hard to get concrete evidence because there isn't any evidence to say their power/internet went out or the cat chewed the power cord or whatever. Most likely they will just get a server ban if an admin catches them as stated above. Rocket was playing with a fix where you stay in game for a few seconds, but it didn't quite work, so there will be a fix soon I'm sure, and your friend won't be able to continue exploiting.

    A fix for off-the-map hoarding

Hi hello friend, please read the rules for this section, it instructs you to use the search function. Should you have done that you would have found this thread. Thank you and have a nice day/evening/night.

UK34, EXCESSIVE Admin Abuse [With Proof]

This is pretty much what I said in my post a few pages ago, the angry mob didn't listen then, and I doubt they will now. They just want blood and don't want to take the time to even try and understand the mechanics of what they are saying.

UK34, EXCESSIVE Admin Abuse [With Proof]

Playing devils advocate here but, After a crash it's actually quite common for tents/vehicles not to respawn until after another restart or so (as is the case often enough on our server). Not to mention, if you killed him as the screenshot indicates, then he would no longer be able to take down his tent, as it is no longer "his", so it would remain there for a few days until it expired.

Yet another "How to stop banditry" thread.

Why would Rocket want to stop banditry exactly? He's already made it clear that it's an integral part of the game that he has no plans to abolish.

To whoever killed me at SW Airfield

So, let me get this straight, if I spend lets say 3-5 minutes logging into a server so I can play with my friends who are elseware on the map and I had logged at a popular location, if I see someone when I log in I'm supposed to disconnect, wait some random amount of time, THEN spend another 3-5 minutes logging in again (assuming the server had a slot)? All because I might have an unfair advantage? No thanks buddy, I'm gonna shoot the poor bastard, take his nice things, and go have fun with my friends. Unfair advantage or not, you take this risk EVERY time you go to a popular area, there is always a chance someone previously logged out there. It's unfortunate but there isn't any way to prevent it, so you need to man up and accept it.

    Build 1.5.8 rolling update

Looks to me sir, that you picked the wrong mod. The Arma platform has always been about ultra realism, so ideally of course any mod built on it is going to do its best to follow that line of thought, the way it's going it will only get more realistic. If that isn't to your taste there are plenty of other less realistic zombie games out there that may accommodate your preferences.
