I bought through Steam and found it very easy to install (however I did not buy specifically for DayZ). All you need to do is use the SixUpdater to install it, then SixLauncher to launch and this completely bypasses Steam, meaning it's not even loaded when you're playing (although this can also be considered a downside if you're trying to meet up with friends off of Steam.

Never ever fully trust someone. I've made that mistake, turned round and carried on looting and then when I had finished clearing out an ENTIRE BUILDING the person that had been covering me shot me...for "funsies". I also called out friendly several times to someone infront of me (they hadn't seen me and didn't reply) so I opened up on them with my ak.

I just printed off a map so I can have my bearings. I don't have one ingame and I wanted to make sure it had the English names on as WELL as the Russian, so I don't get confused by all the roadsigns! By north, do you mean to somewhere like Berezino or somewhere more inland like Rogovo? I headed inland before and came to several smallish settlements, none of which had buildings you could actually go into :(

Plus my job IRL means that I need to work VERY well with a team. Why You Would Like To Join (4 sentences or more): Well, if I'm being honest, I am completely new to DayZ and find myself keep dying, not by zombies I can avoid them, but by Bandits. I always find that I work better with a team, but all the other clans I've seen so far seem to either have their own private servers which no one else can join, or they have their own servers which other people can join, but have ridiculously HUGE camps.I want to be a part of a group that plays DayZ properly, not abusing admin rights on their own server (I don't mind if you own one, I just don't want to put up with server resets when one of us gets killed). I also wish to be able to have a decent conversation with people while playing. DayZ is fun, but it can get a bit lonely out there!

Hello.....AGAIN!!! Basically, I've watched loads of videos where peoples debug monitor is above the sound indicator, but on mine, the debug monitor actually COVERS the sound indicator (so I cannot see how loud I am being). Is this is a bug, or is there a way to move it?

Tried changing size of icons, but they just get smaller and debug monitor is still over sound indicator :S Oh, and they get brought to the middle of the screen for some reason :S

Its is very hard for a n00b! I started yesterday and was running at a military airport from what seemed like a horde of zombies! The server I was in had side chat so I asked for help and a guy said he was in the next hangar and had dropped an AKM and some mags in the one I'm stuck in. I was hiding in a container, so I crawled out and found the AKM! Suddenly I hear screams and even more zombies are running at me! I don't have time to react, so I run towards the other hangar where said player is with some friends, both also have automatic weapons. So what do they do? Run around, avoiding the zombies and both unload their magazines into me shouting "that's for bringing zombies"! That was my longest life so far....and it only lasted about 10 minutes :(

Put the gun in your backpack! The hatchet/axe is enough to take out a player as well (as I found out by one climbing up a ladder infront of me!!) So don't worry about using a gun unless you absolutely have too

Hello :) I've just finished re-installing Arma2 combined ops on my system to be able to play DayZ and I am SOOO excited! Anyway, just a quick question really, I've heard people mentioning that they have to save the positions of their vehicles to have them stay there, how is this done, or is it automatic? Also, is DayZ like MMO's with the servers, as in one save on a server is carried onto the next one (with all your equipment) or is each server individual saves? Thanks and I shall be hiding someone near you to stop you from stealing my beans xD
