BI's website is down and my DayZ buddy just logged on for the first time in a while. We'd like to play, but we need the new beta patch. Anybody care to upload it to dropbox or something similar?

Just like there are hotspots along the coast, there are a few hotspots in the north. The airfields, Stary/Novy Sobor, everywhere with a store, and powerline routes tend to have the most players. Also check the main highways leading north, such as the one that passes through Mogilevka (very common path from Cherno to Stary). And then there's all of the random people scattered in the middle of nowhere, waiting to blow your face off before you ever even get a look at their faces.

Nothing you can do until a solution to server hopping is made, if there even is one. Overlays are already dealt with by BattlEye.

I have to agree. Magical bone welding is very out of place in this game. At the same time, I do enjoy being forced to break some hospital windows and risk everything I've got for medical supplies. You can get by without blood packs by substituting it for cooked meat... you can't get by without morphine. I would never have a reason to visit the hospital.

Soldier camo is not a hacked item. I've run into people in the far north wearing it. They had winchesters and low end pistols. Now, let's put on our thinking caps, kids: if you can spawn any item you wish into a game, are you going to spawn soldier clothing and continue using a Winchester and a Makarov? Please read the wiki instead of making baseless accusations on the forum.

You can't see a thing through the nightvision scope during the day. It doesn't matter anyway, I lost the gun already thanks to a bug climbing a ladder. Oh well. It wasn't very practical in the first place.

I found an FN FAL ANPV S4, which is, to my understanding, the rarest gun in the game. Naturally, I dropped my Remington 870 for it. Besides the fact that I only have one mag for it (and it's the only FN FAL mag I've ever found in a month of playing), the only problem is that I can't disable the night vision scope and make use of it during the day. Is this possible, or do I just have to play on night servers from now on?

I think that taking away the starting Makarov already makes death much more of an ordeal. You can't just get murdered and terrorize Elektro anymore. You have to play it safe and cooperate with others, or else there's a good chance that you're not going to survive. Now that direct chat works and there's some motivation not to run and gun, you're much, much safer against random shot-on-sight deaths. Every life already holds some weight in DayZ, given the amount of time it takes to get a character kitted up. I think a spawn timer would be unnecessary.

Same thing just happened to me, despite the fact that I had BE updated before I launched the game. It only happened on one server so far.
