Correct. The private server can be locked/passworded. You start on the coast though with a new character.

Hi I`m desperate for some help if possible. I`ve just rented a server from vilayer, all nearly setup but I`ve been sent a email below: A rule change that is forbidden by the server operation protocols of DayZ has been detected on your server. Your service at 94.242.227.14:2332 has been detected as being PRIVATE you must remove password otherwise your server will be continue to be stopped. Once you have removed your password you can start your server again. I`m a complete server noob so I`ve made a mistake somewhere and put a password in the wrong place. Appreciate any help. Update: all sorted

Hopefully all this will be dealt with when the standalone gets released. Unfortunately with the amount of hackers/scripters running around it makes it almost impossible to play without the fear of losing it all. This has put me off playing as much as I did which is a serious problem for other players in the same boat. I know its alpha and arma can be easily scripted but my hope is these plugs can be filled before the release.

Hi, Server: DE 346 (Holy Clan) Hacker: Nikolai44 ( not a 100% sure, see below) Time: Saturday 18th August (around 11:50pm gmt) not sure about the time in game as I didn`t have a watch. What happened: Me and my mate were moving to the deer stands/military camp south of the sw airfield. I had stopped to check the rear and my mate had moved off about 50m. Over skye I heard him yelling that he was shooting a player but he wasn`t going down, a couple of seconds later my mate is dead. I`ve sneaked to his position to see a player in a ghillie, armed with a revolver and M107 looting his body. Using cover by a tree I then emptied a full mag from my L85 while hes looting. The player then looked up and disconnected, 2 minutes later session lost. My mate checked the pool and he was the only other one respawning/re-connecting. The server was low with only 5-6 people. I couldnt check because i was running the other way (final words from my mate, "save the L85"). Thanks

Same here mate. I`ve got the hero skin and my stats get reset, I can see them in the scoreboard though. Changing clothes resets them again which didnt happen before.

As already mentioned, drop your backpack before equipping your ghillie/camo. Also the stats return to normal when you respawn.

Happening to me alot now. I saw most of the coastline over several servers i went to :( using 1.7.2.4. Updated to 1.7.2.5 and still the same.
