    Remove starter backpack?

start with nothing, maybe just some random stuff as in real life: a watch, (stuff you have in your pockets) some matches or a lighter..

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

to all of those complaining about bugs and that they are not fixed and stating that you wont pay money for a buggy standalone.. you are forgetting something.. YOU ARE A TESTER! so stop whining and asking for things, nobody owes you anything! if you have complaints about the Arma2 game go on their forum and whine! you did not buy the DayZ mod and they are not asking you to pay for it, when the standalone comes out you can try it and decide if you want to buy, until then STFU they are not adding dogs to the game to keep you playing, they are testing if this will work and if people will want it in the endgame, so again STFU just play the mod as it is, report bugs, give creative suggestions and wait for the standalone. what you are doing now is like you were building a house and i was raging: this is not a house, it doesn't have doors, it doesn't have a roof, it rains inside i wont buy it.. do you see how retarded that is?

    An Argument for Money

what do you need a helicopter for? do you want to travel somewhere? you can give some stuff to the owner and he can fly you wherever you desire.. do you need it to show of? you can kill the owner, steal it.. your group needs/wants the helicopter of another group? you can give them something in return (as a group you have more stuff) and if stuff is hard to find anything you have, has great value to someone else.. plus it's great if helicopters are hard to get/buy.. players will go at war over a helicopter you can even pay with services (help them with something)

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

my message was addressed to everyone who whine not to you specifically, sorry if it seemed the other way and regarding the aggressive comment - they are people.. it's understandable that they lose their temper when you have this forum full of whining ungrateful people.. games are so expensive nowadays yet everyone are buying them, why is it so hard to pay for DayZ? it's not like you have to sell your kidney or something...

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

I don't know how is the economy in your country but this game will be cheap! you pay so much more for any other game, you pay subscription fees for any other MMO but whine when you have to pay ~$15 for a game which started as a free mod.. you are so ungrateful.. this is sad :(

    An Argument for Money

I agree. there is no need to re-invent the wheel and no need to add anything.. except modifying the inventory to make barter easy - I can give you this ghillie suit, what do you have? - I have this can of beans... - pfff no way! - *shoot to the face, takes the ghillie suit, walks away* :D
  11. I don't understand why do so many people want to make this into a clone of an already existing game+zombies.. DayZ has the potential of being something amazing, something what was never done before, as Rocket himself said a game we all wished that it existed.. don't ruin it, you will get xp, epic loot, skill trees in many other games which will come (because everybody will want to make something similar seeing how popular DayZ is) let DayZ be something different.. I hope Rocket will continue in the direction he was going when he started.. as someone once said: "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." so stop trying to add useless stuff, it's a sandbox, all we need are tools and creativity and we can make it into what we want..
  12. very good suggestion, I was thinking about this it will be awesome and realistic and i don't think it will harm anyone if the sound will fade over distance

    The murderer problem

as many said before, the reason why some players are griefing is the fact that there is nothing else to do once you learn to survive.. when this Alpha testing will be over the problem will solve itself.. you will not run into towns and just have all the zombies follow you for hours and lose them in buildings.. attracting a horde of zombie will be suicide.. one will think twice before shooting without any reason because it will be dangerous..

    Poll: should DayZ have classes?

isn't there a class system in DayZ already? you are what you have in your backpack.. you can't be a all in one player, because you do not have space for everything in your bag.. we can also work towards this idea.. serious injures can not be treated by yourself you need a second player - medic (you can only take morphine, bandage yourself but still lose a small amount of blood until you find someone to do it for you and fix you 100% or if you are lone-wolf you can do the bad bandage and after a longer period of time you eventually are completely healed but maybe because of the bad bandage you have a little infection an need some drugs to treat it, broken bones can be partly fixed using branches and 100% fixed by another player, for lone-wolfs again it takes longer to be completely treated if you do not find a medic) big guns can not be stored in your backpack - sniper/soldier/whatever (you chose what you will be using a sniper rifle, winchester, AK47.. or maybe you can store them in your backpack but it takes lots of space and you don't have room for other things you need to survive.. this way you should be able to carry a couple of rifles to your base but you will need the help of the team to get to your base safe) tools used to repair stuff and a full set of first aid tools take bigger space in your backpack - medic/engineer (so you have to choose will you have a backpack full with tools or a backpack fool with medicine) everyone can have a pistol and a bigger gun but medics and engineers do not have space for a lot of ammunition some players crash vehicles more than others (same with helicopters) so if you are good with the in-game controls you will usually be the driver of your group this way you are free to change who you are if you get bored being a medic and you will be motivated to team-up with other players and for lone-wolfs it is harder to survive alone but not impossible and that's why some players want to be lone-wolfs.. for the challenge

    The murderer problem

the purpose is to stay alive as long as possible don't get attached to the loot, your life is the only thing that matters.. do whatever you have to do to stay alive XP will not keep you play longer, you reach the cap and get bored loot wont keep you play longer, you get the legendary weapon and that's it, you get bored, or you start asking for new epic loot.. the fact that there are players killing you on sight makes it harder to stay alive and that's what makes it exciting, when you stay alive for a week you feel you accomplished something and because it is a sandbox you can do whatever you want and keep yourself entertained.. make friends, build a base, players take roles, someone is a hunter who will supply the base with fresh meat, some will be scavenging for medicine/weapons/ammunition/whatever, some will be doctors, some will guard the base, some will repair stuff, someone will make a radio station and keep everybody entertained... be creative, thats what all this is about we do not need skill trees, xp, talents.. if you want to be a doctor, get a bag full of medicine supplies and act like a doctor.. all we need is a world full of things you can interact with and the tools to do so, the rest is up to us..
  17. i think the only skins we need are those you will use to customize your character when you start the game, that's it.. having multiple skins (bandit, zombie hunter, hero, mother teresa etc.) won't do any good if you can change your appearance just by wearing clothes.. i watched some interviews where Rocket was talking about this stuff and i really liked his ideas.. the heartbeat thing, having your hands soaked with blood from looting a freshly killed body.. things like that.. i think we should think of ways of getting a HINT about the players we encounter in the world not ways of labeling the players.. so this dude has blood on his hands... maybe he killed someone, maybe he killed a bandit.. should i shoot him? or maybe i can take advantage of the fact he did not see me and watch him for a while to get to know more about him, to see if it is safe to approach him.. to me this is part of the whole experience.. there are bandits killing on sight? yes, the world is a dangerous place.. use stealth you hate bandits for killing on sight? get a group of people, hunt bandits, kill them, over and over and over again.. start a war.. skins are not the best solution, maybe it's an easy one.. but we do not want that
