maybe this is a good thing.. hardcore gamers will know what is happening and will play DayZ while the amateurs will leave.. and regarding money BI would lose with those players leaving - when the standalone is released and if it is a success, the amateurs will find out about it, the same way they did with the DayZ mod.. so i think there is no need to worry, as long as Rocket & Co follow their dream to make it happen P.S. you are saying that most people don't check forums and then in the same message you ask for a daily progress update.. what for? they won't see it anyway.. I honestly think that the only reason we haven't hear anything from Rocket is because he was busy at gamescom. P.P.S. when you download the mod it says "Alpha Version"

it was meant for those who get confused with all this: engine here, engine there, arma 2, arma 3, arma 2.5.. the Real Virtuality engine for DayZ will have the good from the Arma2 version + new features from the Arma 3 version but it won't be neither of these two it will be DayZ and I kind of think it is even better this way

the problem is that some are forgetting that DayZ is unfinished, don't think about what is now, think about what could be I imagine you'd have a hard time ignoring the infected if they were able to run indoors and if they were travelling in hordes I think - give people less bullets :D and more melee options; and then watch them run for their lives, hide and panic each time a zombie spots them :D P.S. if fatigue is introduced - you are fucked :D

I like the idea of people doing some sick shit (like stalk some player, talk in a spooky voice, hack him with the axe then bandage him, give a blood transfusion and then hack him again :D ) and then cry over a dog being killed :D

apples and oranges the mod was initially created for the Arma community, those who play Arma - so yeah, it was free! it's not their fault you bought a game for a mod when a new game is released and you have to upgrade your computer do you complain that you had to pay $800+ to play that game while the game is advertised at $60?

and all the free games on the internet are still not free because you have to buy a computer to play.. and if your mom buys you a computer it's still not free because you have to pay for internet.. and if you connect via a free wifi hotspot it's still not free because you have to pay for electricity to run the computer.. fuck DayZ! it's a scam!!!! better go buy the new Shoot at Stuff 3.7: Reloaded (HD Edition) + DLCs

@Arkaeus who told you that you will have to pay for the DayZ mod? according to the interviews the DayZ standalone will have it's own version of the Real Virtuality engine just wait for it to be released as an alpha or whatever and then decide if you want it or not what's the point in arguing over this now when it hasn't been released yet?
