The Fundamental Problem of DayZ's Survival Gameplay + Suggestions
Lillo replied to TanX's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I agree with 90% of these ideas. This game have to be more difficult and risky. -
I think this would be introduced in a single player mode when the game will be standalone. No need to add cpu survivors online.
-
Seriously go play another game.
-
It sounds good to me. I agree.

I had already created a topic related to sleeping (link in signature). So I am agree with this idea.

What about introducing Santa Claus in the game then? Seriously, too much kids in this forum.

Edited number 3) Specializations Removed weapon skill system.
-
You have to deal with it. It is a main feature of the game. This game is about surviving, not collecting the best weapons. If you find it too difficult to play, try other games such as COD or Left 4 Dead. DayZ has been having success because it is different from other fps online. Try to play it properly.

I'd like to see more vehicles added to DayZ
Lillo replied to braaienator's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Still I don't see a valid reason to increase the number of vehicles. Maybe a bit but not too much, otherwise the sense of desperation would decrease. Whenever I see a car or a truck, I should feel surprised, relieved and lucky because of the survival nature of the game. If the number of vehicles increase, these feelings won't be anymore (and in a game like this would be a big loss). Also, the game would be plenty of players who use vehicles to run over zombies (like Carmageddon) and this is not good. And again, in movies and videogames about post-apocalyptic worlds there are not so much vehicles, especially when we are in a 225 km2 open world state only. Seriously, if the developers implement all the suggestion given by casual gamers, this game would turn into a mix of GTA and COD Black Ops and would lose its meaning. It takes years to make a masterpiece, but it takes a second to destroy it. -
Bohemia Interactive has never been given a f*ck of casual gamers. All the games it has been doing are for hardcore gamers or for people who love simulations anyway, so there is nothing to do. I bet you (just like many others in this forum) didn't know Arma until you played DayZ.

Skill/Stat System, reduced and adapted to fit DayZ
Lillo replied to nihilisst's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Sounds interesting as a general idea, because people aren't the same in the world, so I expect to see this in the game. But needs some tweak from developers, otherwise it could broke the main nature of the game or its gameplay. -
I'd like to see more vehicles added to DayZ
Lillo replied to braaienator's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
No no no no. The increased number of vehicles would make this game easier and less thrilling. This is DayZ and you have to survive, this is not Need for Speed. I would remove even helicopters, because they don't have sense: a survivor that finds a helicopter would escape from the island. No offence, but everytime I read these kind of posts, they make me think that the main problem is that this mod attracted too much casual gamers. -
I don't understand why some people try to turn this game in an arcadey game like COD, Battlefield or Left 4 Dead. If you find it too difficult, go play with those games then. We are talking about Arma 2 afterall, a game not for everyone (luckily).

The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell
Lillo replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I really like these suggestions, Time Glitch. You're a genius. I couldn't have written better ideas, Rocket must see this post. I was wondering, If you have some freetime you can check my topic (link in my signature) and then tell me what you think (even bad feedbacks). It's just a topic with fewer ideas than yours, but I would like to know your opinions. -
I agree with you.

Keep in mind that this mod has been widely praised for its innovative design elements. It's like one of the main features, that made great this mod, is suddenly removed. It wouldn't be DayZ anymore. Arma 2 is not intended to be played by everyone, so this mod too. Finally we have an original project, so we don't want this to be wasted. Do you want PvE? Go play with Unreal Tournament or Left 4 Dead.

I wrote a similar thing in my topic, but I think that the "class system" doesn't suit well with DayZ. I mean, the idea is good but it needs to be developed in a different way.
-
I agree. By the way I like these ideas.
-
Tnx

It could be a problem for new players. but I personally can deal with it. Arma 2 itself is not a game for everyone, so i expect this for DayZ. Otherwise, there is Left 4 Dead or COD Black Ops
