Server are spawning good loot as they have before, it has not been limited on anyway (as far as we know?). You must be looking from wrong places or at wrong time. I have and after that its same bullshit in new wrapping for kids to buy, just add some rc car, new cover and it sells like apple product for fanboys. I think these cod referenses goes for MW1 and all after that. You know why all kids play those(mw->) games, cuz they are easy that everyone can play them (like apple ^^) I will leave this thread... pointless.

This system could work nicely. I like when you really need to look for stuff. Someone said about not being fair to newbies, It would rather authentic to not find those hc military stuff after a while world has been running since it has been already taken by others... world is not going to give "endless" supply of materials just to be fair for new generations. But problem I think is the limit, how could you limit the number of items? If server side, what happens if you try to join from different server? If hive side, what happens when clan/group farms "all" high grade military gear to one server? I like wear and tear, but it really should be calculated of amount of rounds fired and how gun is maintained (cleaned, greased). Not like, lets say 1000rnds and your gun is done.. that is just stupid, I should be able to play loooooong before any marks of tear would merge.. if the gun is maintained. I dont think everything cant be realistic like that but even somewhat authentic would be nice. I dont want my gun to be leaking can, waiting to be useless. As for this the weapons should be really scarse that you had to use your weapon for long time, atm you can switch weapon at every 10 minutes... Anyway, as you have to find gun, ammo and mags are scarse, maintenance stuff and weapons have to be maintained for longer life. There should some "round count" that when you service with in it you get longest life span and so on (like between 150-200rnds).. So that you cant just clean it after every session and be done with it, but that you have to keep track of the bullet count. After your weapon starts jamming it might be just not being cleaned for a while and after maintenance should work fine or it has degraded to a point of no return and time to start seek for new one. Gun shouldnt be rendered useless at anypoint, maybe inaccurasy that gets wors when degrading prosesses and more freguent jamming. I think this wouldnt make more pvp, at least on the gun owning half. Since your gun is valueable you rather wont risk it, same goes to all. As a sniper you would think if there was enyone else to pin point your loc and kill your ass, if you miss the shots and the guy can be coming for you or is the guy worth the shot as there is no bullets to spray around with.. no more endless camping on the hills. Also raiding towns would become more intence as would all other firefights. Sure newspawn can axe you for your gear or join you for seek of his own... You have always options, its key thing in this game. Some wise could make the loot tables for this... that would be hard and long time experiment (food spawn etc rates)

Just download the torrent and copy that content (all files) into the "@DayZ" folder you have in you arma folder(In my case, steam installation folder and operation arrowhead folder in games). Before copying you can delete/cut previous files to differend folder as backup. ps. OR you can download DayzCommander and update through that.

Just wait! We all need more time with the patch to really see what is happening... some server admins could test those tents and vehicles out and report? Same with the artifacts, just wait for more info... picture in this topic is REALLY MINOR looking artifacting, almost not worth of complaining... What I have seen it has been like 100times worse, that you cant see anything but your self.. JUST WAIT PPL and dont start crying soon as the topic starts... it has been only few hours and peopple are crying already, omg.

Like in the OP. Maybe get option on the other person to "Trade" , like there are "bandage wounds" etc. Then it brings up your invertory and both persons trade boxes, so you can see that he has right item on trade. Then when you are ready press the "trade" button, when both sides have done this they will change items. -

That kind of mechanics would be awesome to dayz, to every weapon... but for snipers you should really externally adjust you zeroing, heading... remove jams..not just beat page up/down while scoped and fire.. , add to that better physics and stuff... sweet. ot.. that guy on the video is damn hilarious at his bf3 videos, the swedish wiking... -

So you are suggesting to make this RnG game? This game is supposed to be authentic, not some unreal tournament laser fight while jumping to the roofs and running lightspeed. Assault rifles as the pistols are VERY usefull if you know how to use them as are the snipers. And you can avoid snipers when you know how to use the terrain... dont just think it should be played like rng cod.. Every tool has its own purpose... Most ppl who complain about snipers are sitting on the loot pile at the cherno hospital, crawling through stary military tents or sprinting across the huge fields even not bothering to check around or use the forests to circle around.. bottom line its your own fault when you get shot. I agree that it would be nice to have more challenging enviroment and mechanics to snipe, just because I would like to take the time to learn it.. not because I get shot because my own stupidity. -
Well, some ppls may still have problem with it... as even now not everyone has those problems, but really hoping its gone :)

What an stupid idea? Just carry o- blood with you as its "universal".. you could make it rare, but then again its not fair for player that has that bloodtype cuz you can only receive from that only.. -
I think you(OP) need to change your avatar, its verry disturbing... weapons could jam without maintenance and long enough they could break...(this has been said(weapon degradation) and its coming to standalone somepoint) Gunsmith could remove jams and take better care of weapons..

Do not ever waste your money something like this... I think you just copy pasted some shit from internet. This kind of PC was "good" like 5 years ago.. You can get good gaming pc(~600) and upgrade it after few years with a part or two, with the price of a good gaming laptop(1000+)... -
Yes, you have to repair everything from the chopper... And note that when you repair ex. the windscreens, you "have to" visit pilots seat after every repair (there is other ways too, this just an exsample..) otherwise the "repair windscreen" text wont turn green and you may repair same windows again by mistake.. or just keep track what windows you repaired and move up 1 by 1 in the list. Same is with every vehicle on every part that has many of them listed.

Some server marks person you saw to the map(orange circle).. like "sniper" "man" "survivor" etc, when you see something like this it could be another player, havent seen zombies marked to the map like that.. maybe it server settings.

You need to download latest arma2 beta patch, those arent random numbers. here: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php check your time zone, if you play server that has same zone(ex: gmt+2) than you its same as in RL (day = day) and from that calculate the hours. Zeds can be fast and bugged that they see you from miles away. Find an axe, your first option... you can find it almost everywhere. -
Didnt you read what Fraggle stated above? That price(10-25) what peopple have been tossing around is for the alpha of the standalone, and you will own the full game.. no need to pay more than that it will be patched to full working game. Only if you buy it after alpha/beta stage it will cost more. edit: ps. ofc you know, when you buy it at alpha stage you are part of the "testing" team to play it before full release. Our job is to seek the bugs and play the game before full release. Not just cry on the forums how bad it is and how much there is bugs. Just give devs feedback about the bugs and stuff that they can correct them.

Also zeds should not be like homing missiles, when you shoot they run straigh at you even when you are behind house/bush or something. I would like this scenario: Someone shoots from cover, one shot. Near by zeds (horde or individuals) hear the shot and get "agro" Sprint certain distance(shot near them as LOUD) lets say like 50-100m and 10-60seconds after that looses interest if nothing new "stimulants" are given and starts wandering off. Slowly wander(shot at distance), move at the general direction to see where it came from and after certain time they will loose interest like 1-5 minutes. If multible shots (gunfight) from distance they should get medium interest, not full sprint tho.. If they see you they attack you but you could lay down and avoid their fov. In woods, gilly should make huge avantage here specially if you stay still, zeds should react more to the movement and sound.. If a new shot is fired again back to the first point(agro), everytime you shoot zed should get better understanding of the direction. Lets say like: 600m and above just general random direction (shot behind they just turn around random like 120-220dec from the original direction and they should not start going at straight line, but just wander there randomly like waiting for new source of agro) 450m, 120 dec 300m, 90 dec 200m 45 dec 100m 15 dec All numbers are straight from the hat and nothing specific, all sounds should be tweaked to fit the bill and so on.. This could make zombie encounter really random.. Would need those random hordes wandering through the map, zeds contrantly spawned... not like now that you can see if ppl is inside the city when there is zeds.. Also they should not spawn like in arcade, you should be able to clear the are and zeds should wander there from the outside if you shoot(see text above), not so much if you hack all 100 zeds with a axe you should be safer from the wandering zeds.. You get the point, just a tought. But town should have way more zeds that ppl dont just run there and clear the place without any problems..

I have had no problem with aiming in this after other fps games... Tough arma had stupid "expo" as a default, that your crosshair moves slower first and after certain speed it gets fast if you know what I mean.. removed that and got much better. So you could turn slowly and accurately but also you could turn very fast and more only with the same amount mouse movement.. There is setting in one of the config files to remove this..
