Personally I could do without them. Would remove some of the frustration from the buggy issues they have. These days the only use a zombie has for me is to let me know if a player is in the area. I would definitly play a game like dayz without the npc factor.

US 4551 Finders, New Private Hive.

I tried playing on your server. Before i connected into the lobby i got banned for hacking apperently. I went on the team speak channel and was told the admins couldnt help me for a few days until the logs where checked and verified. While i can understand the process could very well by complicated for checking the logs I'm still amazed how the server wouldnt show that I hadnt even loaded into the game yet.....Frustrating to say the least. -
Alpha testing is over for mod
Flavalicious replied to RECphantom's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
And your a fucking moron, thanks for coming out. I dont recall ever once saying anything along the lines of "scripting is broken please fix". Im saying as a result of, the mod is no longer enjoyable. The fact that it cant be fixed has nothing to do with the point that I was making, which is the game is no longer enjoyable. Thanks for reading, maybe the internet should require a basic reading comprehension test. [user warned. -Max] -
Alpha testing is over for mod

Sarcasm aside, you would be fully correct if this was some little dip shit mod operation. However Dayz has taken off full tilt, it gets LOADS of media coverage from video game sites, and the fact that the mod is now becoming stand alone does demand a higher level of competance. And theres something in it for Rocket. If they develop a stand alone and only charge 10 dollars they will make a killing off the hype alone. Dont sit there and tell me over a million of Dayz players were also Arma 2 Players before this mod launched. I bought Arma 2 just for Dayz, as did just about everyone else. Once it was decided that there was a profit to be made in launching a stand alone version of the mod then they should of upped the proffesionalism of the project as a whole. Hell if i was about to make 500 000 dollars in under a years worth of work I think i would be upping the anti a bit more. I mean simple shit like FUCKING SERVER SIDE SCREEN tearing......and vehicles/tents not saving.....And bandit skins deleting backpacks and shit. And these are all things that were not broken a month ago that are now for some reason not working.. This is not acceptable standards for a team whos moving from production on an alpha mod to a fucking stand alone platform. Its all grand and dandy that their devoting their time to launching the full game but letting the mod go to complete shit in the process is not going to help encourage gamers to beta test the stand alone when theyve come to expect no communication from the mod team on their current project I mean hell Minecraft alpha was far from perfect but its funny how Notch is always keeping his fans in the loop and addressed issues at a resonable pace -
Alpha testing is over for mod
Flavalicious replied to RECphantom's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Alpha or no alpha. Mod or full game. Doesnt really matter when the point of a video game is to be fun. Dayz was different and enjoyable. Now you cant play on a server of 15+ people for more then 10 minutes without being fucked with by a hacker or someone else. And people will rise to the thread to defend the mod but in its current state its unenjoyable. Spend 2 hours switching servers to find one that doesnt screen tear half the map, and then just when you start to get into the groove and you meet up with your freinds and start to arm yourselves Johny the fucking naked hacker comes up and shits all over your Dayz (pun intended). I mean when stuff started to go awry you could just dodge it most of the time by going somewhere else. Now people are teleporting behind me anywhere I go. In the last week I havent played for more then an hour without getting screwed with. Unplayable = No fun. -
Would you play Dayz without Zombies?
Flavalicious replied to Flavalicious's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
lawls. I enjoyed reading the thread. 2 major defenses of having the zombies from those gathered in here. 1. Go play Arma2. Well.....No thanks. Because Arma 2 does not reflect what dayz without zombies would be. The most obvious reason being permadeath not applying in Arma. Further more I enjoy scavenging for gear while being on the watch for players. Frankly i wont even waste ammo on zombies anymore because of how bugged they are. Now i just run through a town and kite them through a building and save myself tons of trouble. Plus frankly BF3 > Arma 2. Not playing a computer game for a true military simulation....Also i should point out that there is currently no games that would be like Dayz without the zombies. Hell if fallout 3 had a multiplayer aspect then that would be along the lines of a game id like to play. 2. Second "cause" is stating that the zombies are needed to complete the game. I would ask how? lol. In Left 4 Dead you have an objective and the zombies are the challenge/enemy. In Dayz you can forever avoid zombies. Zombie kills reward nothing. There is no objective. There is no completion. So how can a game mechanic be required if it adds nothing to the game in terms of progression or completion. When was the last time any of you ran around a server and ranked up 500+ zombie kills just for the hell of doing it. Dayz is a "zombie" game where your not required to kill zombies. But all logic aside half of you didnt even read the poll. I never said the zombies shouldnt be in the game. I was asking if youd play if they were left out. I also stated that personally i could do without. -
lol. just cant stand seeing goofs on community forums posting in every single thread with their negative bullshit all the time :)

Play what you paid for

I find it halarious how people are like "I wish when i met someone they wouldnt kill me right away because i wanted to work togather with them to kill endless respawning, bugged out zombies who aggro from 1500 meteres away while proned in grass". So let me get this straight. You meet a random dude. You both agree not to shoot each other. Now what? You fucking hold hands and run through virtual KM's of open wilderness with the fucking hopes and dreams that youll actually stay in sight of each other, or that you wont desync and suddenly be out of LOS and forever lost from each other. And from there how do you meet up again? Hell i play with 2 of my IRL freinds that LIVE in the same house as me and sometimes one of us wanders off and crashes and we have to regroup, and that can be a bloody nightmare at times. The concept of teaming up with another player for more then a 5 minute adventure is not practical by any sense. IF you want co-op play play with people you actually know....otherwise shoot anything with a gun before it shoots you. -
I wish your father would of went out to the barn and fucked a pig instead of having sex with your mother the night you were conceived, would save me and the rest of this forum from having to read the pointless bullshit that you post into every thread. kthx.

i snipe from there pretty often on 25-30 person servers without issue. lol. i only find with 30+ people that i run into people coming at me tho this was a while ago i used the hill lots. Best time was me and my freinds sniping some dude out, then the guy respawned and crawled up to us and started talking over direct chat and my freind shit his pants because we were both scoped in. lulz tho the last while ive been letting fresh spawns go. Somewhat lost the fun in killing people who just started their journey, more amusing to kill established players lol
-
So i sniped someone out.....and they apperently spawned a car on top of me in the name of revenge..... just thought id share...
-
lol well i was in the bushes with my freind using his range finder to give me the distance. And when i took the shot the dude dropped. then I was scouting for another target and hes like "car dude car!" and im looking at the road for this car. then i hear engine reving and honking and just in time manage to unscope and see a big black SUV run me over. Looked like an escalade actually.....granted i didnt get that long to look..... on a serious note the rate of hacks is becoming a bit unreal. lol 3 weeks and i got fucked with once. in the last week me and my freind get fucked with every server...lol

i played PVE style for about 2 weeks. Finally got the hang of the game right before everything went mass pvp. Had a good stocked group of 3 and we mowed down zombies in town after town. Got up to about 300 kills each and then we stopped and asked....What the fuck are we doing now? There is no PVE end game in Dayz. Theres no purpose in working togather against only the zombies because there is no rewards for racking up the kill count. Once you get settled in terms of equipment then its just the easy job of recovering what you use, and that becomes a chore. In player vs player its a thrill to hunt other players. Its enjoyable to watch how the battle plays out. Racking up a murder count is more dangerous and entertaining then getting zombie kills. I dont want to fight hordes of mass respawning zombies with AI. I want to fight other players when death is permanent.

A fun night in hell and what bothers me the most about dayz
Flavalicious posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So im up north. Super well equiped. Alive 20+ hours. 200+ zombie kills. A healthy amount of murders/bandit kills. Coyote bag, DMR with 6 clips, m16 with tons of ammo, Night vision.... Running around the fields looking for crashed heli's when i run across a tractor that spawned in a farm yard next to a house that doesnt show up on any of the data base maps. Figure what the hell its night time, its faster then walking and theres likely no one around. So im driving along when suddenly i hit some sort of bloody invisible wall, i fall out of the tractor, broken legs, shock, bleeding, 1000 blood left and knocked cold. Vet server so i had a rough idea of where i was but not 100%. Seeing as i hit nothing physically visible in the game I decided it was fair game to drop the server and join one during the day for a shot at recovering my gear from my glitched death (hey its alpha after all, shit happens). So i jump into a server and bleed to death as expected. I spawn in Chernaus which was partly annoying because before I would just respawn until I was closer (again, glitched death, no dishonor in using such tatic). But of course they removed the forced respawn, which makes me wonder what the hell people are going to do when they spawn in a building or under the ground, or hell when a hacker ports them to debugg world. Anyhow so i run clear across the map, 25 mins up to the area where i died just south of the air field. I managed to find my body despite the fact that i died in some random field that i happened to stumble across. Happily I looted my body and recovered the gear from my bugged death. Now at this moment im annoyed that my stats were reset and that i just spent 30 minutes auto running through barren landscap to recover from a death that was a bug, but overall very relieved to have saved my stuff. So I wonder around for a while checking for heli crash sites when i had to log off for about 20 minutes to take care of some things IRL. I log back in to another server because i couldnt remember the one i was in and boom, im back in the field where i recovered my gear and i have nothing...... Now im pissed off. IF i had died to a bug and just walked away i would of been upset but i would of survived. Again....games alpha. However i had JUST spent 30 minutes bored out of my mind to recover and it HAD WORKED. The gear was there. Nothing like a emotional rollercoster lol. Now this is the 3rd death in a row that hasnt been from pvp or pve. My last death was when the server decided to throw me off the back of a ladder 50 feet off the ground. When i go to the top instead of putting me on the walkway it put me 10 feet behind the ladder.... The death before that the game had some wicked screen tear and i actually fell off the world. Now before i hear all kinds of "you die in dayz its part of the game" and "its alpha dont get upset", take a second and actually read what im saying. Ive accepted that this is alpha and shit happens. However it does super piss me off when the last 3 times ive died have been to buggy servers/game client issues. Theres a good deal of time invested into my characters and its not like im dying with a fucking shotgun and a revolver, I had some serious gear that was earned and not spawned in. I dont want to see bear traps, zombie dogs, and/or any other useless shit in the game in the terms of "features" before i see stability. Both in the client and in the servers. I would really like some system implemented to identify servers with good track rates or something in the terms of "safety". Hell even a "rate up or rate down" system that players can use to build solid reputations for steady servers. This mod reminds me alot of Minecraft at the end of the day. GREAT idea for a truely great game, but without stability people wont invest their hours in. I cant tell you how many times me and freinds built amazing save files only to have the server corrupt into nothing. Hell i dont even care about alt f4'ers because when I shoot someone i shoot them in the head and they dont get the chance. I dont care about bandits, I dont even care about hackers. IF i hear explosions I leave the server before the tank sees me, if i get mass teleported i log out faster then they can start shooting, I can avoid the abused game mechanics, I cant avoid the instability. With that Im off to start all over again, maybe this time ill be lucky and get sniped out by an actual player instead of a server bug. -

holy hell learn to read. I never said exploits are okay, re-read what i posted. Furthermore I can deal with exploits because at least my decision making/reaction COULD have an effect. A bug is beyond my control to control or alter. Anyhow this thread no longer has a purpose now that hacker activity has gone through the roof. In the course of 2 hours tonight ive ran into 2 fully repaired choppers in random places they shouldnt be. Under one of the heli's was a dude in camo gear with a AS50 and every took from your wish list plus a silenced M9 with 7 clips of ammo. And to cap it off he had a coyote bag......Not very good chances of being legit imo. -

Are you a mentally handicapped? okay hero, you can go ahead and stick around on a server with people using scripts and hacks. Theres a difference between crashing the game to avoid death via cheaters and crashing the game to get out of dying in a fair fire fight with another player, if you cant wrap your head around that concept theres no hope for you. -

nice argument bro. how about you only post about stuff you actually know as a fact. If someone alt F4's yea it sucks, but you get the satisfaction of knowing that exploiter is on a different server knocked out and bleeding to death. Unless he decides to wait for a freind to come hold his hand and save his ass. and of the hours ive put into the game only once did i ever become affected by a hacker, so its a slim risk to my game time. -

Well im happy to see a few people had resonable responses, lucky me lol. Again guys, I wouldnt say that im attached to my gear, I would instead say that I enjoy the emersion and when something random happens that perma-deaths me it is upsetting, but again, this wasnt a once in a life time event, this has happened repeatedly to me. When i was first learning the game I couldnt find a gun to save my life, and my very first AK 47 that i found i had all of 5 minutes before i got sniped in the head at Elektro. I wasnt upset at all, that was 5 minutes and a learning expirence. I also enjoy the challenge of countering bandits while surviving in a huge sandbox game. But you got to understand that this character i had poured hours into, thats an investment of my time that I could of been doing something else. Was it wasted time? no, that would be stupid to say becuase i had enjoyment doing it, but that enjoyment was lost to a non game mechanic and thats where the ouch comes from. Its a lost possibility is what it is. Its like the fish that got away, you continue to live and be happy but you always wonder what if :P ;) My entire post was just to help make me feel better and to drive home my desire for stability over features. Alot of mod teams/developers fire content patch after content patch but you never see anything working on stability (and not saying dayz doesnt improve stability because the last few patches have helped a little). And i also do agree that beta is where stability is stream lined however with Dayz as large as it is, its almost skipped through the alpha stage and already in beta.... anyhows the loss of my coyote bag, dmr and nightvision was a blow but ill fire her up tonight and see what i can save of my broken heart. lol :)
