Private Hive DayZmod Integration Project
JakCurse replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
You could release all of the necessary hive information via a server license if you were paranoid about losing TEH FILEZ. Would also allow you to screen server admins/clans etc for people that are looking to cause dramas. -
Great news. Honestly can't wait for all the new stuff this is going to make possible!

Justice = served. Hence, Beans.

We need walkers too. Sure we've got crawlers and the freaky grudge-style monkeys but some plain old walkers would be good. More speed variations!
-
The whole point is that the zeds are out to get YOU, not the other way round.
-
With the word dupe in the phrase do you really need an answer?
-
The exact point at which you revert to survivor skin/switch to bandit skin is unknown.

Which T-Shirt design would you buy?

Haha, did the "you are bugged" not make it clear enough? -

Gutted I can't see the tees, would probably end up buying one too :P -
What, an orange bush or a shadow that looks vaguely like a person?

THE Night is TOO DAMN DARK Thread. Others will be deleted etc.
JakCurse replied to Slamz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Same in the UK. Walking around on night recon patrols having to literally hold on to the pack of the guy in front of you or you'll get lost. I myself don't play at night unless I've managed to miracle a pair of NVG's' date=' but it's not un-realistically dark. As far as I'm aware rocket can't make it any brighter or darker naturally aside from adjusting the time of year/month in the mission settings. Now, I know it's been mentioned but fuck it, I'll mention it again. My view of those of you saying "hurp I can see at night", you're probably speaking from experience of being somewhat near a streetlight-lit area (I don't mean IN a town, I mean close enough that the lights will light up the horizon/cloud cover; known as light pollution or skyglow-this occurs for tens of miles around even a small town) which will do wonders for your visibility at night. I know that's a sweeping generalization, but you don't camp professionally like us soldiers do. You can ask any vet/active duty military personnel and they'll tell you; it's really fucking dark at night. An example being; 10-15% visibility (early or late moon) is almost impossible to see in on a CLEAR night, nevermind on a cloudy one; unless as I've said you're near a light polluted area. If there's light pollution creating skyglow, it makes little difference on a clear night, but the clouds will be illuminated somewhat on an overcast night. Bearing in mind that in this post-apocalyptic chernarus of ours, there's no streetlights to mention; it's bound to be pitch black. This isn't the best example as it's far too orange, but this is the type of effect I'm speaking about. [img']http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3053/2804259548_14a05f0f0f.jpg -

I am yet to find a single crashed helo (I hear their loot is bugged so I'm unsure as to whether there's even any point looking for them) but it would be lovely to have some idea as to where they can be found. Any pointers would be well recieved guise! :D

New spawn/respawn mechanic + New starting kit mechanic.
JakCurse replied to daedrick's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
+1 rep for this. Would need careful balancing but perhaps instead of all paradropping, have people spawn in random places, with random kit (to a degree) so, perhaps you could be lucky and spawn with a winny & supplies or just a load of tin cans. It would spice up the early game no end. My two cents. The only drama I can envisage with random kit at the start is people respawning to change their kit if they spawn with terrible items, perhaps force people to spend 30 minutes/ an hour ingame before dying effects what they spawn with, so no matter whether you're killed by a zed or a bandit or yourself, you gotta wait it out if you don't want to scavenge that badly. -
Well DMR means designated marksman rifle.

What do they do? What purpose do they serve? I have never had anything affect the temperature bar nor the face in any way that I've seen.

Ah right! I tend to play a loner and straight up avoid other players unless rolling with my clanmates, but the few times I've been a bandit I've never noticed a change. Odd.
