  1. Hi all,

Just switched our server over to Namalsk, due to the other Namalsk servers we've played on not being regularly monitored by admins. There's an admin on every day usually til around midnight.

Name: US 1281 COTF Tree Killers

    Difficulty: Veteran

    Daytime: Normal 24 Cycle UTC-12

    3rd Person: ON

    Crosshairs: OFF

    Map Waypoints: ON

    Nametags: OFF

    Sidechat: ON

See you guys in the wilderness.

  2. Hi guys. Just wanted to extend an invite to our DayZ server. It's hosted by Vilayer on their new Hive, so you may or may not have to create a new character when you join. If you don't mind starting over, we usually have an admin on most of the day monitoring for unusual activity. The server info is as follows:

Server Name: US 1281 COTF Tree Killers

    Difficulty: Veteran

    Crosshairs: OFF

    3rd Person: ON

    Waypoints: ON

    Time Zone: UTC-5

Feel free to PM me if you guys have any questions. Hope to see some more people on soon.

  3. One last thing I haven't seen mentioned, you have to try your best to place your tent as close to the tree trunk as possible. It's a bit of a glitch within the game, but this dramatically decreases the usable area on the tent. What this means is if anyone happens across your tent, they will have to put in some work to find a part of the tent which allows them to view and access its contents.

Be careful, you run into the possibility of hiding your tent too well and it not being accessible to even you.

  4. I really posted this to see if the guy would see and maybe tell me why he did it ( after a paragraph of how he made love to my mother)

Sad but unfortunately very true, as evidenced by the countless threads of alleged admin abuse. I say alleged because only a few provide any evidence to back up their claim, but at the same time, the threads without proof can't all be incorrect can they?

  5. As a temporary fix, you could delete the registry entries for ArmA 2 and re-install the game. You will of course run in to the problem where your cd key may be in use and you will not be able to play.

There really aren't any other measures you can take to resolve the problem. As stated on the BattleEye main page, there's nothing they can do to recover your cd key. Sorry about your luck, but you may be able to still play on some private hive servers or those that do not require a cd key.

I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear, but I'm just trying to make you aware of the few options you have.

  6. While I agree with your idea of a temporary debuff being applied to people who disconnect during combat, the auto-kill mechanics can't be applied in a fair manner. Every single player, even those with top of the line machines, would eventually suffer from a software/driver conflict that would cause their game to crash, which would be interpreted as a disconnect. To "kill" their characters and force them on a hazardous venture to recuperate their gear due to a computer glitch seems a bit harsh.

As for the debuff concept, it seems like it would function somewhat similar to declaring yourself hostile in PVP or to an opposing faction like in an MMO. Unlike an MMO however, it would probably only be a status seen on that particular person's screen and not an icon or flag floating above the person's head.

Good idea though, hopefully this or something like it comes out in the near future.

  7. Judging from the fact your victim insisted on venturing into the Stary Sobor tents after

A: Multiple voice comms requesting he declare his intentions at the risk of being considered hostile and therefore shot/killed.

B: Multiple chat messages requesting his intentions at the risk of being considered hostile and therefore shot/killed.

C: Ignoring the sound of your G17 when you killed the zombie in the tents

You throughly exhausted your non-deadly options before being forced to protect yourself, I commend your proper use of force.
