    Physical exertion....

Yes it does, the more u sprint the sooner you'll need to drink & eat
  2. Great story and you're alive quite the time, i can never get myself so far cuz i'm the explorer type. I always want to go in the deep unknown dangerous places or crowded places and interact with other survivors, mostly getting me shot before i reach day 2. Also i play alone so i need the interaction :(

    Ability to have a bath

I don't think washing ALONE should be in the game, i'd say it could rather be a Hygiene meter. Brushing your teeth makes it go up a little, washing near a well it should go up medium and bathing in a bathtub, shower or pond should top it off. Zomies should react by guided towards your overall position and players should hear flies just like with the dead bodies.
  4. Just download the 1.7.2.5 files and copy them into your directory (C => steam => steamapps => common => arma 2 operation arrowhead => @dayz) and override them over the older (1.7.2.4) ones. When launching SixLauncher, DO NOT PRESS VERIFY!! Just double click a server you'd like to join. If you click verify, the program overrides your files in the @dayz folder back to 1.7.2.4. Once you double clicked a server you'd like to join, SixLauncher will say your version is outdated and ask if you'd like to join anyway, just click Yes and then you're playing 1.7.2.5 with SixLauncher
  5. I'm used to the topography map now, but the satellite map can be handy to see where you can set up shop more hidden in between forests, etc... Or can be used by newer people to see what's coming in a more visual-realistic mode as how they'll see it in-game. I personally already know the parts i go in quite well so i only use topo maps together with my compass to steer me in the right direction.
  6. Not bad but my map i use now (i won't name it since i want to give you guys a chance) is still better. My reasons as to why: 1) Everything's a square, to me it just 'looks' weirder and less clear to me as what is where and how big the loot spawns are. 2) I found some things missing, mainly the military spawn north by north-east of Cherno, they don't seem to be on the map? 3) No rocks? If i spawn somewhere and it says 'wilderness' i'd love to check where i am based on roads, hills, rocks, etc... 4) I'd also love more of the visual things in there, as to hughe towers, exhaust towers from factories, churches, etc... Maybe a positive thing, the spawn points are really great! Makes it easier to spot where u might have spawned if it isn't very clear, or i you want to know which side (east or west) of a town you spawned instead of running around and agroing a crapload of zombies to find out. The loot rates, spawns and stuff you find where are all in order so far i could tell, so try and hone it, make it a little more eye-friendly, polish it and after that it could be a great map for new players to start out with!

    How do you install 1.7.2.5

Just use the link this fellow gave us to download 1.7.2.5 if you want and override the folder in your C:/ ... folder You CAN run SixLauncher, all you have to do is: 1) Open SixLauncher 2) DO NOT VERIFY 3) After just opening it, click server you'd like to join and double click it to join. 4) If it's a 1.7.2.5 server, it will say your system isn't the same version and asks you if you'd like to join anyway, click Yes. 5) Have fun with the new version.

    New player experience thus far

Yeah u can, but i personally think it's garbage (literally) I just run around, trying to get a Hatchet first, so i can KILL a zed atleast up close. Second, when chased, hide in buildings, and if they come up a staircase and there is no way out, just Abort and wait a few mins then hop back in the server. Or run in a building with 2 entrances, they will walk in the first as you run out the second and you will lose agro. Crawl ALOT, learn how far u aggro zombies, how loud u can be etc... i had alot of issues with this too at first, but i've been playing for 1 week and a half now and i've pretty much mastered this, and where to find weapons and other stuff. I personally NEVER leave Cherno or Elektro lol, mostly cuz i try n help ppl there and then get shot... But that's the way i like to play :) Personally i just ALT+TAB to go to my map, when crawled in a safe position (building, shade of a tree, bushes, etc...)

    New player experience thus far

Mainly you should use this website for map : http://dayzdb.com/map#3.050.119 And also to look for loot. Secondly, DO go in main cities, on a server with few people or average people (not more than 20 should do). Then just stroll by, looting buildings and military firestations. If u get shot, no problem cuz u don't have anything anyway, once u get a gun, you're open for business. (don't use cans...)
  11. I'm having no problem with the SixUpdateLauncher, but since DayZCommander lets you already install the 1.7.2.5 update, i decided to try that too. I don't have problem with my 6-updater, but i get the same 'Bad version, server rejected connection' when i use DayZCommander, and i connect to the same servers i do as with 6-updater. Weird indeed
  12. Hey there, fellow survivor. Feeling insecure, scared, even completely terrified to meet another survivor? Here are some basic tips & tricks how to gain someone's trust! (I'm not saying this will ALWAYS work...) 1) Learn the lay of the land and the cities, you have more friendly survivors running around in the cities than on the northern towns/military spawns/big hills. Those are PvP areas. But if you get shot in let us say Cherno or Elektro, the other guy's probably scared shitless and panicks and not out for random people to kill with his AS50 on a grassy hilltop. 2) Spot him first. Hide, camp, get a decent gun & camp the top of the firestation for lookout. Your random survivor might be fighting zeds and looting buildings, try to follow him and if he gets close, warn him first over direct chat!!. 3) Either he runs scared, or he knows you are there, you said you were 'friendly!' and he will try and investigate. Now try and get in his visual line of sight, but still well hidden (pop only your head out of a wall and say 'friendly don't shoot i can see you!' or something). 4) By now whether you pop out your head several times, run by him quickly, or stalk him from the back when he's looting, he might have that feeling ''If he wanted to shoot me, he had plenty of oppertunities by now''. Be cautious, but come closer a bit, try and gain his trust by not shooting his skull open on sight. Most survivors will by now give you the same trust you give them, a silent agreement of not shooting eachother, but remain cautious. 5) Each person may react differently, but having numerous oppertunities to kill them and yet you didn't, will make them a lot less hostile towards you. Give him a bloodbag transfusion, or a gun and some ammo if he only has an axe or nothing at all. 6) Have fun with your newly acquired buddy as you both run through Cherno or Elektro or any other city. 7) Don't run straight infront of people out of nowhere! It scares them, even if you yell friendly quickly, they will still shoot you because the hughe adrenaline rush they get from suddenly seeing a dude run by him with an M4 or so. A recap => Make sure they know you see them, help them by medical treatment or by saving them/helping them shoot zombies, give them ammo, etc..., have fun with your newly acquired buddy. (based on several true stories of mine, the best is where i played for almost 2 hours with a guy running around the city helping others, as most people won't try and shoot 2 at once because they know they die too, giving guns, ammo, food, drinks, bloodbags etc...) Have fun, be cautious but not a KOS! ;-)

    DayZ Stories

Just logged back in this morning in firehouse tower of Cherno, as i heard M16 gunfire from the supermarket. I saw this guy struggeling with zombies (heard auotmatic fire, not that ammo conserving but oké). Next thing i know this guy rushes out, running straight to me. I went downstairs and waited. He ran through the red doors to the corner with the fireman-poles, chased by 10 or more zombies. As the friendly player i am, i shot them all. After a small stalemate of head-popping and making sure he was friendly (and he made sure i was), we came to a silent agreement to run around together. He then asked me to blood bag him and also did one on me for saving him from the zombies (he might've been out of ammo?). We then proceeded towards the church where a fellow was chased by a zed, running to the church from the north-east. I shouted: 'get in the church!!!' He probably figured he didn't have much to lose if we shot him, hurried in the church and we killed his persuing zombies. Seemingly happy we weren't the type that KOS he started to looting the church to no avail, because there was no gun. I told him i had seen an AKM in the top of the firehouse so we led him there and 5 minutes later this guy was from bare-bones to fully armed with an AKM. He felt safe and secure, so we headed towards the northern military spawns in search for ammo along the coastal/south of cherno. A hughe group of zeds chased us from the square infront of the bell-tower town hall building, and unfortunately we scattered... Pascal (unarmed guy) ran back to the church, Niket (the M16 guy) ran off somewhere north and i kept going north-east. Later i saw that Pascal had been killed :( Niket lost connection. I continued north-east towards the military camps, and as i made my way to the hangar not far from there i spotted a guy getting chased by zombies, running into the hangar. Being in a friendly mood i rushed in and be his hero too. Mighty suspicious the guy was! After clearing the zeds he kept hiding and sneaking out the other door, but after a while i saw him sneaking around me, seeing what i was doing. As i got to the military camp i saw an MP5 with 3 mags, and i got the guy (Capico) to come in and grab the gun & ammo. Since i didn't really was 100% sure he wasn't going to pump me full i still was cautious but relieved i had convinced him that friendly players are still around. Unfortunately, as i raided the other military tent, my newly acquired buddy ran into the medical tent, bumped upon another guy!! This dude probably just freaked out and unloaded on Capico, killing him :'(. Since i wasn't going to take chances, i shot the guy too. Lost a ton of blood, around 4000 left, i tried making my way back to the church and eventualy the firehouse to get some more ammo. As i ran through several buildings i stumped on a guy, we like ran right past eachother, i tried running out the backdoor for a more friendly aproach, he turned and shot me once with his double-barrel. I died. I hope he panicked and wasn't a bad person, but i'm happy i will help the guy now with my death. I had NVGs, rangefinder, M4A3 CCO, PDW, enough mags for all guns, map, GPS, toolbox, blood bags, painkillers, ALICE pack,... He is going to be happy :) Faith in Humanity restored? I'll let you decide ;)
  15. To Lpaulo & his buddy who just got shot in the firehouse in cherno on FR 163 server around midnight (or a bit later) server time; PLEASE RESPOND
  16. Hey i just wondered, if you know a guy's avatarname, is there a way to find out which steam he has, or can you send him a PM in-game or any other meaning of reaching someone if you only know their avatarname?

    Do all head shots kill?

Every headshot is a 1-shot-kill, don't know about the Crowbar and Hatchet on players though
  19. Jepix

    Seriously???

I think u can run past it on the right once u open that door
  20. Jepix

How do you handle insane aggro?

Run your ass to a firestation, hope no survivor is in, grab guns, shoot. If all else fails, Abort and go to another server for guns.
  21. So i was holed up in Elektro Church on DE 177 server (with like 40 people in it) and i was ready to make some friends. Recently i had made a positive encounter there with another guy, there was an enfield and he asked if he could take it, i told him yes (keeping him zeroed with my AKM), he took it and ran off into the city. I had my hopes up for more of these encounters today, so here i was, shooting zombies, making it an easier place for everyone. Some time later, i hear a massive gunfight break out, like 5-8 different gun sounds, it was brutal. Some people died and i was on my toes for bandits. These 2 dudes try n rob me now! Probably the same ones who shot some poor survivors before, and they try n zig-zag rush their way into the church. Fortunately they weren't synchronized as i could easily take out the first then switch to the second. They didn't reply to any of my 'friendly' shouts so i just shot them. As weary as i was, a few moments later the doors opened again. I see a dude rushing in the doorway, looting zombies with an axe. So i'm like 'friendly don't move!' He panicks his arse and starts running away. 1 minute later i see him poping his head around the corner of the door, only now with a makarov. So i'm there behind the pedestal with the Bible on it, and what i thought was that he started firing his gun at me! I shot him a couple of times in the face. As i rushed forward to claim my victory, another dude pops from the left and starts looting his corpse, guess what, he also had a makarov... I had mistaken the 2nd guy's firing for the dude that poped his head out (maybe the 1st one didn't want to kill me after all...) Now i feel bad for slaughtering the first one, not the second one, but still. It feels like i'm the guy now that i hated when i started playing, someone that shoots you in the face for no reason...

    Feeling sorry

Doesn't even matter anymore, just got sniped north of elektro for no reason, never saw or heard him, 'boom'... This game blows monkeyd... At 5 Murders (not bandit kills) you should appear on GPSes, at 10 murders on maps and at 15 murders on the HUD of everyone else in the server so they can exactly know where you are and hunt them down. If these sums of btches want PvP, this is a great way for them to get it! And would hold back the neutral ones more
  23. Jepix

    Feeling sorry

Sadly, those guys won't know :(
  24. Jepix

    Surviving. Really?

Factions would be great, and that people from the same faction CANNOT shoot eachother, otherwise factions would be useless again as people will still go out alone...
  25. Jepix

    Feeling sorry

It's just so sad there is hardly a way of telling wether he's going to kill you or not... now i understand the dozens of dudes who shot me in the past, cuz they probably had no idea wether i was going to pop their heads in if they looked away for 1 second... i find it sad :( i want to team up more lol
