Woaw no not at all, this is a hacker's doing! Not a glitch. Basically don't join servers with massive amounts of players (check if there's a peak, if so it's probably safer outside the peak hours) because hackers like to rape many people at the same time. It's a great game but the bugs and other stuff hardly makes it not even worthwhile looting everything and then losing it all again. My personnal tip, get a tent or 2 (or more), store valuable gear and try and get a vehicle & wait for the standalone :D

dayz ideas: player hideouts bigger hospitals new maps and ww2
Jepix replied to apache25's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
You will possibly/probably be able to build above ground and underground, but it will be in the standalone game (not possible in the Arma 2 mod i guess, or takes too much time they could be spending on the standalone which i'd rather) -
Suggestions for the DayZ standalone - thinking outside of the limitations of an Arma 2 mod.
Jepix replied to ruarz's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Hear me out. If the standalone game comes, the servers that are booted up have just experienced the zombie apocalypse and there is plenty of food & drinks laying around, guns still not that common but not uncommon aswell. But the longer the game progresses, the more people need food & drinks and the cans of preserves and bottled water & soda cans are running out, so they need to start hunting & filling empty bottles (of whiskey idk/idc) with water in order to survive. You should be able to repair some water stations or water towers & guard them with your clan/group/community, or haul all the water to your base in big basins or crates. You should start growing your own food aswell, as you would need vitamines which meat from hunted animals don't give, like you need to eat fruit & vegetables aswell (which you grow). Cars & materials can be found at abandoned car shops or car graveyards, should be able to fix water pipes, electricity stations / cables so you can use an old fashioned telephone to call other people's bases. Make big quarantined cities aswell, where you can find dead/zombified military personnel and a crapload of zombies (like a few 1000 in a city) so you can't really run around quickly, but have to sneak even more. I'd also love to see skyscrapers, might be hard to have 50-100 accessable floors, so some might've been 'destroyed' in the chaos and you can't enter them, but it would be great to make a camp on top of one of those! Anyway, i don't know if most of these ideas would even be possible to create in the standalone game or it might take an immense time to make this happen, or if it would even be playable for the players. But the more realism, the greater this game!! -

You will be able to build structures and dig holes and hallways under ground so you can have 1 tiny hole sticking out of a rocky hill, but an entire cave-like mansion underneath the hill. Until someone digs into your room from the other side of the hill, with the same idea as you...

SixLauncher always waits a bit until the update is legit & working correctly and giving people time to hear about it so admins can change their servers first to the new update, THEN it releases it to everyone using SixLauncher, mostly around a week later

Goody bag tent for new players, or bandaids sent on the wings of angels?
Jepix replied to vcmedic's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Look it the other way, that guy probably cursed you when he spawned fresh, went to his tent and saw everything was gone! :D But you raised your karma and it made you feel better and that's great ;) -
My take on Dayz, random thoughts from a new guy.
Jepix replied to Jodan's topic in New Player Discussion
You should remember that the DayZ mod as-is now is a modification of the bits and bytes that created ArmA 2 and ArmA 2: OA. This means the DayZ mod has quite the limits. Alot of these things could (and perhaps will) be realized in the standalone game where Rocket creates (what i think) his own 'script' for the game and programs the most of the code himself/by others and isn't just copied form ArmA 2, therefor allowing things to happen in the standalone game that can't be done so easily in the mod. -
[ETW] Elektro Total War (Server US2386)
Jepix replied to Stings2pee's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
True that, there's alot of posts already about people getting kicked or banned from server after killing the admin(s), probably cuz they have high end loot and /rage irl -
A cool thing to add in the mod (and definately the standalone game!) would be shovels. It would be a another melee weapon with long range and a sharp edge. It would also be used to flatten out dirt surfaces (so not concrete ofc) so you can place tents & make bases/camps on hillslopes! Would say it's as common as other melees like the hatchet & crowbar.

The title says it all, it seems whenever i try joining a server (and i tried this on like 50 different servers) with less than 5-6 players, it seems to be NON STOP stuck on the black 'Loading' screen. Whenver i try joining a server with 7 people already in it, it's connected in a minute. The reason i adress this is because i was at Zelenogorsk trying to set up camp somewhere & raid the NW airfield, but this bug teleported me to Solnizchy (something like that) WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out east and i need to head over the entire map west.... So instead of losing all my gear to noobs with pistols who kill me or bandit snipers, i'd like to quietly make my way back to where i originally was, set up shop on a quiet server and start my base of operations there but it seems the lovely mod won't let me :) So, anyone got an opinion or solution or the same issue as to why i can't join low populated servers? (Ping & connectivity are good as i only pick European servers)

I'm not stupid :P these servers are 1.7.2.5 in SixLauncher and DayzCommander :D -
The bleed system - Internal cooldown?
Jepix replied to Diminish's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yea it's like bandaging yourself gives you the stop bleeding effect and a 10 or more minute immunity or severely less chance of a zed causing bleeding to you -
Generally no one talks or writes because that means they give away the fact that someone's nearby. If you'd stalk through Cherno and suddenly hear 2 people talking, you'd feel the adrenaline pounding, and they have lost the element of surprise. Most teamed players are talking in 3rd party communication software such as skype, steam voicechat, teamspeak, ventrilo, etc... as to still be able to talk to their playmates and not alert anyone nearby in the game that someone's nearby with a group of players. If you do however play alone, the ingame voice-chat/regular chat can offer you life instead of death somethimes. Just switch it to Direct Channel by using the ; or : key and doubleclick left Caps Lock (or hold or just modify what button suits you best in the Settings). Whenever you see a survivor, you can talk using your mic or type with your keyboard to let him know you're there, because 99.999999% of the time, if they see you and no words have been exchanged, they will shoot you and so should you if the player does not respond (it could save your life). Be carefull though, as a 3rd player around may be able to hear/read your chatting and try and find u guys, kill you and steal your loot. Personally i prefer the stalk version, as i keep silenct 9/10 times and let him do his business and leave, if he has a bandit rag i pop his skull in.

i've had some fun ecounters with the BSB TS channel , just ceck out their TS join in a chatroom and run around a little :) mostly i prefer to be alone since i don't fully trust people i meet on the bsb TS even though the didn't kill me after 2 hours but i like the peace and quiet of a nice tent in the middle of the woods, would be more fun if teaming up had REAL rewards, like in real life: strenght in numbers without people shooting you in the back of the head for beanz

Why can't two prone guys shoot each other?
Jepix replied to scaramoosh's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You shot your friend and called him a cunt, woaw, if i was him, i'd pick new friends -
Hey there, maybe you should try these settings, it works for me and alot more people! It looks less detailed but non the less nicer. I did up the Visibility distance to about 3800-4000 because my comp can take it, but there will be no more graphical glitches, such as these provided by you in the picture or big dark and brown rectangles flashing over the screen. Hopefully it works for you guys too!

Have we figured out how humanity works yet?
Jepix replied to bazbake's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Seriously, whenever i login somethimes i just (out of nowhere) seem to have -13000 ish humanity! My zombie kills & bandit kills are reset to 0, got all my ammo again (all mags are filled) but the humanity sticks at -13000 ish and never goes away (after relogging or something) so i mostly get KOSed even harder now since they think i'm a bandit while i'm not!! -
Humanity skins (hero & bandit) are in 99% of the times useless. All you see in big cities are fresh-spawns that have no skins yet, so you can still get shot easily. If they just as poke their heads around the corner while you try and evaluate what he is, he can just shoot you. If you have no idea that a dude was on the top floor of the house and u just cake-walk up there, he can just shoot you. If you're running around the edges of a city, a sniper can just shoot you. So what's the point of bandit skins exactly when 75% of the time people you see are fresh-spawns and can be bandits for all you know and 25% of the people are snipers far far away (so skins are completely useless)? Personally i'd say, get pve & pvp servers, on pve server you get severe reprecussions if you murder someone, after 3 murders you get shown on the map and after 5 murder you can see his red highlighted posture in the gameworld so that heros can outhunt these mofos. On pvp servers, it's all about killing and they can do their business without bothering us.
-
i literally get -13000 humanity somethimes when i log in and it stays there until i get shot and die, wtf they rly should fix this bug cuz ppl just KOS even more on us now since of the bandit rags on my head instead of a nice baseball cap

Sixlauncher doesn't update to 1.7.2.5 yet because of the many bugs. If you want 1.7.2.5 version you have to manually copy paste the files into your @DayZ folder and when you open SIxLauncher, DONT press verify, just double-click a server and press yes and join :)

If you could implement ANYTHING What would you?
Jepix replied to Minsty's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Maybe a less realistic aspect is to add a skill system/experience system which rewards you for killing zombies and helping players. Teaming up to get those special hard to get skills, and definately make ammo food and water like 10x harder to find, so people will trade stuff for ammo, leather (to make clothes for heat), food water you name it. -
Day Z should be a constant battle for the resources you need, not a constant battle for something to do.
Jepix replied to Silent331's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Now when i spawn, i rush to get a hatchet, rush in cherno or elektro or balota airfield to get a military gun, go further in the city and shoot people. Why? Cuz there is literally NOTHING else to do :\ helping someone isn't rewarding enough, perk points should be added like a skill system perhaps? idk just make it more rewarding so people actualy help others
