This isn't a Q&A (apologize if its the wrong section for this). I wanted to just quickly point out what rocket recently said on reddit. Everyone has a personal opinion with the [sA], the way Rocket handled the community and the end of last year, the lack of updates (albeit now we are getting more :) ) and so on. I obviously can tell that the passion is still there with him on this project. With the stress of meeting a deadline/WarZ fiasco I am glad Rocket is back to himself. He continues to listen to the community, but a the end of the day what I take away is Rocket's going to make the game his way. The way he wants, the game he would want to play... It's refreshing to see this and the fact that he makes no apologizes and stands up to what he wants.

rockets post on redditDayZ isn't the only one not wanting another WarZ scam fiasco on Steam. Valve is probably putting the pressure on and Rocket wants to fix what he can before Valve takes a peak under the hood -

Again, I liked the forum mod interview. It wasn't short and appeared to be a little unorganized. That was my first impression anyways. I was commenting on an interview stand point. It's easier to have one person ask questions and dialog then through multiple people. It also doesn't hurt that it wasn't on a TS channel hearing constant chat sounds and people logging in/out. -

Whether you like or dislike Rinocrunch this was well put together interview. If the forum moderators take anything from this; keep the next interview (if you have one) short, pre-write all questions and have one person asking the questions. I liked the the forum mods interview and I do understand it was a last minute thing. -
If I remember correctly I heard/read that Rocket wanted a mixture of both walking and running. They should keep running zombies because without a stamina bar for running that is the only real threat they have. Add in some walking zombies and you have the Michael Myers effect where true danger will keep coming after you no matter how fast you run.

I thought I was only one thinking that "soooooo many things that need to be worked on" when listening to the interview. I think on a positive note the devteam are getting hardest things completed first, imo.

Consolidated Weapons/Equipment suggestions

I'm sure most are already mentioned. Just thought I would share my list 1) Game Voice/text commands (i.e."Friendly", "Look out!", "Hands up!" similar menu like CounterStrike) 2) While prone; ability to spin on to back and half sit ready to shoot behind you. (i.e. double "XX" key) 3) Have a more stealth approach which makes you creep a lot slower but doesn't make noise (maybe a low percentage you would make noise) 4) Trade window (instead of dropping items on the ground) that you can accept or decline so trade is approved 5) Holster/shoulder weapons (which are view-able) 6) Make 1st person view better (have field vision be 120 degrees; see more gun and hands) 7) Run/Walk and change weapons without stopping 8) Hand gestures similar to game/text commands (gestures to show friendly, or military hand gestures to communicate to your team silently) 9) The ability to wave a white flag (surrender gesture) 10) The ability to toss handcuffs to someone (allowing player to attach handcuffs to themselves) 11) Log out timer which will prevent Alt+4ers (also timer if shot on or you shoot 30sec) 12) Have the ability to sleep as a log-out option (requires a bed, sleeping bag, etc..) This will allow character to heal slowly over time while logged out. You could have to have a set placeholder for character so if it does get shot while away you would die 13) Leave recorded tapes, notes, graffiti, etc. 14) Caves and tunnels (could be set as instances which would could change each time you enter) 15) Have a selection of non-lethal weapons (i.e. taser, pepper spray, tear gas, chloroform, handcuffs metal, zipcuffs; also have bean bag slugs or SIM rounds) 16) Allow guns to be stored in backpacks, but for larger guns you have to disassemble them (so when you take out a sniper weapon you have an animation of you putting the gun back together) 17) Stack gear 18) Allow barricade material to fortify a place 19) Have Battering Ram items, Door Jam Spreaders, JAWS of life, Halligans *also used as weapon (Police/Rescue style tool) to enter buildings and barricades 20) Have Tactical inspection mirrors 21) Military/Police flashlight has cap for glass breaker (use flashlight as melee weapon too) 22) Bolt cutters for fences and locks -
I just voted yes, but after talking with some co-workers who play DayZ I would like to change my opinion. It would be a very controversial feature; no one can deny that. I think it will draw focus away from what makes this game good and the negative effects of this out-way the good. I'm also thinking of the potential for this game to be banned in most countries.

Great thing about this game! Realism Not that I am defending the dead, but it only takes one guy to freak out and start shooting and then you got a firefight for no reason. Kudos to your team for not only trying to help but staying tactically smart.
