First name: Mike Age: 17 TimeZone: Eastern Time Zone Why you want to join: I would like to join a clan/group because I've been playing DayZ for about 2 months on and off, and I've now reached an end-game point where I have just about all of the best items around (Not including the evasive NVGs) and would like to put my iteams, and knowledge of the game to use in a team, or even teaching new players. Teamwork on a scale 1 to 10 as 10 being the highest: 10 Do you have Teamspeak: Yes Do you have Skype(Only put Yes or No): Yes How long have you played DayZ(Dont Lie) Over 2 months on and off, and according to steam, 302 consecutive hours.

Screen is completely black, definitely not night time, I've experienced many DayZ nights, and I can confirm that it isn't when I checked my watch on my map. I cannot bring up my compass/watch unless I look at them on the map, I can see all UI (Detection meters, ammunition count, etc.) and can bring up my gear menu. This occurs on all servers I have tried so far (15+ easily) and I'm running the latest ArmA beta patch along with the latest DayZ mod files. I can confirm my last location: Debug forest, although I can hear my footsteps in thick grass which isn't found in the debug area I spawned in and trekked through. I can also hear my weapons fire, although I cannot see them. Fixed: Reinstallation of Beta patch worked for me.

Geralt, are you running the latest ArmA beta patch? It could be an issue but I doubt it, I'm updating it right now to find out. Fixed: If you have the beta patch, reinstall it, the beta patch worked for me.

This is happening to me too, I've been playing since release and I can verify that in my issue it is certainly not nighttime, and I've tried the flashlight, no light emits from it. I can see all HUD, hear myself walk, and hear my gunshots, just can't see anything at all, and I've also brought up my map to check the watch there, because watch/compass doesn't show up when I hold or toggle them, and it was 3:00PM when I checked them, certainly daytime.

Date/Time: 6/20/12, since 9:00AM Central Time What happened: Pitch black screen, can see only HUD and gear menu, I can also hear my character shoot and walk. Where you were: Debug forest What you were doing: Attempting to leave debug forest into the main map. *Current installed version: 1.7.1.5 *Server(s) you were on: Tried so many different servers I couldn't name them all. *Your system specs: Intel Core i7-2670QM @ 2.20 GHz, 8G RAM, 64-bit Windows, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M *Timeline of events before/after error: Was in debug forest during 1.7.1.2, decided I would wait until the hotfixes were laid out, so I came back on after 1.7.1.4 and this problem has been occurring since then.

Yeah, It's semi realistic if you were to support your weight and pull yourself up with your arms, it would just be alot slower.

Bug, or maybe I missed something in the earlier posts about how to fix it: Any server I join I get a pitch black screen, I can hear my character move, and I can open my gear menu to view all of the items. I cannot see my compass or watch when I try to bring them up either, if anyone knows anything about this let me know. Also, SixUpdater didn't work properly for me, I kept getting a bad version message on any 1.7.1.4 server until I manually extracted the files into @DayZ/Addons. Keep up the good work Rocket, it's appreciated.

Hotfix Build 1.7.1.4 Rolling Update (was 1.7.1.3)
gutshotz replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Sry, but: no. This is an alpha. This might be okay during a beta, but seriously it's an alpha version. We are supposed to test it! Sry, but actually Alpha means its supposed to be tested internally. Beta means a limited group of users test it. If anything, Day Z is a full release already (technically). Sorry, but actually Alpha is a testing stage, and just because Rocket decided to release the Alpha openly to the public, doesn't mean that it is even in the slightest way a full release. This is a testing stage, and I know Alpha's are supposed to be tested by a group of local people the devs choose, but that does not make this a release because we are allowed to stress test the Alpha. -

I used SixUpdater to update DayZ, and now I'm getting bad version unable to join on any 1.7.1.4 server. I checked my files to make sure they were upadated and everything checks out. Going to try manually extracting the files into my folder, but is anyone else having this problem? -
Herp.

They've just solved the engine error mate, we'll let Rocket do his thing, I'm sure he's got to test it, and it will be released soon enough.

I believe Rocket said something about holding your tongue on these posts' date=' they aren't useful seeing as how adding melee obviously took only hours, whereas the fixes you are speaking of take weeks. Please read the forum posts before posting. [/quote'] I was merely making the observation that if these were taking time away from fixing gamebreakers...then leave them aside. Sorry if I offended your assholiness..... thank you for being the forum police and putting me in my place. Ah, and I was merely correcting a post no "assholiness was involved." Sorry if you took it that way but resorting to insults is petty arrogance, you should learn to accept when you are wrong, it will help in life. It was the somewhat condescending attitude that I see far too many in this forum in particular that gets on my nerves. But its all good.... I will take back the assholiness comment (but the forum police stays... :P ) I will accept that is was quite forum policey, but let's just make bygones and I wish you the best of surviving mate.

I love hot fixes which introduce new features' date=' hehe. [/quote'] I would rather Rocket fix the seriously broken shit (like no food/drink spawining) rather than adding new shit. Save that for after the game breakers are manageable.
