Poster is ignorant and cannot read. OP Shot a person in bandit skin but said person was not an actual bandit. HOWEVER> Not everyone in a bandit skin, is a bandit in that life. Which results in murder, not a bandit kill. Example. I was a bandit at -3000. I died to another bandit. I respawn with 0 Humanity. I still have a bandit skin. If someone killed me now it would be a murder, not a bandit kill. -

I personally follow the rule of 2 per person in your group. Usually on the basis of you are guaranteed to be harmed in/out of acquiring said bloodbags. -
A few Sniping tips. If you can get a rough range, always OVER-zero your sniper and aim lower than your target. Better to get a gutshot if you miss judge, than to Under-zero and try to "drop" the bullet. The CZ550 Chevron (arrow) is roughly 1.5 Mil dots. 1.5Mil Dots in distance is around 1200m. Using this as a basis if your target is twice as tall as your Chevron (foot on the arrow at the bottom) that would be equal to 3mildots or a distance of 600m. This is all based on the mil-Dot snipers like the M24 or DMR. The basic formula is [18000] 1.8m (Man height) * 1000 / Mildot Height. The mildot height is how many Mildots your target consumes. Centre Mildot on the feet of target, count the mildots upward. Example: Target Mildot height 3 = 1.8*1000/3 = 600m I have written out on a sticky note on the side of my monitor the basic Mil Dot height > Distance ratios. Enjoy them: MILDOT = DISTANCE 5.0 = 360m 4.5 = 400m 4.0 = 450m 3.5 = 514m 3.0 = 600m 2.5 = 900m 2.0 = 1200m I haven't gone any lower as very few rifles fare well beyond 1200m.

Realism Pishposh. You have to make some compromises between "reality" and game mechanics (And I dont mean game limitations). The original values for "blood regeneration" seem too high for me, even if you add in the Blood Caps two posts up made. You'll end up with more people opting to hide away in forests or small villages scoffing food for a couple of hours and idling inbetween meals. Not only that it reduces the need to acquire blood bags.

Go back and read Rockets post you ignorant idiot. 1.The HACKS in DayZ are infact ARMA2 based. 2.The HACKS in DayZ are not solvable by Rocket. 3.The Hacks will be resolved once ARMA2 finds a solution. 4.There is no point delaying DayZ development in the mean time. 5.They are not ONE AND THE SAME. Thats like telling Notch to have stopped all development of a mod for Minecraft because its one of his team that is developing it. 6. I smell someone who bought Arma for DayZ solely which (while debatable) is silly. Go play Arma 2 itself if DayZ is OH SO BROKEN and you can't stand it. -

If you get a launch which requires CABuildingParts it means Combined Operations hasn't been launched. If youre launching via Steam (which i think I spied) instead of pasting the commandlines in the exe target go to Operation Arrowhead on steam and past it in the Launcher Settings there. Then when you launch OA from there select Combined Ops from the launch menu. -

As it stands spawning weaponless has changed the BeansWars metagame into a Free Bandage / Torch /Water metagame. Ideally the only thing that needed changing regarding spawned Makarovs is the amount of ammunition. 8 was way too many and allowed you to go gun ho. 2 as others have suggested would be better. 10-20 shots (Can't remember clipsize) is enough to defend yourself from Zeds, but not enough for you to easily decide to attack other players. Personally, as it stands, Spawning without a weapon is a nice idea but flawed. I found it much more difficult to do -anything- without a makarov and a single mag. I finally met up with a friend a few spawns later who gave me an M16 and a single clip (half full) and that instantly allowed me to resume normal DayZ operations. Before that point your only option on the coast was to crawl everywhere and get randomly spotted by Zeds (due a fix it seems very soon) or shot by Bandits who are still BeansWarring. I do like Silenceds (previous page) Idea of randomized starting loot, however that wouldn't reduce Spawn PVP imo. Infact it might inrease it as the bandits kill people and find things they don't want. In short this very much seems like a reaction to prevent Spawn PVP gone wrong as the motive has been analysed incorrectly. Spawn PVP is done because it is easy targets, not because of the beans or makarov ammo and removing the makarov entirely just makes them easier targets which are only slightly less worth killing (although that still wont stop the dedicated bandits). -
Just looking to have a friendly chat with the people I assaulted North of Elektro Power Plant. You numbered, three or four and had a Covered Lorry. I think one of you killed me with a winchester after I downed a couple of your friends (Two walking beside it and the driver). I had a DMR and a decent set of tools and revolver. This occured today on 17th June 2012 at about 2-3pm GMT on one of the Dallas Servers (53 I think). Would be nice to know who you guys were and your take on the scenario its not often I see friendly chats about violent encounters to let me know :) I was honestly surprised I hadn't caught you all properly and I guess Overeager to have your precious lorry for myself.

Are you saying Fuzzy, if you saw a truck you wouldn't O-Face if you had a chance of getting it for yourself and trying? Its a shame there arent more conversations about encounters on DayZ, we get plenty of "Yeah I was EPIC" threads or "Waaah" threads, but not too many that give both perspectives of the same encounter. Would they have reacted kindly If I approached in a friendly manner? Or some of my other questions like, why were they having the lorry drive up a hill and walking along side it? It was a curious sight, regardless of the fact it turned into a fight. Most Vehicle Drivers I see remain in the vehicle and at high speed. -

To paraphrase you Battlefield 3 isn't an MMO you ignorant fuck. Don't say some smart sounding shit without having evidence to back it up. MMO's that get casualised DO start to die. Some survive on sheer numbers (*Cough* WoW *Cough*) most however die. However DayZ does need to avoid being too niche, which is easily done seeing as it costs diddly squat (zero). Examples of MMOs being too niche are WurmOnline and so forth. EVE isn't brutal or demanding, its just a massive grind farm. In short; I agree with the OP. Constructive complaints are fine. Whinging "This is going to kill Dayz" or "Noobs want to casualise" doesn't fix anything though.

My first real intentional act of banditry was against the poor fellow Javi. He spotted me spawn fresh near Solnichniy, I acted as a survivor would and ran into the forest taking cover and spouted the line : "As much as I want to trust you, theres too many bandits" He replies in agreeance and then about 5minutes pass as I travel North East off-road. I see a small unmarked village with a barn when I hear two gunshots. I ask in chat "Gunshots friendly?" to my surprise Javi replies with yes its me :p A short conversation between us and I throw a couple of flares at the barn while holding the hill west of it I ask him if he wants to meet up as I had lots of Mak mags. Javi said he was low on blood. So I tell him to run into the barn (which is now crawling with zeds due to the flares). When I heard him start firing shots I knew that was my time to "arrive". I find him nestled up in the Barn southside I walk in and "save" him from the last Zed. With a short "hello" I root around the northern part of the barn, my back to him. (I was confident he wouldn't shoot me, and slightly confident he had little ammo to shoot with). I find that my side is mostly empty and spy a CZ at Javi's feet. He then drops the golden line "I'm low on blood. Do you have any?" So I cross over to him and say "sure just a sec" I root around the south side and climb to the upper part. At this point Javi is getting desperate asking me another two times for blood. So I deduce he is probably black and white. He then makes the mistake of checking out what I was looking at. He then gives me the clincher and turns his back to me revealing an Alice Pack, while on the steps and types "Got that blood?" to which I simply reply "I got your blood." and fire a single shot from the hip into his skull. I felt really guilty but then I figured to myself, he took the CZ had food and water but no meds and little ammo. He wouldn't have helped me in anyway and I would have just had to "protect" him. So I took his beans, his canteen and the CZ he found, rooted for more CZ ammo and left for Krasno. -
My Tempval kept dropping even while indoors. It even kept dropping after the rain had finished.

Managed to fix not being able to right click anything by re-installing DayZ completely. (Delete, Launch commands deleted, steam file check, reinstall). However there is still an issue with how we use Co-Op items.

Disclaimer; IVE READ THE PATCH NOTES. Right clicking food in my inventory yields no results. Rightclicking food in my pack yields no results. Rightclicking food in the gear menu but on the floor yields no results. Clearly, bugged.
