When you feel exposed to snipers while walking down the street

Probably same idea has been posted, but w/e Ill give it a try As well as the already established attachment system (I think its been confirmed in the standalone? Like in ArmA3?) ,weapons should have the same kind of system as vehicles. Certain parts need to be maintained over time and some guns need more maintenance and more such than others. Different tools might be needed as well IE: An AK can be fixed with basic tools, whereas a sniper would need more precise tools or machinery. (Or something, dont really know much about guns). Would also be god to be able to right click on your toolbox for an inspect gun option to see its condition. I think there should be some guns that would be immune to completely breaking down, like the double barreled shotgun or at least able to operate in a very bad condition. But, I think the standaone should have a pretty wide weapon range. Not realistic I know, but its more fun. I love finding a new cool gun to use, but after a while it becomes so-so to see the same ones. I dont care how rare they would have to be for them to fit in the atmosphere of game, but I would love it. Got a few other ideas concerning machinery and such, but we will see how this goes down.

This is the problem when people only bought A2 for DayZ. The basic game does pretty much everything and much more than what is shown in DayZ. Buggy? Yes, but its still an amazing game

NZ servers are honestly the worst. Never ever play on them.

Cool, I'm studying at the same Uni he went to. Was a bit trippy cause I used to know a guy from Oamaru that was an army vet also named Dean.

Yeah, so me and a buddy of mine were at our tent in the middle of nowhere in a low populated server. Somehow a helicopter finds exactly where our tent is and guns me down. Friend survived only to just fall down dead for no reason. On the way back to get our bodies we've run into multiple vehicles (Tons of crashed buses, ATVs everywhere, etc). Also on the road up to our bodies I found 6-7 MG ammo belts and a few sets of civilian clothing on the ground. Found about 15 cows all spawned in one place, bodies with nonlegit weapons, spawned boats/helis. All of this done near Elektro Jasmine, Ackbar, xXphycoCrazy are 3 that I have seen either with spawned items or in spawned vehicles. Cant upload any pics cause my files are too big, but im sure if you looked in the server logs or something you will see. As for time, 4am GMT +12 hours and was still happening when this post was made. Was having such a good time playing this wonderful game as well.

Im in Nz and I play on US servers. Get 200 or so ping but its still more reliable and faster than our local ones.

I would, but I tend to avoid the AUS/NZ servers due to them having the worst players out there. Like, most unfriendly, most likely to kill you for no reason etc.

Been seeing a lot of this lately, I dont die very often but when I do its faced with a few lives of trying to run through a city for some food and water so I can head north. Most of the time I will be killed by a sniper or someone with some sort of rifle when I enter a church or a grocery store. Doesnt really make sense to me. Obviously new character (No weapon) so why bother killing me? Its just a waste of ammo and attracts zombies. Few other situations Ive had where Ive died (Been trying things out to see how people would react). -Saw someone with a double barreled shotgun being chased by zombies so I decided to take aggro off of him so he could shoot them, after hes done he turns around and kills me (Just spawned, nothing was lost) -Offer through direct chat to give a player some ammo I had found for the gun he was using, resulted in him killing me -Got a Lee and found a new player. Instead of killing them, I dropped it for them explaining through chat that i was giving it to him (leaving me with no weapon), he kills me. Seriously, wat?

Hey, 2 of my friends and I are looking for a larger group to join, specifically one with some sort of mission or ideal to attempt to accomplish. We are in NZ, but regularly play on US servers (Somehow less laggy and faster than ones in our own country). We all have mics, all are mature players (20+). Our timezone is GMT+12. 2 of the players are relatively new, but I have played ArmA2 since the release. We have some semi-decent gear focused towards practicality rather than player killing.

I see your skype is based in the UK, do you play on US servers or UK ones? UK is probably a bit too far away for us

100 is too much? O.o Ive been playing all week on American servers with 200+ ping and it works just fine.

Oh, Ive remembered another of my new character deaths. I was hit by a zombie in Balota airstrip and started bleeding. Didnt have a bandage since the same thing had happened to me when I spawned just on the coast at 12000 blood. Only been alive for 10 minutes, found an axe and that was it. So I just lied down in a hanger to await my fate and a new spawn. Then walks in a person with an AK who sees me. I just sat there didnt do anything and he unloads an entire mag into me. A guy proning on the ground... bleeding. In the middle of an airfield. What a boss

Nah, Ive found that generally people are terrible shots and unless they are lying in wait they cant really hit anything.

Not at all and thats how it should be. It kind of makes me sad because I do remember a time when it was possible to team up with randoms and actually go hunt for bandits. Seems like those times have gone now and everyone is a bandit.

Ive put probably 150 hours into DayZ already, I know where to go and where not to go. My last character had been alive for 2 weeks of my time and died to a hacker. I just stay in the south till I have some basic gear and then enjoy raiding towns and huts and such with my friends.

Ive only experienced one hacker. Must have been something like an aimbot or something. Just quitely cruising around and I suddenly die with -40000 blood. Would have just passed it off as a nice sniper shot from a .50cal or something but my friend died exactly the same way, about a minute before from the other side of the map. My method to avoiding hacks is to just play on low populated servers.
