I'm just hoping that dayz on pc doesn't suffer from the devs approaching each task with the mindest of "how can we implement such and such a feature for the pc and for consoles..." And settling for a medium between the two... Get a pc scrubs!

The problem here is that those wipes weren't of your own free will, and this thread is about suicide...

This isn't a perfect solution, but at this point the only real option is either to have 360° security if you are in a group, as any disciplined soldier would understand, or bugout quickly if you are alone and see someone log off after engaging. I know those aren't the answers you want but I really haven't seen alot of issues surrounding ghostng, not like it was in the mod. I'm sure rocket n the boys will find a solution in time, but for now... Watch your six!

Taking this one step further, i hope to see zombies spawn inside buildings as well. Nothing like trying to lose a bunch of zombies, only to find the house you chose to hide in is "preoccupied." A chain reaction of bad circumstances/choices...

Alot of good posts made here, other than the rabbit meat derailment lol. I would like hunting to be a challenge, but it seems there needs to be a balance to other methods of obtaining food. If hunting is too hard, then the meta will dictate that people continue to loot towns because it's the easiest method and of course the coast will have to have enough lootable food to at least get new spawns a chance to survive. This could end up making killing fresh spawns more pragmatic than it is atm, which seems like a bad thing. I really like the nutritional stuff that was mentioned though, perhaps make that aspect more simplistic to that cooked meat keeps you sustained for a longer period of time, though takes a longer period of time to eat and must be consumed at one sitting to get the sustained effect. I think that something like that would offer a good enough incentive to hunt, as difficult as that may become, while keeping the current meta for obtaining food from shifting dramatically. Edit- of course this implies that cooking food will sustain you better than consumed cold, but that cooked game meat could sustain you the most, given that hunting is actually difficult...

Does the move speed need to change per weapon? Doesn't seem that legit to me, seeing as how I've ran with an m-4 and pistol with neither slowing me down. I can understand the need to move more cautiously while wielding a chainsaw if it's on of course, but what if it's not on? I dunno, i just feel that balancing things out in this sense is the wrong way to do it as it creates unrealistic values and makes the game more arcade-like. The real balance should come with encumbrance values and loot rarity with the bottom line being that," some guys are lucky, some guys aren't." If i wanted fairness, i wouldn't be playing Dayz...

Right, understood it the first time. However in the FOLLOWING post you state, "just want to see more footage of the guy." So i asked which is it, for the devs or for you, seeing as how you presented two alternative reasons. No need for simplicity, as this isn't rocket science lol. In the former case, I'm sure the devs are well aware of the hacking issues in dayz. For the latter, there are many people who like to indulge into hackers, server admins/clans etc... Getting "caught red-handed," but usually, threads like those devolve into utter nonsense, witch hunting and flaming, which does little for the community, not to mention the moderators who have to sift through all the bullshit. In the end, neither have enough merit to warrant a stickied thread full of hacking footage and it isn't that hard to search youtube. However, I'm sure there are procedures in place to report hackers and the like with evidence, though i have been fortunate enough to not need to know those steps at the present.

Wait, so you want another thread stickied with video footage of people hacking for you to see or the devs? To be honest, I'm fairly certain that both the devs and the majority of the player base know that hacking is prevalent, and what types are used ingame without the need to flood these forums with more. Though i do love a good hack busted video every now and again lol.

To be honest, I'm still getting slapped in the face... Morals are a bitch!

Here's what you do about kos: First off, make sure your mother (father, sibling, girlfriend, boyfriend, spouse, etc...) is not working when you are playing and that she is in the same location (home, apt, etc...) as you are. Second, play some Dayz. Third, each time you get into a kos fight and lose because you were out gunned, get up and have whoever you chose to be around you slap you in the face one time. Be sure to remind them that it's to be a hard slap and include: redness, swelling, and a clear, visible indication that all five (maybe less depending on the persons history) fingers were present. Fourth, each time you get kos'd due to not moving tactically, not being aware of your surroundings, and/or being THAT GUY who runs up to random people who are wearing gasmasks while shouting, "Don't shoot I'm friendly," ask for TWO slaps rather than one. Fifth, rinse and repeat. Using this method of reinforcing your poor judgments ingame with real bouts of physical pain will quickly help break the pattern of bad decisions you make and, in turn, prolong your characters lifecycle indefinately...

Yea, i think most of are guilty of that unless someone has a collecting fetish. Our trend of incorporating meta to coincide with our trial.and errors dictates what works for each of us generally and if it isn't broke, don't fix it!
