I can't connect to some of the servers. sometimes I will get "Connecting failed" and be sent back to the lobby. I know that the servers are up because my friends join these servers moments before me and get in no problem.

Is there anyway I can create a new character and not lose all my stuff on my current character? I have a few friends that recently picked up this game and I really want to play with them on a fresh character, but I don't want to suicide and lose all the stuff I got on my current account.
